If the caretaker manager is here only until summer 2019 then for me there can only be two goals for them to achieve
1) Rebuild confidence
2) Achieve the results required to attain 4th place in the league
If those are the chief aims for a caretaker, I am not wholly convinced OGS is the best person available to achieve them, even though I think he is a great guy. he won 20% of the games at Cardiff (55.6% at Molde) . Blanc for example achieved 72.8% at PSG. hard clubs to compare but I could see Blanc handling some of the trickier characters at Old Trafford with more authority than OGS.

Its a difference between winning % at PSG and Molde/ Cardiff. PSG is by far the best team in France. Cardiff and Molde not so much.
But i'm as nervous as anyone else, but never say never.

The key words from the appointment that I’ve taken are “unite the players and the fans”. We have two men who know this club inside out in OGS and Mike Phelan.
It would be great to make top 4 do well in the champions league, and win the FA cup. The likelihood of that with any manager is slim.

The appointment is one I’m behind, because ole is a legend, he will hopefully play a brand of football in line with our traditions. But most importantly it should be a time where the fans and players unite, and we lay the foundations for the next man in charge.

What more are people expecting right now?

The difference is Ole is happy at Molde and is happy to manage our side in an interim role. Blanc would want the job full time. I think he could be a good candidate, come the summer.

What the club does off the pitch in the next 6 months is more important than what happens on it imo. Shappy that couldnbe a good shout on blanc.

For me the league title is out of reach, top 4 looks a challenge but is perhaps still possible. The CL and FA Cup are knock-out competitions and ‘you have to be in it to win it’ so to speak - for that reason alone I’m not ruling out the possibility of success on either front.
Having said that, OGS will bring some unity back and reignite the values of the club. Until the Summer, that seems like enough, one step at a time to avoid anymore mistakes.
