Very true that every player has his sell by date. Experienced managers will see them every day in training and can spot the start of the downward spiral. In the earlier years of Fergie one of the most important rules was when you win don't be happy with your lot go out and improve. Try to buy something even better that what you already have. For some reason we stopped doing this. Every year we go the same old story of " I am happy with the squad and there is no value in the transfer market." Then what happens, all the other teams who were not happy with their squads go out and buy to improve and eventually they catch up. It's like F1. Just because you Win the constructors title you have to improve the car or you will be caught up and eventually passed. This is what has happened to us. Standing still is going backwards.

I think it was clear in Fergie's last few years that he was thinking of how to get the best out of what he knew would be his final squad, he injected some promising youth and then left the platform for a new manager to come in and rebuild as we are seeing now.

Great to see Giggs and the boys in the dugout yesterday. Loved the atmosphere. Good win and hopefully heading in the right direction. Mata pure class. Rooney more goals. Kagawa wonderful vision and also got stuck in. Vidic what a real man at the back. What a shame he is leaving. DDG clearly going to be one of Europe best. Welbeck stop the flicks or I will hunt you down and give you a real flick. Cleverly no matter who is in charge he is still crap.

This may be me getting old, (no comment required) but just had a look at the pictures on the tv website of the guys attending the memorial to the Munich disaster. Very nice and respectful of Nani to turn up complete with headphones around his neck. Whether you are entering the last couple of months as a Manchester United player or not, a little thought would be appreciated.

Old timers rant over.

1.) Your enjoyed because he took his headphones off at the site? Good one

One thing is for certain.
If that performance was from Chelsea everyone would be saying "what a tactical genius Mourinho is, look at the way his team nullified the opposition" So give credit where it's due. We'll done Moyes.

1.) Offcourse they would. Remember the farmer/cow story fergie used to talk about:) many here fit the profile. I mean the the cow and not the farmer LOL :)

2.) Great result, lucky not to ave Toni sent off but we are due some in champs league, 24% possession is poor at home, a bit like watching Everton. What does Fellaini bring to a game

3.) Bad dust problems in London at the moment.
Must be the time of year for cleaning the Arsenal trophy cabinet again!

4.) I actually thought Fellaini had his best game for us. Worked hard and quite effective. Our limited game plan clearly suited him, it would be nice to see him looking for a few goals though.
A committed performance from our boys but next week will be more difficult and in truth we need a more clinical cutting edge than was displayed last night. Welbeck works really hard, has great pace but he's not a natural striker.

5.) Moyes should be given great credit for what we did last night.

6.) Fellaini was awful he looked completely out of place for me I have to be honest.

No way he should be playing CM - Shocking

7.) Yep Fellaini was awful. Some of the European papers apparently didn't even give him a score he was that bad. Like I said before if he looks bad on telly you should watch him at the game he is worse.

8.) Ok guys, you are right. I've watched the recording again and Fellaini was poor. For a big guy he wins very little in the air. I suppose I was looking for something to indicate that £27m had been well spent. I wonder what his value would be now!

9.) Not knocking moyes tactics at all and I was very happ with the result, but he was always going to get it right against munich. Moyes is used to setting his teams up as an underdog, although its the first time this season its worked.

Flying over our own ground, with childish and embarrassing signs. What have we become. No matter what you think of our manager he is still our manager. A Manchester United manager who deserves respect. Decades of success under a manager, who I remember receiving the same treatment. Then came the trophies and all of a sudden the abuse stopped. Then one bad season under a new manager and out they come from the woodwork again. This just goes to show what spoiled brats many of our so called supporters have become. Shame on us.

1.) In the last month my opinion on united supporters changed as a direct result of the class, a lot of you have shown. Flying a banner saying moyes out is shameful, and a disgrace to a club with a proud history. Those who support this banner need to grow a pair and show some class, like the true supporters have shown in this difficult period for the club

{Ed004's Note - For once I agree with tel. Although I think Moyes was the wrong choice no man deserves this}

2.) What is quite sad abut all of this is the fact that this is a reaction to the city game. The same team that has beaten us the last 3 times at OT.

By any measure this city team is an improved side and playing better that the team from last year and highly motivated, so I don't understand all the fury and noise and proved the gap in class watching their players and ours.

I know it is hard to swallow and accept but it is what it is.

Every club has persons as supporters and I am sure the group who has organised this publicity stunt are a minority.

Who cares how much players cost. If you want world class players you have to pay for them. For too long now UTD have been accused of penny pinching and as soon as they just pay the money a club wants for one of their players we also get complaints. What would you rather happen to the money. share it between the Glazer family. If team A want £50m for a player, the player is happy to join us and we want that player then pay the money.
