In my opinion, this was rashford's worst performance ever for us.
He really needs to improve his decision making, and concentrate more on creating than turning to his right and having a shot.

{Ed025's Note - thats very harsh if you ask me red one, hes a young lad who is very much still learning his trade and so you will always have peaks and troughs, jose done the right thing in bringing him off as he was not on the money yesterday but next week he could well score a hattrick, he can be a special talent but to heap pressure on him to perform every game is unfair imo mate..

Good reply ed025 and great to see you on this page.
I made the point yesterday that both rash and martial have done better coming off the bench. The game is more disjointed and they can make the most of the space afforded to them after the game is broken up. Both are inexperienced and don't yet have the nous and know how to create space when the game is still congested and the opposition still have 10 behind the ball. It will come for them as they gain experience.
Ed 025 whay don you make of everton. As a new team they have had a tough ruin of fixtures i expect some big improvements over the next 6 games. No goal scorer is going to be a problem. It will be interesting how koeman handles rooney i think he is a liability despite the odd moment of class. Hope to see things improve soon for everton and good to see you back on the page i think most of us would like to hear more from you mate. Always appreciate the honesty and unbiased opinion.
Cheers.

{Ed025's Note - i cant tell you how highly i rate rashford ken, for me he is one of the best young talents i have ever seen and he seems to be a well grounded young man as well which endears me to him even more, i dont think him getting stick off his own supporters for a poor performance helps though, on everton we are really looking off the pace at the moment, we played half decent yesterday but you cant make errors like we did and hope to gain anything against sides like utd, we have not gelled as we would have liked and not having a recognized CF is hurting us big time, wayne is having too much influence for me and everything it seems has to go through him, he gave the ball away a lot yesterday and should have been replaced a lot earlier, i dont think we are relegation material just yet but we do need to get our act together, koeman also needs to be more positive and play the likes of lookman more as hes one of the very few we have with pace mate..

Rashford was infuriating yesterday for me. Everyone has off days, but it's only fair to call them out as most of us are full of praise when he has on days. I think Rooney actually played better for us yesterday than Rashford did.

He looked unbothered, lazy and as a result his end product and basic skills were left wanting. I've seen him a fair bit on TV recently giving interviews and this may be a contributing factor. I don't know the kid, but my advice would be to ignore the hype, focus on your basic game and get back to doing the things you did to get you in this position.

It was one stand out bad game so no need to go overboard of course. But it is best to nip it in the bud now as these things have a habit of becoming trends especially with young kids, the media will knock them down just as quick as they build them up and at a young age it may be difficult to handle criticism, just like it seems he is struggling how to handle praise. Bad passes, control, finishing all happen, lack of desire is a symptom of something more troubling. We shouldn't jump to any "Rash" conclusions, but it's fair to criticise just as much as it is fair to praise.

{Ed025's Note - not for me beast, its easy to destroy a young lads confidence so give the guy a break i say mate..

Agreed Ed25, people expect the lad to perform every time. He's 19, for his age he's already streets ahead of a lot of players in the league.

{Ed025's Note - exactly mate..

Yes i agree ed think you guys will be fine.
Rash is good and his character appears to be good. England have some great young strikers in solanke abraham lookman calvert-lew and rash. I think rash is head n shoulders above the rest in 2 years he will be 21 and will be a real force.

{Ed025's Note - i expect him to be englands CF for many years ken..

Ed
I think everton have a me very important players missing through injuries. Coleman, bolasie are an entire wing together. I think things will improve once they're back.

{Ed025's Note - i hope so IMBS but we look poor at the moment, i expect us to improve though mate..

I get your point ed025 and don't get me wrong I'm a huge supporter of rashford, but the lad has so much potential and I would like to see him amongst the greats one day, but I watch players like mbappe and acensio and I want to see rashford put those caliber of performances on a weekly basis, he doesn't have to score a hat trick but at the very least be productive in a match.
I might be being harsh but it's tough love.

{Ed025's Note - not too tough though mate..

