A massive trip to Kazakhstan on a Thursday night, about the right game for European minnows like you lot.

All the best from European Royalty.

Even though you are pathetic when it comes to trolling, you are right. This is why teams in the Europa League will never win the Premier League and something needs to be done about the travel, scheduling and number of fixtures. It's better to not be in the competition at all if you have aspirations of winning the league or even challenge for top 4.

Why are you here?

But while you are.

How many premier league titles have you won.

Absolute rubbish there's no reason why you can't win the Europa League and come in the top 4. Chelsea have just done exactly that. Total cop out for me that is.

Damon how is it a cop out? 3 of the 4 teams in the top 4 were not in the EL.
Clearly it isn't impossible, but you can forget any chance of winning the league if you're expected to play in Kazakhstan on a Thursday night then return in time to win a game on a Sunday afternoon.
Point being, the Europa League format is flawed and has a negative impact on domestic competition.

I'm not sure Mort, but they have a good national anthem.

PMSL like we were contenders for winning the premier league even without any form of European football. We’re light years from that level 😂.

Of course Scooby, the logic applies to any PL team imo, including City.

He doesn't comment about Liverpool, must be a secret United fan in disguise. Leave him be.

I’m sorry Wazza, but I can’t follow your logic here. The reason that three of the top four didn’t play in the Europa League is because they were busy playing in the Champions League. It has nothing to do with which European competition a team plays in and everything to do with how good they are. After all, we played in the Champions league last year and still failed to make top four. When we fail to do so again this year it will be because we weren’t good enough domestically. Blaming the Europa league really is a cop out.

Europa League does take a toll with the matches scheduled on Thursday, especially for teams with a smaller squad. It allows for less preparation and less rest before the PL matches.

Certainly not impossible to do well domestically and in Europa both, but you have to rotate well. The teams in your group really aren't good, so group stage should be comfortable to rotate and keep the main guys fresh for PL action on the weekends.

Redseven I think you need to read it again because you have missed the point.

I don’t think so. You seem to be suggesting that playing in the Europa league makes it difficult for a team to finish in the top four. I’m suggesting that playing in the Europa League is a sign that a team isn’t good enough to finish in the top four.
