So the excitement or is that nerves are starting to jangle, the fixture of any season, always love but hate this fixture at the same time and certainly will define fans mood for the forseeable.
Liverpool probably need the win more than us but wouldn't it be great to go 10 clear already or them.
United I expect to be cautious, especially first 25 mins but offer a threat on the counter attack.
Mane out, Couts and Firmino travelled to and from Brazil, Pogba obvs out, Fellaini who has proved a key player for us out, I think that will be a big blow for us actually.
A draw will be viewed a good result of course, but looking at City's next 2 games Stoke (h) Burnley (h) and us having Chelsea and Spurs upcoming i'd like us to have a go at that Liverpool defence, we shall see but one thing I know is it'll be an unbearable day with some of my scouse supporting mates it we lose.

I agree with everything there WRD. I believe we will be cautious starting off. I think we will be looking to hit them on the counter and open the scoring. As the game goes on it will open up and I think Liverpool will become more stretched.

Although it's a type of one off game where form goes out the window, I really believe we will put at least 2 past them tomorrow and could really punish them. I cannot see how they will be able to handle us going forward, their defence and resolve looks very shaky at the moment and we could put a few past them.

I just hope our defence stays solid and doesn't make any mistakes.

Im with you guys. This is my favourite fixture of any season. The game i always most want us to win and never to lose. Great rivalry and i have great respect for their history and records if i had my way liverpool would be 2nd in every competition every year because if there is one thing better than liverpool losing its liveroool nearly winning then losing😂😂
That aside i think tomorrow is a huge game for both sides and could possibly be the spring board for the winners to really kick on for the next few matches. If we win and i do expect us to then we go 10 points clear of them. We then make all those people that say we haven't been tested take notice. It will top up the squads confidence and give us real mental strength going into the spurs and chelsea matches coming up.
If liverpool win they will come out of the slump be banging their hairy german chests and win a few games until their next inevitable mini slump. A draw would not be a bad result for either side.
I suspect that jose may go with 3 at the back.
Id prefer 4 and the set up that's been working but jose while i'm sure he believes we can win will approach it as a must not lose game firstly.
For me its all about couthino stop he and to a lesser extent salah then that's the attack nullified. Herrera may be asked to do a job on couts like he did on hazard before.
Their defence is poor particularly on the left so i expect toni v to exploit that and for either rash or martial to torment gomez or TAA.
Matic has to be at his aggresive best closing down spaces and tracking runners and i think lukaku will be like a beast tomorrow to show the world he can do it on the big occasion running channels closing down hold the ball up well and getting on the end of chances, his work rate tomoorow will show us if he is the real deal and wants to be the best.
Miki not traditionally great in the fastest paced games. The harum scarum games have not been his best. But he is playing with great confidence he will want to deliver tomorrow to prove that he can operate when everything is 100mph.
I can't wait.
Herrera and bailly need to show cool heads. Both can get a bit excitable at times. Tomorrow is about keeping cool heads under the most extreme pressure. Keep the crowd quiet for 1st 20 mins give them no encouragement.
Lose and its a crap weekend win and its like a bank holiday weekend.
All i want is for tbe players tomorrow to do themselves justice to give their all in every minute and to walk off the pitch with their heads held high and lukaku to be carring the match ball after his hat trick.