We are too soft on young people. Ultimately not many people (maybe Shan) are raging on Rashford, bad games happen and should be pointed out. We aren't managing him so frankly we can say what we want on here without ramifications for Rashford.

If you are old enough to play for Man Utd and to be paid a fortune for doing so, then you should be subject to criticism. People mature at different times. It's nothing to get overboard about, but we have to call a spade a spade, same rules that apply to Miki, Jones, Shaw should apply to Rashford. I'm pretty confident none of us know Rashford too well, maybe a boot up the backside would suit him better than an arm around the shoulder - that said a quiet word would suffice after yesterdays awful display imo. But if you can take the positives then you should be able to take the negatives - mans game!

For the record I do not think he will be leading the line for Utd in years to come. Lukaku will until he is replaced by a more "glitzy" signing in a few years time. I haven't seen too much improvement in Rashford since he first blasted onto the scene which is a bit concerning for me personally.

Totally agree with that Beast. that's sort of my whole bloody point with Rashford. Everybody knows the talent he possesses but if its not being put to use, what's the point of it. Look at Jesus, Asensio, Mbappe. Rashford's name should be taken among them but isnt. Why? Obviously something's amiss. Yesterday he looked uninterested. Not running. At one point he was standing on the ball and i thought ref had blown the whistle so he must be waiting. It is infuriating when you know that he has the potential but isn't delivering. his decision making is poor for a footballer plying his trade with Manchester United. He seems selfish and always looking to strike even though there is a wall of 4 defenders right in front of you. Pass it for god sakes.

Yes he is 19, but he has been a first team regular now for 2 full seasons and barring a handful of games, i haven't seen the best of him. Does he do enough to replace Lukaku at United? No. Does he do enough to replace Kane with England? No. Where does that leave him? He isn't a striker because he doesn't have that striker's instinct and that doesn't come with age. Its natural. Roonet at 19, Owen at 19 were destroying defences left right and centre and Rash is not.

Its ok if you are atleast trying to make things happen but they aren't coming off, but to be uninterested is a bad omen for him. I bet he has the fear of Martial. Martial is playing better football than Rashford and i see him a regular in the team before Rashford.

Its amazing how people see things differently Shan everything you scream about rash in terms of movement off the ball, effort, demeanour i scream the same for martial. I think rash looks like he is trying twice as hard as martial.
The main difference is that kane and jesus are playing 90 mins every week in their preferred position.
I understsnd where your coming from and your opinion you are neither right nor wrong i suppose it's just your genuine opinion and your entitled to it.
You loved rooney right up to the end where he started to grate on me 4 years ago people just see things in different ways.
Voicing your opinion on here never constitutes hate or abuse on here as much as some people try to make it seem that way. Keep voicing your opinion just like beast does. We won't always agree on everything but i enjoy reading all opinions.

Lol an opinion is great everyone has them some are valid some a nonsense .
A bit of banter a bit of a discussion

The problem is that people start to draw a line in the sand it gets to the point that its quite obvious that some fans on here start to want a player to have a poor game are pleased when he does . It justifys there negativity.

I would be surprised if anybody wanted a united player to have bad game just so they can say I told you so, imo you would need to be of that mind-set to even think that, only a sort of bitter twisted little man could even think like that.

Reading eds thoughts on Rooney in the Everton team sounds like myself for the past 4 or so years at United 😃. Glad I don't have to feel like that about him any more to be honest. Happier to remember the good times now that he isn't infuriating me and being detrimental to the team.

Rashford could become a great player, just chill and accept that he'll be great sometimes and not so at other times for the next few years. Martial is the same for me but I'll give them some time as they could both be great for us in the years ahead. Both still young and learning.

Your wrong. Never want anyone to play badly. Ill say if they play well or badly. That's a weird mentality you have to think that.
You made 4 separate posts yesterday including live chat on valencia goal being better than youngs cross or words to that affect. I don't think from that you don't want young to do well but that you enjoyed valencias response to a good young performance. If you think any poster thinks like that i think you are sadly mistaken and a little sad really. That's just weird.
