I see it's meltdown on the Scousers page. However, it's not that dissimilar to what we get on here after a bad result.

I didn't want Jose but right now I think he's doing a good job. He took time to figure out his best team and he's still tinkering with the wide players but all in all I am enjoying watching us and we are making steady progress.

I'm looking forward to playing Chelsea, I thInk we will do them, I also think we will gently move into the top. I've always worried about the Europa but now we are on the last 16 we need to go for it. We showed real character at Wembley which augers well for the future.

As for Pogba, he's done OK, he has potential. The issue is for £89M you kind of want a game changer and whilst he has shown flashes, he needs to step up and grasp games.

All in all a good season so far with some real brig spots for the future.

AJH, the lack of champions league hurt us, had we been a champions league regular club, we might be able to sign players at a lesser price.
We are slowly building into a stable squad.
We won the EFL cup but I wasn't happy. Jose wasn't happy. Under LVG I'd be bouncing with that win. He's changing the mentality and even the fans mentality.
I think we'll draw away to Chelsea.

Rohan,

You should have been happy on Sunday mate, if you can't be happy when we win a trophy then it's fairly pointless supporting. We didn't play great but we won the cup, that's what champions do and I was delighted.

We can't draw at Chelsea, no replay, win or bust.

Rohan why is every post of yours doom and gloom? I understand that it's only the efl cup but after the last 3 years of dross we are starting to improve and it's been enjoyable to watch united again. It's a process and results won't be instant and we are not going to play 10/ 10 every week. Too many people expect us to be like that and in reality they will never be that consistent. Enjoy the cup wins because I can guarantee Liverpool and Spurs would have loved to have won a trophy after 1 trophy in 10 years.

I think Rohan meant he isn't satisfied with just an efl cup, neither am I. Happy? Of course but not satisfied. This is the change in mentality I think he was referring to.

the days of fergie are over where we knew we would win. Slowly but surely Jose is changing the mentality but let's enjoy the trophies we win that's all I was saying.

Rohan,

I doubt the fact that we are not in the Champions League is hurting us right now.
The simple point is that, now, the Transfer Window/ Market has become a seller's market, i. e. if you want to buy then it's the seller who decides what price they want to sell at. Of course, United have a lot of money, so clubs can ask for exorbitant amounts of money, which may or not be reasonable, but, it if we are willing to pay, then we get the player. It's more about whether we can afford a player rather than whether or not we are in the Champions League.

Jose wasn't happy with the performance because he expected the team to play in a different manner and deliver in a different manner, which they did not.

Allowing Saints to come back into the game was always going to piss off the gaffer.

Point is, it takes time to rebuild, Jose has and probably will buy the right players in the coming transfer windows. And with the kind of money that United have been churning in the last few years (maybe a decade? ) we can afford any player that wants a move.

Raghav.

I'm not being pessimistic. I just feel an away trip to Russia and then away to Chelsea could be too much for us.
We won't go down easy but we may not beat them at Stamford bridge with such tired legs. Jose wouldn't want to lose again there. He would take a draw. I'd take a draw. Much easier to beat them at home.

And by I wasn't happy I didn't mean it was I was unhappy. It was like a neutral feeling. We need to get something more and we absolutely can but just feel FA Cup, Europa and top 4 might be too much.
We are 1 Herrera, or Zlatan injury away from being dreadful. Everyone else is replaceable.

Agree with Rohan. Europa League is so difficult as you're playing more games. The travel is bad as the games are on Thursday's so the players are out of sync.
I will be delighted with a draw against Chelsea but sadly, I think they will beat us comfortably as they will be a lot fresher and have time to prepare for the tie. I also think, they're a better team than us at present and they have home advantage.

Fa cup tie will be settled on the day et and pens if required rohan.
Ddg and pogba are also not replaceable. People can ignore the stats all they like but pogba is right up there for forward passes chances created etc etc. take pogba away and most of the imagination in our midfield goes too.
