Surprised to see valencia not made available for transfer. I like the guy but no longer is he a specialist in any position I wonder what Jose's plans are for him.

He is a specialist right winger, that can fill in at RB if needed and even CM if really desperate. We need some players like that. Valencia will not be a starter, Mourinho means starting 11 I believe. He isn't good enough in any position to start we all know that, but his attitude, experience, versatility, wages and transfer value mean he is a good asset for the manager and can fill in when needed. Same as Young but he is paid far too much imo (difference between being Ecuadorian and British) .

A specialist right winger that can't beat a man or cross a decent ball?

Fabs - Correct, but where has he played all of his career? Just because he isn't very good at it, it doesn't mean he isn't specialist.

Rooney is a specialist striker!

Reports today state that psg are offering 26mil pounds for Valencia. No that is not a typo. I don't buy the report and I don't buy the price, but if it's true i'd take him to France myself. On my back swimming the channel if he wanted to. Great squad member and hard worker but he's surplus to requirements now and isn't worth half that quoted sum.

Folks don't forget when Rooney had his most prolific scoring season, it was widely thought that one key factor was the service he received from the right provided by a certain TonyV. He IS a winger and can play well there, defends, chases, is very strong, when in firm. A handy experienced player to have for the youngsters. I don't know if Mourinho will keep him but won't be sad if he does.
