Rojo is official! €9 million, only seem him at the World Cup but for €9 mil could be a great buy.
Welcome and hopefully more to come!

-LA-

{Ed004's Note - And Nani on loan}

1.) Where did 9m come from, I read 10 now, 5 in December then another 5 in July, €20m

2.) 19 Aug 2014 19:20:25
It was not 9 Million. They were stating that 9 Million was going to be invested into their Futsol Facilities.

3.) It isn't €9M, it's €20M. The press release from Sporting states that €9M from the transfer will be spent on improving their stadium. It's a down payment of €10M with two separate €5M instalments. Plus Nani for the season.

4.) Jst €9m are we paying nani's full wages

{Ed002's Note - Koke will not be moving to MUFC.}

In the last 9 months;
Manchester United: Mata, Di Maria, Falcao
Liverpool: Lallana, Markovic, Balloteli
United with no champions leauge signed 3 of the best players in their positions in the world. The biggest club in the planet!

-LA-

1.) It's also worth noting that three players deemed surplus to requirements have gone/will go to Champions League clubs (Kagz, Welbs and Chico).

2.) 01 Sep 2014 18:49:27
It's worth noting they are among the under performers who contributed to us not getting CL

3.) Utd Road - That's exactly my point. Players who are not good enough for us are for teams like Real Madrid, Dortmund and Arsenal. We're finally aiming at the best players rather than settling for second best.

With Shaw, Herrera & Rojo, that's 3 of our weak links filled. Add a CM and winger and this could be one of our best windows in a long time, wether we will sign two more players is another matter, the eds say it'll take 3 windows to rebuild the squad to where the club want it. Di Maria and Vidal would be the dream.

-LA-

1.) Vidal & Di Maria would be a great window LA mate.

2.) As frustrating as it has been, it could end well. If you said to me would you be happy with Shaw, Rojo, Herrera and maybe Di Maria and Vidal I'd of bitten your hand off.

3.) We haven't signed a world class player. And without that world class signing it's an average window at best. We may have bought cover for our problem areas but without pace and penetration we will struggle against most sides. Di Maria or similar is absolutely vital!

Thankyou Nani for your 7 years service to the club. I can't see him returning now, I'll always remember that one season he had a few years ago. No matter how inconsistent he was he always seemed to give it his all, hasn't complained the last 2-3 years when he wasn't picked regularly. He did play 228 times for us so I thought it was worth mentioning him.

-LA-

1.) Not into abusing player's but nani's decision making is the worst I've ever seen , he has taken someone else's spot in the squad for far too long and I am delighted to finally get rid

2.) I won't stoop to slagging 1 of ours off but 1 of the issues with Nani is that he regularly appeared to not be giving his all.

3.) Nani has given us some incredible moments, hitting some screamers, finishing some beautiful passing moves, taunting Arsenal with that seal dribble, and getting sent off harshly v Real Madrid. Shame there was all those other moments when we were screaming at him to pass the ball. Time for him to go, but all the best, Nani.

4.) Nani, Anderson & cleverly have all had more then enough time and chances to prove they deserve a place in our squad and none of them have done time for them all to go

Just seen a stat that Marcos Rojo clocked up a speed of approximately 19mph at the World Cup, second highest to Arjern Robben, imagine having one of the fastest players in the world at CB!

I don't know if anyone can confirm it, but are we really paying Nani's full wages whilst him being at sporting for a season?! I can't see any logic in it, unless sporting demanded it then it makes no sense, it's not like he's a 19/20 year old who will improve over there, bizarre.

-LA-

1.) I was thinking exactly the same, but then I considered if we do SELL next summer what would be better for his potential value at that time. a season getting paid and sitting on the bench for us or a season getting paid by us and hop.efully having a fantastic season for sporting. short term loss for long term gain. that can be the only logic if true.

2.) It looks as though Sporting have accepted a lower transfer fee as a result of them getting Nani.

3.) If he has a good season out there he will be easier to sell

4.) Not exactly the actions of a club with no limit on the budget!

Mertins wouldn't be a bad swap, very unlikely but would be a good bit of business, wouldn't cost us anything and would sort out our wide problems and add some pace up front.

Both would be fantastic. If we're reportedly willing to spend £20m of blind I'd much rather cough up another £4m and get Carvalho, use him instead of the 3rd CB.

I see where Helmut is coming from, if we were to sign a big name defender it was likey they would take the 5 shirt as that is usually a CB's number, but then it could still happen.
