Fair few media outlets saying tonight we are offering Rojo a new contract. i'm not a huge fan, I appreciate he has done well at times but if we are looking to win a very tough PL and compete in the CL we need to upgrade gradually on players like Rojo, Blind, Fellani, Darmian (young to see out his contract) also Lindelof needs to cement a place reasonably quickly. I would be moving ROjo on myself.

Agree rojo has performed well for us but we need a serious upgrade to partner bailly. Jones, lindelof, tuanzebe and fosu mensah would do well as backup.

Between now and the summer window we should see 4 in 4 out and that should put us in a great position squad wise. Big improvment in our young players like rash martial and lindelof and maybe shaw is to be expected and lukaku should be well settled .
A big plus will be sanchez coming back fresh in the summer with no world cup to play.

I agree I love Rojo’s passion but he has a mistake in him and is incredibly rash at times. He also always hoofs the ball up the pitch aimlessly instead of looking for a pass. We need to have cbs that can start the attacks from the back and in that way Lindelof is streets ahead of our other defenders as he is very cultured on the ball.

With all the CB’s that we currently have we don’t have a commanding one to play alongside Baily or Jones. Lindelof needs more time.
Smalling and Rojo should be moved on and a single replacement of top quality to come in.
I have nothing against Blind, Darmian and Young but they should also be moved on with a new LB brought in.
Then we can have TFM, Valencia for RB, Shaw plus one other as LB.
Carrick to retire, Zlatan to be released, Fellaini likely to leave, question mark over if Herrera will stay. A new CM player to come in and McTomminay to be in the squad.
Then possibly a wide player or forward to come in.
The squad needs trimming so that the good younger players get more of a chance and that we provide quality above quantity in signing new players.

I still think Lindelof will turn out great. He had a bad start, but he's young and for some players it takes time to get used to the league. I think Jose is managing him well at the moment, playing him just the right amount to get used to it.

I would be tempted to get rid of smalling and Rojo and promote tunazebe properly. He has got so much talent and 4 cbs of Bailly, Lindelof, Jones and tuanzebe is pretty good imo. But with Jones and even bailly’s dodgy injury records I think we would have to sign another centre back. Someone like umtitti or varane. But I do think Lindelof will turn good and will be a hell of a player once he settles properly.

Id imagine Bailly/ Lindelof will be the longterm pairing. Tuanzebe for the future. Jones an rojo as cover. I agree we need to sell one. And i'd sell Smalling and rojo. But maybe the funds aren't there for a centre back this summer not with needing to sign a couple of midfielders and a fullback.

I would like Tuanzabee and TFM to be fully integrated into the first team squad and just as importantly be given their best position .

Reading Jack Rodwell interview today, he was Evertons youngest player to play in Europe, made his debut for England and was said to be the future captain of Everton all at CENTRE HALF. but he was put in midfield as he was told 'you can develop there with less responsibility" a bit of a kop out really by the coaching staff. anyway he says now he wished he would have stuck to his guns and said he wasnt a midfielder he was a centre half and that's where he should play.

{Ed025's Note - hes still earning £70k a week and has 18 months left on his contract BFB so dont feel too sorry for him mate..

Lindelof is still very young to be a cb in this league at a top team. I also think he will come good and will be a good foil for bailly.

I'm not not fellainis biggest fan but jose likes the options he gives from the bench so if he stays its because the manger wants him to.

I agree Lindelof looks good.

Rojo doesn't make negative noises when not in team and appears very committed. He had a good spell next to Bailly before he got injured and I would be happy for him to stay. With a run he could cement first place with Bailly again. If we ever try to switch to 3 at the back then he comes into LCB very nicely.

I wouldn't have CB high on recruitment list, but I would list Damian and Blind as surplus.

I would Smalling and Darian first. Smalling although fit always doesn't take responsibility when ball is in his area. Seems to shy away from the ball and making decisions. I know he became pro footballer late in his career. And it is evident with his passing aswell. Give Tuanzebe a go when he comes back from loan from Aston Villa.

Hi ed 025 and 001.
What impact do you think the signing of sanchez will have on our team?

{Ed025's Note - he can only improve utd for me ken hes world class, my only worry would be the flaws in his personality because he is a bit of a sulker at times, once you get past the ludicrous wages thing though you have a player who will score goals create chances and will bring energy and speed to uniteds attack, he would improve any side in the world and could be the missing piece in the jigsaw that could mean the difference in finishing runners up or just missing out on top 4 mate..

ED 025 -Yes I saw that, that was the basis for the article he won't teat up his contract 80k a week . and he isn't playing and has been told he won't be either.

I was really thinking more along the lines of young players getting played in their position and making it their own, getting moved around can disrupt their development.

Thanks for your comment, keep up the good work EDS!

{Ed025's Note - when he was a youngster at everton he looked the real deal BFB, we all thought his future lay as a centre back but obviously the coaches seen different and even at sunderland was played as a DM, his problems may have been more about being a young lad on fantastic money than on where he played though, also the weight of expectation was a factor in his demise but i find it hard to find sympathy for guys like him when nurses are having to use food banks to exist mate..
