No fan of the man but Neil Custis makes some balanced points about Jose at Utd. Mentioned Spurs and Liverpool fans rubbing their hands together, whereas Jose has won us more trophies than them in two seasons than in their last 10-15 years!

Also mentioned how he has picked up a squad which let's not forget was awful football and moral under LVG who got rid of the likes of Raphael, Welbeck and Evans who could all do a better job than half the dross he bought. Far worse than we see today.

Winning trophies playing this bad can only last so long. Last season we won nothing.

Same fans who moaned about Moyes moaned about LVG moaning about Jose prob moaned that we didn’t win 5-0 every game under Fergie aswell, maybe support the club instead of picking holes.

Best time to be a United fan post Sir Alex was the end of Van Gaal's second reason. Had three youngsters leading the attack in Rashford, Martial and Lingard and culminated in an FA cup win.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but if we could have just won an extra game that year we would have got top 4, kept LvG for another year, continued to develop Martial and Rashford and then get Allegri (and the DoF we had planned to join him) in to replace LvG and we would be doing just fine right about now.

Some fans on here will moan no matter who the manager is and all these calling for Zidane to replace Jose I bet it will be no better with him in charge as he sets up the same as Jose does its just he had better players to do it with at Madrid.

Maybe but I don't think allegri would've worked either but we'll never know. It is what it is and we are where we are. The next Choice has to be right, we can afford no more mistakes. But I have little confidence in the right choice being made.

The game has changed so much since the year 2000 . The formations the coaching the diets etc . The days of a SAF staying and managing the whole club are long gone. We need to get off the managers back and support our great club. 😆😆.

Well said BFRO, let's try and ignore the journalists and the pundits and let's get behind the team and the manager. A bit of perspective is needed. The team played badly and lost. I'm hopeful of a positive response from the team tomorrow.
