Michael Carrick

It's interesting to me to read about the discussion in the dressing room at half time against citeh. Not surprisingly the senior players lead the discussion with Michael being one of those. It makes me wonder how central he was? Is he a good motivator? Listening to the players talk about him he is clearly held in high esteem and very well respected. That's not surprising.
I wonder if we have a future Manchester United manager coming through the ranks?
He certainly seems to get what United are about and is passionate about the club.
I will be watching on with interest!

It was really interesting reading the comments from the players Mike. Especially Pogba's ones regarding the influence Carra has on him and the runs he was telling him to make. Clearly is very well respected and admired by the current bunch of players.

I must admit I never looked at him as a motivator or vocal presence such as a keane or a ferdinand, but more of a scholes who let his actions speak louder than words. However, Carrick has always had a very good footballing brain and is clearly an intelligent individual and I for one would be ecstatic if he is being groomed as a potential united manager if he has the ability to do so. Its this sort of planning that we have been missing and who else to promote as manager than a player who knows what it is like to play for united and understands the values of the club. However he has to have the ability and not be considered on sentiment or reputation alone. I will also be watching in interest as it is clear both jose and the players have an enormous amount of respect for him.

He would certainly be a better choice than Giggs, seems a lot brighter when he talks, has had to read a lot of games over the years and in general just seems to be a nicer person (not difficult I would imagine) . Not saying he should get the job any time soon, but I can certainly see him in a top managerial role more so than Giggs.

Folks as I have mentioned I feel Carrick would be a good manager for us. Hopefully after Jose leads us to a title or a double or triple and relinquish to Carrick.
Carrick has always been a better thinker than Goggs. Giggs is a player and deliverer. Carrick is a strategist and solution provider. Carrick will definitely be a more successful manager than Giggs. Just like Nicky Butt. He is a good coach but not necessarily a good manager. Carrick doesn’t talk much but when he talks most listen. I hope our club does not release him to other clubs. We need to give him the opportunity to progress to become a manager of the club.

Spot on guys. Carrick strikes me as someone who would be a very good man manager as well as tactically sound. Not sure why but I see a bit of pep in Carrick. I loved Giggs as a player but I don’t think he has it in him to be a top manager. I might be wrong but appointing him would be a mistake. From our current bunch of players I can see Herrera and mata being accomplished managers.

Wow, the analysis of Carrick on here is stunning. I love him as a player but I hadn’t realised he was a strategist and solution provider. As for Giggs, let’s see how he does at Wales before writing him off.

Of all the managers who have never managed a game he’s definitely the best AJH.

RWWD, yes but he’s still underrated.

All I was saying was I wonder if he has potential?

Not . he will deliver Utd the treble in 2022.
