Everton's new striker scored a belter today. Should we put in a cheeky bid?

Waiting for all of the Rooney-haters on this page to start finding things to criticize about the strike. "well, he would have hit it even harder ten years ago" "how much did he get paid to score that goal" "i bet he eats a cheeseburger after the match". smh. shameful really. will never understand it, will never forget it when the same fans ask for loyalty from a player in the future.

stupid woody, should have put a buyback clause for the sale, we might have to buy him back for 100mn in a few years time.

I haven't been a fan of Rooney for a long time, but I've always respected him as a player and what he has achieved at our club (even if I feel he could have achieved so much more with a little professionalism) .

But his time at our club had clearly been drawing to a close for a few years. He leaned early and I think especially in the last few years at our club he seemed to lack that fire in his belly type motivation that made him such an explosive talent in his early years.

Hopefully a move back to his boyhood club can reigniting that fire and we can see one last hurrah from the most talented English player of his generation.

Rooney is going to have an incredible start to his career back at Everton but would slow down by this time next year.
Good luck to him.

I don't think anybody who watched Rooney over the last few years could be slaggged off for thinking he has not been good.

The issue people had was that he played whatever form he was in and he was clearly on a downward curve and not adding much to the team.

He will always be a legend at United whether people like it or not, he scored more than Sir Bobby for God sake, people can now look at what he did for us and enjoy it rather than get annoyed that he went on too long. The reaction of the fans at OT to him has always been fantastic, it is just on forums etc where he was slagged off, I have never heard him booed or anything at the stadium and I can't wait for the Everton game to hear the reception he gets. I love when a hero comes back with a rival club, I don't know what it is like for other clubs but for us it always feels so special.

For once i am in total agreement. Wayne Rooney may have been sluggish the last few years.

But without his 250 goals where would we be in the league and would we have won as much.

Give me a 24 yr old Rooney out of anyone in the team today. A legend with fire power and guile who we won't see his kind again for decades. Rashford martial etc not fit to tie his laces compared to 20yr old Rooney

Haters will be haters when a player ain't jumping through hoops and blame a player not the team

Real supporters get behind the team for the bad and the great.
