Ed02, if you don't mind, I'd like to ask for your opinion on Mourinho and the club moving forward with him?

It's still very early days, but his general demeanour and negative attitude don't exactly bode well and give much hope for the season.

It wouldn't be that much of a surprise if a meltdown ensues and he leaves / is sacked before next summer.

{Ed002's Note - Mourinho is a really nice guy and a really great coach. However, he is stuck in a city he doesn't like (understandable) because it is grim, wet and walking on the cobbled streets hurts the feet. A city which has zero culture which he will be missing, is blighted by smog, and where there are dead & dying pit ponies laying on the street. There remain a couple of people at the club who are convinced he is still really a Chelsea guy so he is not getting their full support. He knows he was not the preferred choice as manager and the toxic fans forced the unplanned change. Going forward, he will leave.}

Do the club currently have a plan in place if jose happens to leave suddenly ed?

For example do they have an idea of the sort of manager they would like to replace mourinho with if the situation arises.

{Ed002's Note - Next Thursday you mean? I would doubt the club has a plan for that.}

Ed002,

I am guessing a lot of that is tongue in cheek but I invite you to Manchester any time and I will show you around our 'zero culture' city you talk of, pretty offensive that to be honest a lot of us are very proud of where we come from.

{Ed002's Note - Maybe you should make the offer to Jose Mourinho who really doesn't like the place at all.}

You say he is a nice guy Ed002, but he still gets so much stick for being, apparently, an awful person?

{Ed002's Note - That would be the fickle and toxic fans.}

Hey Ed02 thanks for the info. A quick question on the strategy, obviously LVG inherited an ageing squad which had a sprinkling of poor Moyes additions. Was the plan for LVG to transition the team through the period of change lowering the average age of the team and to give more opportunities to players coming up through the youth teams, utilising a agreed tactical system of play then handing over to another manager after a set period of time who utilises a tactical system similar to that LVG was implementing?

{Ed002's Note - No, the club did not come up with any convoluted plans.}

I don't think anyone has said he's an awful person. I've heard and read lots of good thing about him, and away from football I'd bet any money he'd be good company. Unfortunately it's not away from football that's the issue.

Hey Ed02, thanks for the reply. It’s quite interesting to get snippets of info on the inner working with regards to strategy in terms of succession planning. I’ve been a business director for quite a few years and it’s one of the cornerstones of business. It sounds like the planning on the playing side from a staffing and tactical standpoint when compared to other businesses is very reactionary.

Really appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Rewz.

{Ed002's Note - The issue is that most coaches have jobs already.}
