Now I've been a defender of Jose to date, and have heard all the "it takes time to rebuild etc" arguments.

However, at what point do we expect Jose to improve our squad and its players (many of which he bought), not just buy new players and why do we still look like a team that has barely played and trained together? Do we actually do any offensive drills and training - if anyone is in the know would be great to have some insight!

Doubt is creeping in and genuinely not sure if we are making any progress here.

If fit enough, we need to turn Fergie loose in the dressing room with a few hairdryers.

Seriously what is going on in this club. I don't recall Mourinho's team being so sluggish.
Mourinho's Chelsea, Inter and Real were also absolute dominant. Yes! they rarely played amazing football but were rarely lethargic. This team looks like they are bunch of strangers who are playing the game for the first time. No intensity at all. I just wanted to punch myself over and over again this game.

At least 6 possibly 7 of that 11 who started today should be ashamed of themselves.
Knock mourinho all you want, knock his style of football all you want.
Those players do not care, they do not give 1 sh1t about the fans who pay their wages.
The team is missing a Roy Keane figure, an on field general who will drive some of these pre-madonnas on.
With the vile amounts of money these guys get paid every week I do not know how they sleep at night.

Mourinho may not be the manager for this club, but I actually feel sorry for him, what an absolute bunch of losers.
I am disgusted. Pogba and young should stick to practicing dele ali's celebration as they clearly do not spend enough time practicing how to play football.

Simply put, we have no leaders on the pitch. Name me one?

Teams gone by we have had Ferdinand, Neville, Vidic, Scholes, Giggs, Rooney to name but a few. Currently we have a bunch of pre Madonna's who care more about stupid celebrations, haircuts and instagram. You never, ever saw this happen a few years ago. Maybe it's a sign of the times, maybe it's a sign Mourinho has had his day.

For me though, Mourinho can't be blamed for all of this. The board didn't invest, the scouts picked many of these names who aren't delivering and the players have no backbone.

Young is still a square peg in a round hall, Bailly is ok alongside a more vocal partner, Lindelof looks overwhelmed and Shaw remains useless. Fred needs time, Andreas is ok but Pogba is a liability. Yes he scores a few good goals and makes a few good passes but he couldn't lace the boots of the greats gone by. Mata is an old lady in a younger mans body, Martial is going to turn out a wasted talent and Lukaku still can't trap a ball.

Feels like we are Arsenal. Personally think we need to start from scratch with a DoF, progressive coach and buy some experienced leaders.

I couldn't see a league winning team before the season and today's result only strengthens that belief. The press report Woodward went into the dressing room alone after the game. Add this to reports that someone in authority decided we had a good enough team and didn't need to buy the players the manager asked for, or didn't agree with them, without a Director of Football who could that have been?

It appears someone decided to hold back on spending and it looks like it is because they don't want Mourinho any more or think he will leave. It wouldn't surprise me now if the owners have been enticed by the name of Zidane or even Wenger (who knows how to run a club on a low budget) and think it will solve everything.

I may be wrong but if the signs are still poor from last season then it feels like something is about to change.

We can single out players all we like but the blame for today's loss lies solely at the door of our manager.

Every game our plan is to absorb pressure and hit teams on the break. There is no Plan B apart from hoof it long when our manager decides to go for a 5-1-4 formation. We have no fluidity in our play when teams sit back, it's as if our manager doesn't want us to play on the front foot, oh wait.

At 0-0 we had our bright moments of play, we looked settled, not great but not bad either. Then following a series of errors from nearly half of our team Brighton take the lead and our game plan is useless, the players look lost, as if they've never practiced anything else, oh wait.

No team in the world executes the type of football our manager is looking for at a top level apart from Atletico. A club who have the perfect personnel for it, we don't, but our manager can't do anything else but what he's always done.

I'd be fine with absorb and counter away from home if it was when we were ahead after already playing front foot, positive football to take the lead.

Club needs to get their heads out of the sand and get rid of our manager. Things are going to get a lot worse before they get any better.

As you all know, I’m not a Jose fan but get a grip people. It’s early, players are still not sharp and we’ve played 2 games. Some of the reaction on here to a defeat is unbelievable.

I came home on Friday and my dinner wasn’t ready so I’m filled for divorce. That’s what it feels like on here. People were calling Bailly one of the best defenders in the league, not so sure now are we?

One game does not define a season, we lost to Brighton last year, we also came from 2 down to beat City and beat every team in the division last year. We may finish 2nd, we may finish 6th, but 2 games in is not a good indicator.

{Ed025's Note - at last a bit of perspective..well said AJH..

To the manager and the players, you need to hang your head in shame. Fans have travelled 12 hours to watch this utter dross, they need an apology from every single one of these overpaid persons.
