After watching the England game at the women's world cup, I was pretty disappointed about var . Despite matter of fact decisions being proven to be close but correct it still appeared possible despite all evidence, to portray a sense of injustice to a ref, which influenced judgement call decisions on later var incidents .

When var is introduced to prem games I really hope we don't see players disputing things that are proven as this appeared to have some degree of benefit for judgement var calls after creating a false sense of injustice .

Yeh that was a very weird game! Getting totally bent out of shape over a clear as day VAR over turn. Then English players getting booed for getting the correct decisions, but the opposition throwing a hissy fit had somehow gained them some sympathy and then the ref thinks it might be a bit harsh on them or cause them to strop again if she awards a penalty against them or a red card.

Unfortunately there will always be a sense of injustice in sporting decisions, especially in such a tribal sport as football.

However, I don't feel that should be used as a stick to beat VAR.

Will VAR be perfect? No, of course not. Especially in its infancy while all the kinks are worked out. However, we can't allow those early blips to derail something that in the long run will be hugely beneficial to the sport.

They change the offside rule every few years as they keep coming across issues with the new way of implementing or understanding the rule. Yet no one calls for the offside rule to be scrapped. It's considered a work in progress. VAR should be afforded the same considerations.

I maybe phrased it badly var wasn't the issue it got two decisions perfectly correctly, the issue was more because two decisions had quite correctly went against a team they were still able to relay a sense of injustice to the ref which the ref seemed to take on board when making later judgement calls using var . It had a feel of because they had been quite correctly on the end of two var decisions the ref was less inclined to put them on the end of another decision despite the var evidence.
