Hi Guys

There are quite a lot of reports doing the rounds at the moment saying we are in advanced talks for Renato Sanches. Is this just rubbish talk or is there any substance to it.

Bazza The Red 2

O JOGO are saying €30M +€10M in bonuses, reading twitter and there are a few saying-wait for it. A club source has told them the deal is done, so that's a news paper and twitter, most likely ballhawks.

Hi Guys

Nani to have medical with Fenerbache on sunday

Bazza The Red 2

1.) 02 Jul 2015 23:17:18
3.5 million is all we are getting for a player of his unpredictable quality!!! Terrible business

2.) 02 Jul 2015 23:43:29
Agreed! How we aren't getting double figures for him, or at least very close to, is shocking! He was the best player in Portugal last year by all accounts and on his day he's a Worldie. I know he's very hit and miss (more often than not) but after a great season elsewhere I'd have actually liked him to have had pre season with the team. Unless we have an incoming player(s) of better quality.

3.) 03 Jul 2015 08:07:23
We have to offset his wages, that's either lower the asking price or pay the difference between what they are paying him and what we were paying for the time that was left on his contract which i 5hink eas 3yrs,Its looks like they took a lower asking price to me.

4.) 03 Jul 2015 10:58:52
Getting Nani off the wage bill, which was exacerbated by Moyes incredulous giving him a new deal, is great business at any price. Frankly I'm surprised anyone is dumb enough to pay more than his air fare.

5.) 03 Jul 2015 11:39:32
We're not getting double figures for 2 reasons.

1. The length of his contract
2. He has been pants for several years.

6.) 03 Jul 2015 13:00:19
If pants is the best player in a league campaign then OK fair enough. Granted it's a weaker league but he still did it in the Champions League games for them too. Less pressure, playing every week, being the main man, I don't know the reasons, but he was doing something right over there. £3.5m is well below what Nani should be going for. £7.5+ sounds more what we should be getting.

7.) 03 Jul 2015 22:51:44
Pepsy

Who should we have sold Nani to and how much should we have got for him? Please let everyone know how Woodie could have done better.

Hi Guys

At long last according to some reports we are showing an interest in Lucianno Vietto.I really rate the lad.

Bazza The Red 2

1.) 05 Jun 2015 20:15:03
Totally agree! The lads young and pure class! Let's hope he gets a word from some of are other Argentines that MUFC is the place for him!

10 May 2015 20:24:06
Hi Guys

Can any of the Eds tell me if Lucianno Vietto is moving on in the summer and if so are we in for him.

Thanks in advance

Bazza The Red 2

{Ed004's Note - There's a good chance he will move but very unlikely to be going to Manutd}

Hi Guys

I'm not sure how reliable this is but I've just read reports from Holland saying that we have agreed a price for Depay and Phillip Cocu has told his players that Depay is coming to us.
As I say not sure how reliable this is I just thought I would pass it on.

The ever reliable Manchester Evening News are also reporting it.

Wait and see I guess.

2.) 07 May 2015 11:50:17
Sky and BBC have it now, looks good. I am a big fan of getting transfers completed quickly.

Hi Guys

I'm going to Old Trafford for the Leicester game and I was really excited to be going for the first match of the new season. That was until I watched last nights match. Now I know it was only a friendly and it wasn't the first team but it was the style of football they were asked to play. It didn't seem any different to the turgid style we have had to sit through over the last few season's.
I find myself really hoping that things improve with the addition of our missing World cup stars but I'm not that enthusiastic. I want to be excited by this team and maybe a couple of star signings may ignite that excitement.

That said I will be Old Trafford on the 10th of August cheering the boys on in the hope that the real Manchester United turn up.

Hi Guys

So we've got Fellaini for another 2 years with an option of a third. Personally I'm not a fan of his and in my opinion he is very one dimensional. My only hope is that we sell him and get a transfer fee for him but I think I'm clutching at straws.

Bazza The Red 2

1.) 29 Jun 2018 15:39:50
Strange decision for me, but not surprising given everything I would do the club seem to do the opposite. He has contributed at times, but this is not the message the club should be sending.

I understand why some people see the positives as the 'X factor' he can bring in certain situations, but i'd prefer alternative routes and too much is made of that X factor! We all know that when he plays he brings very little to the table unless we play direct. Yes he is committed, but so what, 99% of players for Utd would be committed if they believed they were punching above their weight being at a club like ours.

