Director of football rumours starting to surface again.
Who should the board be targeting? Van der Sar would be a good option or move Ole upstairs and get Poch in to mamage.

Why move ole into another position he is even less experienced in?

Get an actual director of football. I've always thought Jordi Cruyff could be a good choice knows the club and seems to have good knowledge of clubs around the world.

It really depends on what the club want from the role. I don't think hiring someone who hasn't done the role or similar is a good idea.

Jordi Cryuff would be good if they want someone who knows the club. Berta, Campos or Rangnick would be good options.

Jordi was just someone I'd seen had done the job at other clubs and been a manager as well as knowing our club plus I'd imagine he had good relationships with lost of clubs so i thought be may be a decent option. but I don't know enough about the job or the person so it is just an opinion ed would know more about both so I'd go with what he says.

Ed002, that depends on the remit of the senior role though surely?

If United want someone who can direct real change and get the club back on the right footing then we need the best person for the job.

However, if the club wants some kind of ceremonial role that looks like someone is doing something but in reality they aren't making a gnats arse of difference then maybe signing someone the fans will have some sort of connection with would better suit the club's criteria.

From what you've said the position doesn't seem to carry much weight and seems poorly thought out, which is why they are struggling to find someone serious to fill it.
