Shaw out of the Watford game as he has to follow a seven day return to play protocol for concusssion. Real shame because he's been our best player so far this season.

I'd like to see us play dalot at left back ahead of young on Saturday. I think we will because as we know Watford are a big physical side, and he's a big lad and very strong too. He would also offer us something going forward a bit like shaw has been doing.

You want us to play a 19 year who has just come back from injury and had no pre-season in a game away from home at an unbeaten side as his United debut, way to throw the lad in at the deep end. What if he struggles? Do we then all throw him under the bus and blame Woodward / Jose for buying a useless player?

Young for me with Dalot on the bench, bring him on if we are ahead.

And if Young plays and doesn’t do great he will just get pelters anyway. What’s wrong with wanting to see dalot play? He’s meant to be a big talent so why not see what he’s made off?

Caolan, as gds says, Dalot is a young 19yr old who has been injured and has just been signed and moved into a new country and a new league. You want to play him against an in form Watford side away from home, and who are very physical, and you want to play him out of position on the left. Are you seriously thinking this through? The mind boggles.

I have thought it through, and yes I’d still like to see him given a game. Played most of his football for Porto T left back. A good crosser of the ball strong and quick. I didn’t say he’s going to play but I’d like to see him play. That’s all I said.

In my opinion this isn't the game to play him in. There is a good chance of it being a potential banana skin, Jose has often hung the blame for losses around the necks of young players. If Dalot doesn't put in a man of the match performance, and we lose then his chances might be slim for the next month or so. Especially if he makes a costly mistake.

The lad only played a handful of games for Porto's first team. He is lacking experience at this level. To throw him in to a tricky away game so shortly after he has recovered from injury (I don't think he has played 90 minutes in any game since his injury) against a side yet to lose who play with a level of physicality he will have never experienced is just setting him up for a hiding to nothing.

I want to see him play as much as the next person, his performances for the under 23's looked very promising. However, his rehabilitation from the first big injury of his career has to be managed carefully, especially as he has moved country and is stepping up into a far more competitive league. It is important that he is eased in gently and against the right opposition.

He won't be given the chances to play through the mistakes and given the backing that DDG had when he first moved to us.

In fact I'm certain that if Jose was our manager when DDG came to us, he would have been dropped and sold within two years and we wouldn't now have arguably the world best keeper.

That's a thought to ponder on when Jose is dropping players like Rashford, Martial and Shaw for small mistakes.

John terry mafe plenty of howlers as a young player jose never sold him but you are certain he would gave sold ddg.
Perhaps Shaw knows more than you shappy and he sayid last week he was not in the right physical or mental conditiin to play and jose was right to critisise him.
Rashford made more appearances than any other player last season at 19/ 20 years of age
And martial was not dropped for silly mistakes.
You are just making stuff up shaps.
Could it be that jose knew more than you and i about shaw and he protected him last season and both coach and player are reaping the rewards so far this season because of that?
But he stuck with shaw he didn't sell him. So your certainty that he would have sold ddg comes from your own bias.
I concede he propably wouldn't have bought ddg at that age.
You could be right shappy but i think you should consider that you could be wrong too.

To the guy that stated that Watford are a potential banana skin sort your head out. Currently we are a banana skin for Watford.

Id stick with young for lb for this game.
Id have no objection if dalot played right back but i think its a game for the experienced players and on balance it might be too early for him. More likey we will see him make his debut v derby in the league cup.