He actually doesn't win a lot in the air as CB's are similar size or have a better leap, not much actually comes from his aerial threat for us. He is a liability giving away possession, he slows the game down when in midfield, playing the obvious pass and often failing with that. he is very slow and often resorts to hacking down an opponent when they get the better of him, which is too often - he needs a smaller pitch to be effective. Then aerially it's a toss of a coin whether they opposition pick up a freekick or not.

I don't dislike Fellaini, but he is not good enough to be in a Man Utd squad there are literally a hundred midfielders I'd rather have taking up a position in the team. He may nick a goal now and again, but at what overall cost?

2.) 29 Jun 2018 15:54:59
There’s always the risk of a massive asteroid might hit the earth, and if lands in Manchester we’ll be glad that Fellaini is here to chest it down safely.

3.) 29 Jun 2018 19:41:59
I have nothing against Fellaini, he seems a nice bloke and apparently he is a popular character in the dressing room, but when we bought him my mind went back in time to when Liverpool signed David Speedie. I’m not comparing the 2 players, just the message it sent out. Fellaini is not, and never will be a United player, he was a last minute desperation signing. For me it’s a bit like the Arnautovic rumours: if true then we continue to fall.

Having said that he keeps getting picked. Moyes signed him, LVG played him, and Jose wants to keep him, so hey what do I know? Even if I know nothing, I know he is not a United player.

4.) 29 Jun 2018 20:30:12
Moyes signed him, got sacked. LvG played him got sacked.

5.) 29 Jun 2018 21:34:46
Jesus wept, reading this baloney. one player who is actually quite good!

Squad player who will play his share but mainly be a plan b.

6.) 29 Jun 2018 21:40:48
Good posts ajh and beast.
Agree with all of that ajh. The manager his his reasons i just don't agree with them.

7.) 29 Jun 2018 23:15:06
Moyes, LVG and Jose all play him. Martinez plays him for Belgium. but what do they know.

8.) 29 Jun 2018 23:46:40
Agreed Beast and Tony. I have never liked him or his way of playing.

9.) 30 Jun 2018 10:08:35
Eric - I know they know how to take a quality squad and make it look bang average.

24 May 2018 21:51:45
Hi Guys

Just to guage your opinions. Who would you prefer out of Fred and Savic. I've not seen either at great length so I can't really say although my gut feeling says savic.

Bazza The Red 2

1.) 25 May 2018 11:25:19
Savic for me. But I think we need both because if one of our midfield gets injured we are relying on Herrera and mctominay. City have gundogan to come in as replacement and they are also looking to add Jorginho as well. That is some great strength in depth. I would like to see matic get rested more next year and rotated with Herrera to make sure he remains fresh. I’m glad to see we are adding to the midfield but will reserve judgement to when I see us play because it depends how Jose sets us up.

2.) 25 May 2018 11:55:06
we need at least 2 or even 3 centre mids

we have pogba matic herrera and mctom.

fellini off, carrick retired.

we lack any depth.

to win titles and cup competitions you need a big squad. its also good for competition to keep everyone on there toes.

3.) 25 May 2018 12:00:02
It looks like Fred is on the cards .
Do people think if Jose can't get fellaini to sign he is going to go out and pay a 100 mil on savic to replace him .

4.) 25 May 2018 12:27:46
signing fred would not be enough in the centre.

even if the wig signs a new contract we need another center mid.

5.) 25 May 2018 12:56:12
Jose played 4231 for about 70% of games last sèason .
He tends to stick with players so I expect matic to play most games again as well as pogba.
So not really that many places up for grab.

6.) 25 May 2018 16:15:49
I think we should sign both then we have a choice from six decent and different midfielders. Perhaps Then Matic might get a rest because Jose will have alternatives he can trust.

