Crystal Palace reportedly looking at Norwich City's Max Aarons as their Wan-Bissaka replacement.

Hopefully that means the clubs have agreed on a deal and we'll soon see him in the red shirt!

A decent CB and Fernandes and I'd be content with this transfer window.

We need more midfielders.

2.) 11 Jun 2019
11 Jun 2019 13:01:28
we still need a rw and another central midfielder alson woth the 2 you have said.

3.) 11 Jun 2019

Plus a couple of outgoings.

What does the OP have to do with midfielders? We also need a right back, I think people have football Tourette’s or something. Looks more and more likely that we will sign AWB, brilliant signing if true, amazing how a good defensive right back can make the centre halves look better, fingers crossed we get this one sewn up quickly.

They still say Max Aarons is a fall up option for Utd in case the deal to sign Wan Bissaka don't go through.

I agree 100% GDS.

A problem we've have the past few years is the lack of quality on our right hand side. To the point where players like Valencia and Young have looked decent, simply because we've got no better.

I expect AWB to be great for us and we'll see a more comfortable defence and midfield knowing that we're strong on both sides.

Obviously in an ideal world we'd sign Sancho / Bale and A CM such as Rabiot. But I cannot see that many signings happening this summer, would love to be surprised though.

I don't believe we're in for awb, why would we sign a 21 year old rb for 60m when we have a 20 year old rb with massive potential like dalot.
I think someone like meunier is a much more likely option.

11 Jun 2019 14:32:51
Rosspique,
remember Dalot showed some good potential as a RM/ RW in a couple of games this year. It may be that AWB and Dalot can play together forming a strong right side.
Dalot also can play LB which provides cover and with AWB in the squad allows us to offload Young as we have AWB, Dalot, Shaw and one from the youths.

9.) 11 Jun 2019
11 Jun 2019 14:42:12
Ed002 has confirmed we're interested and a lot of rumours / reports saying it's going to happen as long as the clubs agree on a price.

Dalot has potential but is far from being our starting RB.

11 Jun 2019 14:45:06
Meunier played only 20 odd games this season and whenever he played he was average, hence they are letting him go, so its a big no for Meunier.
Dalot has potential no doubt, but i would let him add depth to the squad for a season or two and sign AWB as an immediate starter.

Gds I think people brought up need/ want for RWs and CMs because the op said he would be content with AWB, decent CB and Bruno Fernandes. I too would still want a RW and hopefully another CM on top of them.

Also Weggy do you really want us to go for Bale in "an ideal world"? For me he would only be a last gasp option if only we can't get anyone decent through the door and even then only on a loan without an obligation to buy. I think we shouldn't consider signing Bale at this stage, in an ideal world and rather go for other players like Sancho ( who you did mention) or Chiesa, etc.

Rosspique FB is a really demanding position in the modern game so having 2 good options wouldn't be bad in my opinion if we sign AWB. Also both AWB and Dakota are versatile enough and can provide cover in other positions. Also I think we being homegrown works in favour of AWB and is one of the reasons we are showing serious interest in bringing him here.

11 Jun 2019 15:19:17
Or we could just have two young players competing for a spot in the same position. Going to be playing 50/ 60 games next season and our injury record is pretty poor so we need two players for each position.

13.) 11 Jun 2019
11 Jun 2019 15:47:39
You need 2 quality players in each position to challenge on all fronts.

We miss out on awb will be very disappointing.

11 Jun 2019 15:53:27
Deependra If I had the choice I would pick Sancho over bale every single time. However Sancho looks very unlikely to be leaving this summer and if the rumours of getting Bale on a 1 year loan are true then I would welcome him.

Lets be honest, minus his injury record he is one of the best attackers in world football and would be one our top goalscorers if he did join.

By 'ideal world' I meant the best realistic scenario.

{Ed002's Note - They play in different positions.}

15.) 11 Jun 2019
11 Jun 2019 16:27:10
However we can't minus his injury record. Its a major factor on whether he would be a good buy or not. Plus he doesn't want to leave Madrid and ignores medical advice an keeps golfing which isn't helping with the injuries. i'd avoid him like the plague.

16.) 11 Jun 2019
11 Jun 2019 16:28:01
But how can we ignore his woeful injury record when looking at Bale along with his not so good season last term and his astronomical wages will be a very big pain in the backside for whoever tries to sign him. Although as a club we make a lot of money from revenue but still we are maxed out in terms of wages (ffp), and unlike transfer fees you can't just increase it enormously, I think you can only have an increment of around 5-10% (not sure on the exact figure) from the previous ffp year/ cycle. So I can see a lot of cons at pursuing Bale.

17.) 11 Jun 2019
11 Jun 2019 16:15:36
Both are primarily Right Wingers are they not Ed?

I understand Sancho can play on the left too as well as Bale playing as a Striker or behind the Striker.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

18.) 11 Jun 2019
11 Jun 2019 16:46:24
From all accounts we are looking at playing dalot further forward.

19.) 11 Jun 2019
11 Jun 2019 17:13:08
bale actually played the most games since he joined them.

42 games and he scored 14 goals and got 6 assists.

when you actually see them numbers he's not as injured as we all think.

20.) 11 Jun 2019
11 Jun 2019 17:55:01
Dalot will not be played further forward. Dalot has the potential to be one of the best attacking rbs in the world, there are defensive issues he would need to work on obviously.
I would prefer to have a slightly older rb, in their prime, again someone, and this next word is important 'like' meunier who dalot can learn his trade of rather than having 2 very young inexperienced rbs.
I'll come back to ye when we don't sign awb.
Also whoever said it was reported a lot above, think gaitan, schneider, garay etc etc.

21.) 11 Jun 2019
11 Jun 2019 18:37:19
Yes but as well as the media reports our very own Ed002 confirmed the clubs interest.

Why are you so confident he won't be joining?

Also Dalot has shown nothing to warrant him potentially being one of the best attacking fullbacks in the world, so far he has been OK but that's all.

AWB has proven he's good enough after a full season in the prem.

22.) 11 Jun 2019
11 Jun 2019 21:16:50
Schneider 😂😂.

23.) 12 Jun 2019
11 Jun 2019 23:30:07
Yes Sancho and bale play in the same position and as for Dalot he will never be one of the best right backs in the world.

24.) 12 Jun 2019
11 Jun 2019 18:23:39
Ed, s. Are we looking at any potential strikers that may come in should Sanchez and Lukaku be moved on in this transfer window. cheers.

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

25.) 12 Jun 2019
12 Jun 2019 16:22:14
Ed has already said that Sebastian Haller could be looked at if Lukaku were to leave.
