Who thinks the season is going a head?
Vote is this Wed?

To me they should play out the FA cup and UEFA cups behind close doors as mini tournaments.

EPL should let those with a game in hand play behind close doors and use those standings for European football.

No relegations promote the top 2 of each league and 4 go down next year.

Seems the lowest risk way to get the season finished.

But surely above it is up to the players?

I think the season goes ahead. Spain have already announced that la liga is able to start in June, don't see why the UK won't follow suit.

I don't really get your logic of playing the games in hand and fa cup games, what if they go relatively smoothly?, won't the league look foolish in not playing the remaining 9 weeks and cancelling the season?

Forget all football. Prepare for the new season instead.

There are so many things i miss more than football.
Im very relaxed about it. It will start when its safe to do so. Mid to End of June looks likely with a September start for next season.
If that's pushed out so be it. I don't see the epl not trying to restart when Spain and Italy have been able to.

Would there be any sense in using this as a way to alter the next season calendar so it falls in line with the 2022 world Cup? At some point the major European leagues will have to align their fixtures to allow for a winter World Cup so why not do it starting with the 20/ 21 season.

I can see the season restarting and then being cancelled after a week or two once rates soar.

I think it will go ahead, but given that Ed002 has said players will be asked to sign risk waivers, we could see a number of high profile players refuse. Especially as more players get infected. Don’t think they’ll get to finish it, and it will end up looking silly by the end of June.

I am almost certain that the season will restart.
the teams need it for closure and the fans need it -particularly the scousers who will really moan if they do not get that title.

Let them moan.

I would imagine it will, we are seeing many other leagues start around Europe. The question of whether they should is still a valid one I feel though.

The reality is that even if one person is hospitalised let alone the worst case scenario because football is being played then it will prove it as being a mistake.

Certain things that can be considered far more "essential" than football aren't able to open yet, peoples lives and their livelihoods are being affected by this. Yet Football marches on.

Judging by scenes over the last few days, people have judged themselves that the lockdown is over. Add to that football returning then we could see even more 'mass gatherings'. The general public appears to think the virus is over, I fear that our current actions will determine not if the virus remains but only if it gets worse.

All leagues and cups will restart with intention of concluding them all by 31Aug. Then new season across Europe starts on 01Oct. Too much money at stake for it not too though it won’t be ‘crowd’ football for 12 months minimum. Which puts season tickets in a bit of a pickle. Even at United I think match day activities generate 20% of our turnover and TV companies won’t be rushing to pay even more inflated prices for a product that for the forseeable future can only be seen on TV.
