If Giggs thinks that he is the best option to be the next manager, he is more delusional than someone we have come to know well.
PS I like Giggs as a player, I wish him well. Let him prove himself elsewhere then who knows.
His personal life is literally his own affair, but there does need to be at least a bit of moral clout to a manager especially with young players under supervision.
Needs to keep his name off the front pages of the tabloids for a while.

Great point dw now I wonder what saf and sir bobby stance is with their push for giggs to be manager will all the tabloid stories of his personal life? Opinion eds?

Personally I don't mind if Giggs becomes manager or not. His personal life is not really the image utd would want, imo but if he wins trophies then that will be brushed aside.

As for his lack of experience, other managers have taken on big clubs without the experience of managing other teams, such as Zidane.

What I do care about is the way we are playing under LVG, it is akin to watching a game of chess, waiting/ hoping for a mistake. He has spent a lot trying to recruit the players of his choice but I feel we have not improved much under his management.

even zidane managed real madrid b or was it c side, and zidane got the job bcz there was no one else available at that point of time, that's why madrid would like some like mourinho, according to spanish media perez wants mourinho, that would not be happening if he wanted to keep zidane.

Nobody else available for the Madrid job? They've appointed Zidane because they have been grooming him for it for years and he is politically a fan fave.

We are doing the same with Giggs, but not sure how a stint managing u21s will prepare him for working with first team players and egos against top quality sides with top quality managers and tactics.

Either we give him the job or don't, but don't string him along. He's vets only have is playing more attacking football (we all assume) . Who knows how he's do until he got the role. I think if we are to give it to him, he's need a very experienced number 2 as well as a possible Director of Football to take away the other tasks from him and adopt a more continental coach style arrangement.

I'm not saying it's the right thing to do by the way, but I'd back him if he got it. Just like I'll back LVG until he is sacked/ retires. Who Giggs is sleeping with is quite frankly nothing to do with football nor any of us!

eric while i agree with u on zidane being groomed and him being a fan favorite but please do tell me how he wasn't ready to manage real madrid in june 2015, which is why they went and got benitez and he is suddenly is mature and experienced enough to be madrid manager come jan 2016, and also please tell me other than mourinho who was available who take a new job in jan, mourinho was a no go as he seemed to waiting on for the utd job, which is something that has been said not just by media, but by a inter board member who mourinho dined with and an ex real madrid president. Their only option was zidane and given his legend status it was politically smart move for perez who wasn't exactly winning popularity polls after his ddg and benitez debacles.

Sorry guys but any manager needs to present the right image and be a decent moral person.

Moral according to who?

Although the Madrid job can hardly be described as stable, there'd be a queue several times around the Bernebeu had they gone externally after another manager. Maybe Perez realised he messed up getting rid of Ancelotti and appointing Benitez which was never going to work. He may even have taken advice and realised Zizou has been ready for years for it. Who knows?

It does seem Jose is a shoe in for our top job, I'm just saying unless Giggs goes elsewhere, and even if he does, nothing is going to prepare for him for the United job so either give it to him, keep LVG, or just come out and confirm Jose.

Andrew B I don't expect anybody to bee perfect and to a large degree personal issues can be kept separate however I don't think anybody would condone giggs morally loose behaviour. No CEO or top level manager would be allowed to stay in charge of any plc with his private life on the front pages in disgrace regularly.

Well imagine he got the job and ended up shagging half the players other half, it would be quite embarrassing lol.

what has giggs done recently? i know about his sister in law and the welsh bb star but that was a while ago. i genuinely don't know what he has done recently.

He's wrecked two marriages. Can't get much lower than that. I mean each of you look at your own partners and wonder if he did the same to you. Hasn't shown anything publicly to say he's remorseful for it. personally woudnt appoint. Incredibly bad judgement bad taste and shows a distinct weakness in character that woudnt give me confidence he can be a strong manager. Maybe many years later if he has proved himself elsewhere and established an identity to respect. Certainly not now.

Ed 1 if you remember ibrahamovic conversation. I agree with your perception. As opposed to someone like Bendtnar who really is what he seems.

{Ed001's Note - good point, Bentdner is an arse. Very arrogant and not as a joke, just genuinely arrogant. Kind of person Mata was talking about.}

Bendtner must of won a game of skittles or something as a kid. Went to his head that he'd made it already. Extraordinary lack of accomplishment for so much arrogance. Pjust watching Antonio valencias doc. Hands down all respect for him. The quietest and humble often have the greatest depth. Be glad to see the back of Ronaldo . Football needs better peers.
