Did we lose yesterday or something,
Boys it's a good sign if we play bad and still win, I think rashford is getting very unfair criticism. i hope it doesn't turn in to having a go at him all season like Rooney last year.
Sometime it's hard to play against teams that get most of their team behind the ball.
Looking forward to the city game.
Onwards and upwards.

Yeah good win leahy and it was never in doubt imo.
Rash is olaying ok i don't see any issue personally. Not sure he is getting loads of stick i saw 3 or 4 negative posts about his display yesterday (which was below average) but i don't think that constitutes a huge amount of abuse or stick don't fall into the trap of one of our rgular hyberbole posters of exagerating everything and just making stuff up leahy😂😂😂
Btw dubs saw off mayo yesterday even though i'm from dub was up for mayo.

I'm happy the way the season is going anyway so far. 2 great signings matic and lukkaku,
Mayo were robbed. Great game though.

It was in doubt for me right up until we got the 2nd. In my humble opinion anybody saying they felt comfortable throughout that game are guilty of putting the finishing score ahead of the performance we were watching. Everton looked the most likely team to score from 20mins in, (when they realised we were not as good as the media have made out and decided to try and make a game of it), we made defensive substitutions to contain and fortunately we managed to be ruthless again when it mattered. They looked fitter despite us having 2 days extra to prepare and being the home team dominating early posession.

There is nothing over the top about criticising our play of late. The results have papered over a lot of 6/ 10 performances, just the same as last year in the cups. We'll get a good hiding playing against Chelsea, City, Spurs or good CL teams if we play like we have so far this season (aside from the first game) . There is a hell of a lot to work on, results are great but we expected 13 points from the first 5 games - I think in our heart of hearts most of us expected to be playing better, but the results have skewed things imo.

How did everton look more likely to score when we had treble their attempts beast.
I understand you feel the need to justify your negativity and your predictions but your talking nonsense.
Sours are playing crao why should they give us a hiding city how did they do against everton. I don't forsee the hidings you do but then again i'm not predicting them like you have been.

I'm sorry beast but that's a load of crap mate we play some scintillating stuff we look solid and in lukaku we have goals and link up play and I very much doubt anyone will give us a "hiding" this season will we lose games? Yes of course we will but the continued battering of our performances is becoming more boring than an LVG training session.

My personal belief is by Xmas there will only be 2 teams in a title race ourselves and city and it's a tough one to call who will edge it as we both have pros and cons .

Loath as I am to defend the beast I do wish that we looked slightly more watertight at the back. We gave away 2 bad goals against stoke and I can't imagine a Kane or an Aguero letting us off the way Rooney did yesterday. Also I was alarmed at how much space was available for Everton on our left side especially in the first half.
That said it was another efficient performance by us and with Southampton and palace to follow hopefully another 6 points should be forthcoming.

I didn't watch it leahy i'm not into gaa football enjoy the hurling though. Yep so far so good the issue will o ly come if we need to start the likez of darmian fellaini smalling blind etc in more than 20 league games. Not even matic and lukaku can cover them. let's hope key players don't get injured.

I'm not being negative, I'm just not being overly positive. I'm just calling it as I saw it. I was genuinely worried, I cashed out my bet, I could see us slowing down, gravitating backwards, inviting Everton to attack and they had some very good chances. Fortunately we were ruthless again, but that game was not always in the bag, Everton could easily have done a Stoke.

If we play how we did yesterday against top teams we will get shown up. Real Madrid are the only top team we have played and they outclassed us.

Everton have been off colour and typically 4-0 would be an amazing result, in fact it was a great result. But for much of the game nobody would have predicted 4-0 at all, it was in the balance - Pickford barely had to make a save until we blitzed them.

As quite a few pointed out it was only really Shan that got his knickers in a twist .

Ken
Love that line about "justifying your negativity "

It can't be a coincidence that during the last 10 minutes we are smashing teams it shows a level of mental and physical strength that we haven't had for years I'm chuffed with our start there definitely areas that need improvement but not by much imo.

I think we've played pretty well this year apart from yesterday when I thought we allowed Everton to dominate us at OT. Still, you can't be great every game and we did win 4-0 so all's well that ends well.

This is a great site during transfer windows as the Eds have some amazing info. However it's very negative once the season is up and running. We win 4-0 again and people are on here moaning. Absolutely ridiculous. The way we tore Everton apart in the last 15 minutes was sublime. This was a team the amazing and mighty City scraped a point against at home by the way.

Finally some sense Eric! . Good performance yesterday . It was matches like yesterday we were drawing last year.

Eric - Only a few people are moaning about the performance. The vast majority are shooting people like me down for being critical, so not too sure how you think the site is negative.

That performance was by no means vintage, so frankly I don't care if it was better or worse result wise. I know for sure there was a lot of room for improvement which bodes well for us. Watch West Ham match then any other game this season and it's like watching two different teams. Don't we all strive to have performances like the West Ham one every week?

We all strive for perfection in everything we do - we just very rarely achieve it. We are putting teams away 4-0 rather than 1-1 like last year I don't see the need to highlight any perceived deficiencies.

The improvements on performance and results are so far tangible and markedly improved. We drew a lot of these games 1-1 last year that we are now winning easily. Enjoy it.

Beast do u expect us to play perfectly till the end what wins u tittle at times is to be able to win games even when u don't play too well as regards real Madrid they did not outclass us we just didn't take our chances en route to winning for champions league in 2008 Barcelona had all the possesion created all the chances but scholes scored and we won would u say Barcelona outclassed or would u say real Madrid ain't world class because they drew with levante? So far the team has played well there is room for improvement no doubt but first acknowledge the fact we are playing well and are better off than we were last season because games like this last season was a draw.

Tunnel vision is an unfortunate condition and beast is exhibit A of that phenomenon.

I understand beast's need to berate our team on a weekly basis just because baby don't like jose, but this shtick has gotten very annoying.

Just for a change, try getting behind the team and see what happens.

I will grant you that i was nervous up until the 83rd minute but name one club's fan who won't be given the always tricky 1-0 scoreline, but the point that eludes you is that the score could have been 3-0 by halftime, such was the level of performance from us in the first half an hour and also that this game could have easily been a draw but that fact that the lads kept pushing comes from uptop and that to me is an improvement that fans just can't ignore.
