Mandzukic wouldn't have been a bad back up at all. Not too long ago, we made similar arrangements with Larson and to an extent Owen. Zlatan was not a back up but is an example of what a fit and experienced striker can n bring.

At the time I suggested that Mandzukic would be a good short term option. It sadly got pooh-poohed. Never ignore a pooh-pooh. Morale totally destroyed. by pooh-pooh.
