The money you quote is simply ludicrous.
I would rather we sell buy cech and pay the 130k pw he requires.
that amount of money for a man that will leave regardless in the next year or two seems pointless to me we have Valdes, could buy a good keeper for a decent amount and some good prospects coming through.

Honestly can understand why people are so concerned about player wages and how much we spend on buying them. We're supporters not financial staff at the club.
Give him 300 a week if he'll stay.

Herbie. read my post! ! I didn't say I got the info from bbc , I just said after I heard it I Googled around and noticed bbc stating what LVG Had said. and dean I accept and kind of agree with what your sayins , but getting DDG to sign a contract will only enhance the price what we couldget for him when he will go! !!!

Who's to say he doesn't deserve that wage when he is winning us matches by himself and is clearly our best player. By most accounts, that's still less than Rooney who doesn't really offer as much to the team as people (mainly English) like to suggest.

I'm not too worried about his wages I think in today's market he's probably worth £250k a week. Plus, like stated above , I expect him to leave for Spain at some point regardless of staying this year. If he is tied down to a 4/5 year deal at least we will get £50m for him instead of £20m

When you consider that we lose Falcao off the wage bill. probably 1/3rd of his salary can top up ddg and we are no worse off as a team!
Lot of money but he should certainly be a top earner at the club!

If you lookat the pople in nepal do you still think he deserves it I don't as mutch as I love football people who do propr jobs deserve a lot more

{Ed025's Note - i agree daz in a perfect world, i blame the tory,s..but then again i blame them for everything mate..

I would love for him to stay . But if it is 275k a week then i would rather swap him with Bale and play him for same wages . With our improved defence , maybe in next season , we will need less of his magical saves . I absolutely love DDG but 275k is ridiculous for anyone but 30 goals scoring attacker .

Dazw I disagree, the millions teams like United make are only generated because of the players. People pay to seem them, they are the ones who sell merchandise. That's like saying a singer or actor doesn't deserve their fair share of the returns their music or movie makes.

Remember the year after Beckham left for Madrid, Real took over the top spot as the world's wealthiest club, probably because of the merch sold in the Asian market only fair he got his fair share as it was his name doing the selling.

Daz that argument is irrelevant, football is a global industry worth billions, so its a natural progression that the top athletes have pay structures which reflect this! No one is doubting the worth of a heart surgeon or a teacher over someone who plays football for a living but a) it's business, just like any other company which operate and provide services b) it provides global entertainment and livelihoods for many and, c) they all pay taxes which go back into our economy and society! This high and mighty stance that people take is so boring.

Plus a heart surgeon can't score a 25 yard screamer.
