Just out of interest, wonder how many of us posters voted for us to be Champions at the end of the season. I didn't but of course I would love to be proven wrong.
I saw a team last night in Real Madrid that had excellent fullbacks who wanted to attack. A midfield that felt so comfortable on the ball and in modric and Kroos they had two superb passers of the ball. Up front, they had the trickery of Isco and a fantastic attack. The whole team was set up to attack and be offensive.
I watched our team, fullbacks who are scared to cross the halfway line which played into Madrid's hands. All play going through the middle where Madrid wanted us to play as they could control the play. As a result, I saw pogba having a nightmare of a game. An attack clearly devoid of ideas as everything is squashed down the middle. I also a team lacking anyone who can get you off your seat with the odd dribble or skill.
I also don't see us changing our tactics for the PL.
This team still needs a left back, a winger, a good midfielder who can pass and control the tempo. But we also need the manager to be courageous and take the shackles off the team and allow them to express themselves.
Let's see what will happen come the start of the season, but at the moment, we still look the same as last year.

When all the prediction no are in, I'll publish the sheet for all to see. I hear what you're u are saying Schmid but you do se them empty half of the glass. As I have said many times, we are not the finished article by any stretch but we have enough quality to compete domstically, and I still think we will sign more.

I think we will win it, because we will grind better this season. Those draws will be wins, we won't be the best team (by far) but I think we will be the most boringly consistent and that may nick us the title, as there are a lot of good teams who will take points off of one another.

Jeez Beast, you make winning the title sound like a disappointment. I hear what you are saying but I think against the "lesser" teams we will be more dominant and attacking this year.

Is it me or does anyone else think Herrera's performance against Madrid was poor and suspect?

He just couldn't get playing his game?

Ronnie, it's not just you and whilst it's great to see you actually comment, read the posts and you'll see many others have highlighted this.

Give him a chance, he's just back from injury and won player of the season last year for God's sake.

Tony. It's not a matter of glass half full, do you honestly believe hand on heart that we'll win the league this year? I don't as we've not strengthened enough while City have. Not to mention Chelsea and spurs were 20 odd points ahead of us.
Our play is still boringly predictable and we haven't bought a player to change that.
We have a midfielder playing left back, a winger playing right back, attackers being asked to play as wingers. It's shambolic and does not fill me with confidence or excitement. But there's still time in the window so let's see what happens.

Schmid

I don't buy the points in front argument, we last won the league by 11 points and people said other teams had 11 points to make up and it was too much. We finished 7th.

We need a full back and a No7 at the top level (not Perisic) to compete at the top. I have us third or second at best as things stand.

Red man, I agree with that although I'd happily take 2 full backs.
