Totally agree red man. I said last night that he should never have been bought. And I also praised his 100% efforts when called upon.
But as you say, our wonderful chief exec managed to cock up the deal so much that we ended up paying over £10m extra for his signature.
4 years later, Fellaini looks like he's departing having served the club as best as he can, but EW stays in the job despite all the cock ups.

I think you can add the LVG years under this too Red Man!

I think it has been far too easy to have a pop at the player.
He has given everything every time he has put the shirt on which is a lot more than can be said for some.
I for one will miss him as I think the team will if not replaced properly and I wish the guy the best of luck .

Red man there has been far worse players to play for United than the wig.

He was made the scapegoat for moyes brief spell.

The guy may not have been the best technical player but for me he more than deserved his place in the team when chosen.

Last season he was one of the reasons we won the Europa he scored vital goals and provided teams with something else to worry about.

Glory hunting embarrassing fans .

Would you support united if we couldn't buy the best players in the world. What would u do if the money dried up.

Jred, who are you referring to?

I don't think Red Man would demand the best if we couldn't afford the best jred. Truth of the matter is Fellaini was a Moyes buy and most certainly a panic buy. Never a United style player, but has always given his best. He'd be in the blue of Napoli now had United and Napoli agreed a price last summer. I think £10m is about right. I have a feeling his wages are higher than most believe.

It's looking increasingly like a midfielder will come in very soon and although Matic is 29, he does have a good five years left in the Carrick position and there's not many who can do that job as well as Matic. He doesn't rely on pace therefore barring injury could play there for many years. He'd come in and immediately make that position his own. He was also a late developer in football terms, so maybe we haven't seen the best of him yet?

Players come and go, some outstay their welcome for too long, but that's the clubs' fault for paying them over inflated salaries and pricing them out of moves away from the club.

He was a man United buy .
What would some fans do if we couldn't pay mega wages and transfer fees?

Support an other club?

Welcome back Syd.

I wouldn't have signed Fellaini but he has always played with full commitment and scored some important goals, I also believe he is a popular character in the dressing room which is important as we try and build a true team mentality.

Imagine swapping Fellaini for Sanchez, most people would be delighted to lose plan B for one of the best players in the EPL. However, look at Sanchez's behaviour and think how that would fit with our values and how might that impact morale.

Fellaini has been booed by our own fans which was disgraceful, he isn't my cup of tea, I'd rather w hadn't signed him, but his treatment bÅ· fans has been shabby.

I find the OP an embarrassment, for a supporter who professes to support a club for over 40 years to link the signing of Fellani to an embarrassing period for the club. Fellani's skills doesn't match the club's values, pray tell me what these club's values are?
A certain player is idolised by many, yet he walked out on the club more than once, refused to play, but is deemed a club great, what club value does that highlight?
We had a manager who was having an affair with the club physio's wife, yet another club value?
Over your 40 years watching you must have been embarrassed for nearly half of that period because we have certainly signed plenty of players that had similar or even less ability to Fellani's.
You really need to get over your hate for Moyes, after all, you told us all that LVG was the answer, like to run through his 'embarrassing' transfers or talk us through the scintillating attacking football (club values? ) that he produced.
I'd like to see your list of club values, presumably your happy to tell us all.

Redman jred is a spokesman for all decent fans in his own little world the fact is he is an embarrassment as a fan imo because he accepts, condones and supports mediocrity has no real anbition and wants the club to retain under achieving players. A absolute disgrace of a fan imo and has the nerve to critisise other fans. A joke character imo.

Wasn't long ago Chelsea almost had a midfield or Pogba and Matic with Jose as manager.

Thanks AJH, and yes I cringed when the fans booed Fellaini. Happened to Carrick at times too and he's turned out to be an excellent investment. Fellaini is actually a good player, just not for our traditional style of play. Surprised teams like WBA and Stoke aren't keen on him though. I guess wages could be an issue.

You really are the most unpleasant poster on here pal.
I support my club I support my players . Good or bad thick or thin, you said you don't care about our history your only interested in the future .
That's the mentality I had when I was playing but not the mentality I had as a fan.
As a fan it's not about what we might win it's about what we have won together .
I'm not a glory hunting fan who supports players of other teams more than there own, or only cares about winning trophies.
I'm a man United fan good or bad.

Keanooh

49 years to be exact

Yes I have seen plenty of embarrassing times during those years. I was at the Denis Law back heel game in 74 and was devastated. I remember Ted McDougal and Ralphie Milne and a right lot of dross at times and watched inadequate managers being appointed and inevitably fired, hence the anger at throwing it all away with another, Moyes
I did not think LVG was the answer, try again! I wanted Klopp after Moyes not LVG and said so on here. At least be accurate if you are trying to make a point
My club values came from Busby and I trod a lot of hard miles in the years when the Scousers and City had success so I don't take lectures from Jred on glory hunting.
