It's a shame about Martial wanting to leave. I'm a big fan of his but I think with most of his performances, my heart ruled my head. It's the curious case of when footballers don't play they tend to become better players. Always calling for their inclusion when they're not selected but when they do play, they don't put down a marker.

I think Martial is and will become a much better player than Rashford but he's obviously not going to be content with only playing a handful of games. I was really worried when Jose said he wasn't going to recruit any more attacking players after the signing of Sanchez. I was worried because Lukaku, Sanchez, Mata, Martial, Rashford and Lingard in my opinion with whatever combination of them you play, haven't showed that they are clinical enough when it matters over the course of a season. (Lukaku is excused) .

Martial will more than likely go on and become a world class player but right now I'm looking forward to the player that will hopefully replace him. Bale or Griezmann would be the dream. We need a truly world class attacking player if we want to catch City and improve in Europe.

The only thing I'm worrued about is what type of fee we can receive. We have been negligent in the past when we sell our players. We get bent over a barrel when we buy and seem to get bent over a barrel when we sell.

Sorry to see you go Tony but I'm incredibly excited about your replacement!

Mumbles. If you grossly overpay for a player in the first place, you can never recoup your money, especially when a player has performed below expected potential. I like Martial when he hits one of his inconsistent highs but the clubs that can afford inflated prices are not going to bite unless they see real consistent value. Unless we cease be so daft in the buying market we will always suffer when selling. We need, among some real grafters among the stars we have players who know that there place depends on weekly team performance not profile. Talk of Ronaldo and Bale makes me cringe. The are are at the peak of their career, will only come for top dollar and however we'll they might transform the team will depreciate rapidly especially as we will have overpaid to start with.

I can't say I'm disappointed if he's going. A few moments of brilliance but he's hardly Giggs. I think he slows down the play too much, always pausing and letting defenders get back into position before trying to beat them rather than knocking it and going when he has the advantage which is more like Rashford plays. Defensively he is a liability and in todays game you can't carry players, you have to attack and defend as a team. I'll stick my neck out and say I don't think he'll ever be a top player and that's a shame because he has the talent but can't be bothered with the effort. We know someone else like that as well who I also wouldn't be bothered if they left the club.
