Still seems to be quite a bit of negativity on here at the moment. But put that first half aside and the under 12 style defending on the second goal and that was a good performance.
For the first time watching us in a long time once we made it 2-1 you could see the desire to get the win. Perhaps most importantly you could see it from the manager. For the first time in a long time I've seen the old Jose Mourinho, he looked to have the hunger for the fight. This comeback could be huge in the grand scheme of things.
Onto the players, Sanchez very poor, but he is trying things, some fantastic passes some awful ones. Happens with near enough all the top players because they play with risk. Pogba awful first half, second half when the game opened up I thought he was actually quite good. He really got us up the pitch at times and really grew into the game. Needs to do a lot more though!
Lukaku gets plenty of stick but he is a goalscorer, great composure for his goal. Matic hit a worldie, our goal of the season so far. Lindelof I feel very sorry for, Smalling is all over the shop and it just doesn't help him. He was great against Sevilla and Chelsea, he was in good form but tonight Smalling was back to being erratic. Need bailly in there with him.
All in all a great result, and let's see where this takes us. But it's bloody brilliant to see that fight back, finally showed some balls for one of the first times since 2013.
Caolán.
PS De Gea is the best keeper on the planet.

I agree Caolan.
It’s a bit too early for anyone to slag off Sanchez I feel. He joined not long ago and still trying to find how he fits into team. There will always be a dip before hitting the top for anyone. Some takes longer time but I am confident Sanchez will adapt and come good soon.
As for Smalling I am quite convinced he should be lower in line for the role and we should have find a better defender or replacement. He is not consistent and may let down the team during crucial matches. He is ok but not as good as I would hope for being spoilt by the likes of Fer and Vid.

I think Lindelof needs a steadier partner, bailly and him could work well.

Doesn't need to worry on Sanchez. a top top player. Only thing is he is too light weight for a second striker and Jose seems reluctant to play by wings. our wingers are always in the middle of the pitch. making easy to defend by over crowding and pushing off. this is costing Sanchez.

Lindelof had a poor game looked nervous from the start and got bullied.
Pogba had a poor first half but was trying his best to get on the ball second he didn't look interested.
I don't think Sanchez will ever of played that bad.

If everyone casts their minds back to when we signed pogba ed 001 said something along the lines of because of the way he moves and carries himself it always looks like he’s being lazy or putting no effort in and that he would eventually be criticised for it.

{Ed001's Note - good memory mate. He is very laidback and his running style is languid, but he can still cover a lot of ground without looking like he is moving.}

Id be nervous in that defence. Especially with Smalling because you just don't know which version will turn up. Sometimes its the solid version, sometimes its Bambi on ice.

Ken Lindelof was poor again.

I’m a fan of lindelof but I thought he struggled last night. In fact that whole back 4 doesn’t fill me with confidence. Bailly and shaw need to be reinstated. The best thing is to go for a back 3 against Liverpool which allows us to play two up top. Lukaku and martial up too with Sanchez behind and matic and pogba in a midfield two is more than enough to cause Liverpool problems. I would love a back 3 if bailly lindelof Rojo with Valencia and shaw as wing backs. I’m not sure Rojo will be fit unfortunately but I would have him above smalling and Jones.

It wasn't pogba languid style that was the issue last night but lack of effort and commitment.
Looks lost at the moment.
