This season my 4 cbs would be Bailly, Lindelof, Rojo ( depending how he is after bad injury) and Tuanzebe, jones 5th choice. I don't see any future for Smalling, he should be sold. After Matic our CM is fine with Hererra, Pogba, Matic, Carrick, then Peirera. Lukaku gives a whole new dimension. He will be a great signing. Our stand out problem area is LB, and probably an out and out wide attacker. I'd be much more confident if we addressed these positions before the window closes.

I for one think with the addition of Matic, we have a very powerful squad. Granted, an out an out left sided attacker would be nice, but Tony can nail that position for his own this season if he plays to the level we all know he can on a consistent basis.

Stand, It is funny because a couple of years ago with the LVG 6 man defence Smalling was the second coming of Rio on here. Couple of years later he is now found out. Players come and go constantly but it is surprisingly how youngsters get show the door so quick yet bang average players hang around for so long.

Those that saw Smalling at Fulham would know too well that he's a calamity waiting to happen. Own goal and gave away a shocking penalty on his debut for them. Not long after we payed £12m for him which was like £25-30 in todays market. People who look beyond stats can see who is a good footballer and who isn't.
