With the Dybala deal apparently off I just hope that Woodward doesn't do a bargain deal for Bale.
Boosting shirt sales is about all it would improve.
I live in fear until the window closes.

Why do people keep suggesting that United are going to do a deal to boost shirt sales?

Because they don't understand how it works.

Shaw,

It is such a 'twitter' thing to say, some of the nonsense spouted on there comes from such an ignorant place. People saying they will boycott the club if they don't sign Fernandes, someone I imagine most people have seen play 5 times maximum is suddenly the difference between a title challenge and midtable. It is hilarious.

I do understand. Shirt sales do not benefit the club directly.
Just playing on Woodward liking a "name" a the fact that the ONLY thing signing Bale would do is (fact) increase shirt sales.
I therefore live in fear of us wasting money.

A transfer to ‘boost shirt sales’ I have heard it all.

If Bale were to come for reasonable money played only twenty odd matches but made a significantly positive impact on our season then I woukd welcome him. Not likely I know bit on his day he is still a terrific player.

In his day not a bad golfer, but then he does play more golf than football.
