Where exactly are we going to see Daniel James play? LW? Gosh! We seem to be always buying someone for Left and completely ignoring our right flank. I am not against signing him but I believe it is time to address the weak areas first.

He has played LW mostly, but also RW and even up front.

He will play where he best fits in to the team.

As for not signing a RW, personally I find that most of the best wingers currently in the game tend to prefer playing on the left. I think this is a symptom of playing inverted wingers and wanting wide men to cut in and use the inside channels more in modern football. That paired with there being more right footed players it's obvious that you will end up with more right footed left wingers then you will left footed right wingers.

Seriously if you start trying to think of world class RW players you end up with a very short list, especially when you compare that to the number of LW players.

He has played on both sides for Swansea.

I assume he will start on the bench, with martial and rashford and lingard starting.

Then when they inevitably get injured or hit a bad patch of form and alexis sanchez goes back to chile and recovers from his “injuries”, he will have a chance to prove himself.

Shappy!

I remember when we bought Young, people were talking about how versatile he is and can play any position on the front three. Well! He was versatile but bang average on all position. Similarly, I don't think we should be signing players based on the versatility they can show. Daniel James can play RW but is better LW and i don't think it will change. I agree that there are less genuinely talented RWs out there but definitely our scouts could find some. Not long ago DJ was never heard of and now we cheer for him. I guess it can happen with RW as well.

Bolger, It does not matter. Having played on both sides does not mean he will excel on both sides. I would love someone who is poor at LW but class on right.

DSG, hopefully he takes his chance well. Playing him means either martial or rashford will be dropped. Frankly they are not good at RW and i can't see who our RW will be played by next season.

He has played on both wings and is right footed.

So if we need someone on the RW James will play that role. He also tracks back properly, something that Martial often lacks.

Not a polished product but a player to progress further under the right coaching and management.

Srestha, give the kid a break and have a little faith. 😊
He is a big talent with lots of potential. He’s already demonstrating what he’s capable of when given the opportunity. He comes highly recommended by one of our legendary wingers.
Don’t expect him to come in and single handedly fix all of our problems. No one player can do that.

I am not having a go at DJ Perth. I was just wondering if we are going to sign a genuine right winger. 🤔 Hopefully DJ fulfills his potential and has a beautiful career at the club.

"Right coaching and management" Not sure if we have that hoggy.

Martial will be benched unless he takes his job seriously. I see James playing on the left and greenwood on right.

u83, I think this season will be the last chance for Martial.
