Technically not a "rumour" as such but have I missed something with Phil jones/ Man Utd and doping at the europa league final? Sky sports reporting Phil jones banned for 2 European games due to it -

which with bailly suspended as well means smalling&lindeloff against Madrid?

{Ed007's Note - There is no suggestion whatsoever that Jones or Daley Blind, who was also fined the same amount as Jones of £4,500, are guilty of doping. Both players had a run-in with a UEFA anti-doping guy so Jones was fined and banned for verbally abusing the UEFA guy and Blind didn't want to hang about for the test and made his feelings known.
Manchester United have also been fined £8,900 because of the rule breaches and the club have three days to appeal against the decisions.}

Jose's comments about why he is playing Smalling and Lindelof together make perfect sense now so the club were obviously aware this ban was coming.

Bit of a stupid way to get banned, after the Rio incident you would have thought the club would not have stood for any messing around when it came to drug testing.

I'm sure a two game European ban will have little to no bearing on transfers but could any of the Eds clarify if we are seeking to sell any defenders? Darmian/ Smalling/ Jones/ Blind were all mentioned in the past (I have read the page and listened to the Sharkpod) . Given Bailey and Jones are out of CL and Shaw and Rojo have long term injuries, are any of these players likely to leave or will it likely be January before we see some movement here?

{Ed002's Note - There could still be sales.}

Yeah, I should of said there was no rumour of any doping failure. My bad on that one. But cheers ed :)

{Ed007's Note - No worries mate (yes)

They were both annoyed about having to stay back after the Europa league final and miss the team photoshoot apparently.

Why has it taken those Muppets at uefa 2 months to deal with this though surely it could of been handled more efficiently.

Rio incident is a completely different case tough, he ran away from them. Obviously he had something to hide. Probably snortet some cocaine couple days before and wanted to make sure the substance was completely out of his body before takin the test a day later.

Apparently, there was a photo taken with a tribute/ banner to all the Manchester victims, which happened two days before. Jones was told he had to miss it to take the test and he told them to eff off till he's had the photo taken. I think its very poor from Uefa. what's another 3 minutes in the scheme of things?
