Anybody who attended the game on saturday hear lots of booing of lukaku? Mourinho seems to be making an issue of it.

If there was booing it’s fickle of the fans to do so. Lukaku is at a new club and has scored a fair few goals already. He’s still improving as a player. He’s been here only a few months. Against Spurs he hit the post and set up Martial. Whilst playing up top is about scoring goals, you also have to be good off the ball, make those penetrating runs. Drag defenders out of position. Against Liverpool he didn’t really do that, but neither did the rest of the team.

I didn’t hear any booing.

There was a few groans but nothing overtly negative to any of the players.

Few groans i heard on tv when he stopped and started chasing a ball.

Think Jose is on about booing the Rashford sub?

If not then he's (to me) looking at a way to divide himself from the most important aspect of the club, and looking for a way out.

Only seen jose mention booing of the rashford sub.

He has mentioned fans not being supportive of lukaku tho.

I'm sorry, but fans booing Mou for taking Rashford off was uncalled for.

I think, personal opinion though, is that Rashford is a slightly frustrating player at times. I think sometimes he tries a bit too hard, dribbles one player too many and his delivery in the final 3rd can leave you wanting for more.

One example of him being extremely frustrating was the Benfica match. Whenever he took a corner, he just wanted to score directly from it and even the free kick from which he scored, was just luck.

I'm not saying he's a bad player, he's a talented guy who might make it big, but the current problem is that he tries to win the match on his own and that is frustrating.

Now, the substitution on Saturday, for the Spurs game was spot on. Yes, Martial has had bad games too, but I feel both are better in the current system as impact subs. Anyway, not to start an argument or to piss other posters off, just my take.

Raghav
Think there is any chance that Jose told rash to put every corner free kick on the young keeper, let's see what his like .
Might even make a mistake?

Jred,

That might be the issue, but then, don't you think that's a complete waste of tactic, we've got players who are well above 6 feet. Don't you think it would make sense to try and find at least one?

We scored of it, job done .
Rash but 2 corners and then the free kick on gK in the space of 3 minutes and he struggled with all 3 .

How many times to we actually see teams make a chance off a corner, even with players over 6ft.

It was a tactic it worked, the gK was struggling with it why change?

I think a lot of teams take advantage of a set-piece situation. Whether it is a free kick or even a corner. I think that's the whole purpose an attacking set-piece, putting the opponent under pressure.

I'm not saying the tactic didn't work, it did and we scored, but I'll take it as more of a fluke, rather than a practised thing.
