Edd's, how are you all? Good I hope?

Quick question?

Any further info on which goalkeepers we are looking at? We have Valdes I know, and made some good saves against Hull? But, something still tells me he's not going to be our number 1? Could we have an insight into who we may be looking at? (Please not Lloris, please!)

Cheers, Ronnie.

(Or Cech for that matter) thanks!

{Ed001's Note - Begovic and Cech are the only two I know of interest in off the top of my head. I am sure there will be others abroad as well. Oh and Krul, I always forget about him as it seems unlikely he would join to be number two and I can't see how anyone could consider him good enough to be number one at Man Utd.}

Cech in a heart beat for me.

I personally would take Begovic, has always shown a great presence when we haven played vs stoke and he has done relatively well when you think of the teams they have to play.

But my personal choice would be to put faith into a young keeper again i.e. Leno from Leverkusen! Watched him a fair few times this season and last and he has impressed me a lot for what? 23/24 years old? He could excel into something special if he came to United.

As we all do, I hope De Gea stays. But if he goes, I think the best keeper on the market is Cech. Maybe Leno too. I don't like Begovic, Krul, Lloris, their play is too risky, Bartez type :) Handanovic is good and little bit less risky than the above.

I've seen a lot of Bernd Leno on TV and would like him, but also Anthony Lopes of Lyon, he looks good, but can't see him leaving Lyon? Begovic I wouldn't mind, could get for a good price too I think?

Cech, Begovic, Krul and Lloris have all been considered. Subject to De Gea going Cech would be considered first followed by Begovic. Van Gaal is a big fan of Krul but questions would be asked about his ability. Although Tottenham are claiming Lloris is happy where is he is, some reports from his camp are that he would prefer to play Champions League football to reassure his place as French Number 1, Tottenham would be very reluctant to sell and I expect the figure that is received for De Gea would be used to purchase Lloris at the same price. Cech and Begovic are the cheaper preferred keepers at this moment in time.

It seems after what LVG said that we are looking at alternatives should De Gea go but I really would like us to give Valdes a go. Apart from the dodgy drop in the last game he made 2 great saves. He was also part of that great Barca team and only left because of his injury and because he didn't want to play for them anymore. I think we could get a cracking 3 or 4 years out of him. Maybe even more.
