Anyone watch the France game? I did and was watching the post match analysis and have to say, Pogba really cannot win. The whole freaking panel are in agreement that Pogba was the flop, despite getting the winner and creating the first goal. Not one word on Toliso who I really did not see once. Not to mention Griezmann who was inefective and Dembele who was non existent. Kante got a rating of 9/ 10, media darling😂.
Moment Matuidi came one I knew Pogba would get forward and have an impact. Poor game from france though.

{Ed004's Note - I have to agree 100% with this statement. This wasn't his best performance but he was still the only creative threat in that game. In the first half he was unfortunate not to play Mbappe through on goal and there were some other very nice passes to players like Griezmann. I thought he kept it simple, played some nice passes and defended well. There was even urgency in his pressing. That alone would be enough for most midfielders to get praise let alone the fact he played a massive part in both goals}

Spot on unruly and ed I was thinking exactly the same thing. Pogba gets criticised for not keeping it simple when he tries a bit of magic, and then gets criticised for keeping it safe. It wasn’t one of his best performances but he was tidy in possession and influenced the game. It’s actually becoming a bit of an agenda to scapegoat pogba whenever he plays. He does get criticism because he is so so talented, but most of the time he is just an easy target.

I agree that Kante, griezmann and tolisso where all poor. It’s difficult for a midfielder to have an great game if the other two are playing poorly. Pogba cannot do it on his own. I read an interesting comment on twitter that the selection of the two full backs was poor by deschamps as they offered nothing going forward in comparison to sidibe and Mendy. It was like watching united this season. France have so much talent and I would have had them as favourites. But with deschamps in charge I cannot see them winning.

He's getting more comment because he's the only one out of those you've mentioned, that plays in the Premiership. I thought he had a simple, average game. Maybe we expect more?

France were average today as was pogba .
Panel talking about an English based player but also an on going issue with the form best position of pogba .
Pogba not been great for France for a good few games so it's more of an issue that griezmann and co having a bad day.

Park, I actually thought the exact same thing watching that game, very much like United last season. Very good players not playing to their potential. Maybe it's something to do with the coach and tactics.

Jred I agree that Pogba hasn't been great for France, but today he made the difference. You would think they would at least acknowledge that fact. And this being the world cup the analysis should be of all players not just the Premier league players. And in any case Kante, Griezmann, Dembele, Theo, Mbappe etc all play for Clubs as big as Utd, why not criticize them? For the record am not saying Pogba had a stormer, just saying he was not the worst as is being made out to look.

I think the main thing for pogba is that although he lines up on paper as a central midfielder, he really does spend most of his time on the left side of the pitch and whichever team he plays in gets lopsided with a left back, left winger and pogba.

Probably why he excelled at juve in 4-3-1-2 or 5-3-2 under conte and allegri when there was plenty of space for him. Something jose should consider with sanchez also looking to play centrally as well.

Named Man of the Match by the BBC, so it's not all bad. Don't know who thought it would be a good idea to take Mark Lawrenson to Russia though.

I like Lawro, he’s old school but gives good value for money. There’s some good pundits around right now. The Neville’s we both good although Phil says ‘actually’ every other word. Rio is class, Danny Murphy talks common sense, Jenas is good, Keane tells it how it is, Shearer is better now he has opinion no, Wrighty divides opinions but I love his innocent passion. I hated Townsend on the radio but really like him on the radio.

I struggle with Keown who is too earnest and Henry who is trying to be enigmatic like Eric but comes across as an arrogant knob, probably because he is an arrogant knob. And then there is Savage who is just amateur but keeps getting gigs. I know not why.

Build up to the Denmark v Peru game, and what a shock, they're concentrating on Eriksson and Schmeichel. And now Nobby Solano's just walked in. I think we're looking for conspiracies and anti-utd bias, where it's not there. Lawrenson is a buffoon tho, I'll give you that.

AJH, Lawro talks a lot of nonsense and I find him arrogant towards other cultures and the younger generation. His comment when asked about Russian food, "no comment", for a nation with a respectable cuisine, that is dismissive, especially coming from someone from a nation where food is questionable.

As for Henry, he's just very French, nothing to do with arrogance, but I remember during the Euros, on French TV, Petit and Leboeuf (and Lizarazu if I'm not mistaken) they were having a philosophical debate about football, talking about Camus and Sartre as though like it's normal. That would come across as arrogant in the UK, when it's just cultural normal in France, no one would bat an eyelid.

"He's getting more comment because he's the only one out of those you've mentioned, that plays in the Premiership", think Noucamp is forgetting Kante plays for Chelsea there.

Ludwig, I was referring to the players mentioned by the poster, who disappointed in the game. Kante was his usual, busy, decent self.

Ludwig, he’s not arrogant, he’s just old, he doesn’t understand the new rules. He’s the kind of bloke who still calls women ‘love’ but I like him, he’s straight forward and doesn’t shirk an opinion. As for Henry, it’s his manner that grates, he is condescending and talks like he is the oracle of all things football, which having listened to his punditry he really isn’t.

Unruly. I watched the whole of the second half and pogba was the only player trying to create something. I thiught ge2had a good game.
Media are idiots as I've said many times before.

Keown and Jenas are absolute twits, ITV pundits win hands down down me, bbc’s are really poor.
