Tris, the last paragraph you say he suffers from lack of the early ball from wide. Would you agree in the thought that he lacks crosses entirely in that Madrid team? Or even any major team he might have signed for? I think we see less and less reliance on crossing from the forwards, I think he’d very much benefit himself at say Liverpool. Again forwards not there to cross but very adapt and if not the best in fullbacks able to cross.

That said, on a tangent here, could you imagine TAA attacking play with AWB defensive play? Wow.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, he made a major mistake in my opinion joining Madrid. He is a poacher without any real service, but he would have that problem at a lot of clubs.

If you got that combination, you would have the perfect modern full-back.}

Tris, Jovic had a great season at Frankfurt scoring almost every other game, before moving to Madrid.

I agree he needs the pass played early, he certainly isn't the kind of striker to stand up a defender and beat them. However, many top sides currently don't play the early ball, they wait until they have more options too concerned with giving the ball away. Or so it seems anyway. Which top clubs do you think Jovic would be a good fit at?

Shappy, I honestly think he'd be a pretty good fit at Chelsea. His hold up play isn't bad, but as you guys have said he thrives on getting service in the box.
Under Lampard we tend to cross a lot, and especially with Ziyech next season we'll have some excellent crossers (James, Ziyech, Callum) . We've also been pretty direct in our attacking play, for better or worse. So while not ideal for Chelsea I think he'd fit pretty well.

I agree that he made the wrong choice in choosing Madrid. Though probably hard to blame him as everyone appears to want to join either Madrid or Barcelona.

Jackson, there are a few places I think he could do well, but there are few places where I think he would excel.

Liverpool have two excellent crossers of the ball in TAA and Robertson, but I'm not sure Jovic has the all round game to replace Firmino.

Chelsea certainly move the ball to the forwards much quicker under Lampard, but again I'm not sure Jovic has the all round game at a high enough standard for a top side.

Ideally I think Jovic needs to play in a strike duo rather than as a single centre forward. He doesn't quite have the pace for team that like to counter, while he also doesn't have the high quality pressing/ hold up game you need in possession football.

Maybe the best place for him could be Atletico Madrid where he could play with Joao Felix as a strike duo.

Well he certainly looked excellent next to Haller. But there he didn't need to be the link up guy, Haller did that. So I'd be curious to see how he would fare with a different type of strike partner (e. g. Felix) . Got a feeling he wouldn't do as well as next to a target man like Haller or Giroud for example.

Maybe under Control he'd do well. Conte teams cross a lot as well because of the wingbacks, and at Inter he's used a striker duo mostly.

{Ed001's Note - that would certainly help him a lot. He needs the early crosses and service like an old fashioned striker.}