21 Dec 2017 11:02:06
Good morning guys

I am of the same opinion as a lot of people on here that Bristol City were the better team last night and deserved to win. I also believe that Jose should have been more generous in defeat. More worrying for me is that our performance last night indicated to me that quite a few of our squad are just not good enough and I think that some players are heading for the exit. The players I am thinking of and I know not everyone will agree are, Matteo Darmian, he has not progressed at all and looks decent at best. Mikhi is next I was really pleased when he signed but for some reason he has gone into his shell. Daley Blind is versatile but that's it. As much as it disappoints me to say I also think Zlatan's time might be up. He has done superbly to come back from his injury but it looks like it has taken a lot out of him.
I think last night proved what a lot of us have been thinking for quite some time that we are a long way off where we need to be. I really hope things change really quickly but I can't see that happening soon. Why would world class players want to come to us when there are better options. Still upwards and onwards and I will still be cheering the boys on on Saturday hoping the real United turn up.
Anyway rant over and Merry Christmas to all of you and in particular all the Ed's that do such a good job on here.

It's always hard not to over react after a shock defeat but I just think we got caught a bit cold last night.

They wanted it more and put their hearts and souls into the game.

We were sloppy in possession, edgy at the back and lacked a bit of quality in the final third.

This enabled them to get a real foot hold in the game, they got the first goal which gave them confidence and something to hang onto, it kept the crowd engaged and it just turned into a bit of a fight which we didn't really have the appetite for. They contested every ball and fought for their lives, we couldn't quite shake them off or quieten the crowd and paid the price for some sloppy finishing.

Moving forward I'm still slightly concerned that we don't have a settled CB pairing, we still need a LB, whilst Rashford and Martial have undoubtedly improved they both still blow hot and cold, we don't have a consistent or reliable No 10 or right sided forward and we probably need cover in midfield as we don't look the same team without Pogba.

Still a lot of work to do but 2nd in the league and a decent Champions League draw to look forward to (we've not been able to say that for a good few years) and ultimately that's where we want to be. Maybe January might bring us something to look forward to as well.

2.) 21 Dec 2017 12:45:18
I said on live chat that some didn’t look fully committed so I agree with what Jose said.

I don’t make excuses for them but I wonder if the transport problem they had caused some of them to lose focus. For those that don’t know they flew down in a privately chartered flight but couldn’t land at Bristol due to Fog. They diverted to Cardiff. Not a reason but hardly ideal preparation.

3.) 21 Dec 2017 14:07:59
Bristol airport is notorious for fog coming in off the Severn. Before it was an international airport it was an airfield used by the RAF to train pilots to take off and land in foggy conditions. It should have never been made into a commercial airport, especially when there was a better option at Filton. Every single week dozens of flights are diverted to Cardiff.

Personally I think it was poor preparation from our management staff, flying down and back for a evening game there was always a strong chance that fog could cause a diversion. It's also a good hour or more to travel back to Bristol from Cardiff via road.

4.) 21 Dec 2017 15:31:33
They are paid a lot of money to do a job and get results. What Jose says in the media and what he says to the squad are probably 2 different things.

5.) 21 Dec 2017 16:57:52
I read an article recently from the old Real Madrid president, where he said one of the reasons he didn't like José was his constant blaming of everyone and everything for a bad result. He stated that RM were a big club and as such shouldn't have to resort to blaming refs, pitches, fog etc.

Red Man, I constantly see you on here and the live chat, blaming the refs for our own poor performances, and I mentioned once before that it made us sound like a small club, or Liverpool.

But this fog one is a new one. Kudos to the José spin doctors on here for their work on this one.

6.) 21 Dec 2017 18:00:45
“You constantly see me on here and the live chat, blaming the refs for our own poor performance”

May I suggest specsavers, did you copy and paste that from somewhere?

If I see a ref giving poor decisions then I will say it and there were some poor decisions last night that didn’t impact the result but when did I last blame the ref for “our own poor performance”?

I think it was poor planning to fly and I felt some players were not putting 100% in. Landing at the wrong airport is hardly ideal preparation but that doesn’t fit the anti Jose bandwagon does it?

7.) 21 Dec 2017 22:53:30
'Anti-José bandwagon' :) Beast and Jaime? Some bandwagon. I can hear the rumble from over here across the water, alright.

ps. No offence, Beast and Jaime.

Good afternoon Guys

I've just read that Sadio Mane is out for a possible 6 weeks with injury so is out for Saturday. In my opinion this will blunt their attacking strength somewhat as I think he is one of their better players.
I hope we go there with a positive outlook and look to win 3 points rather than just defend for a point. I can't wait for Saturday.

Bazza The Red 2

KNowing our luck, oxIaide chambermaid will have. A stormer o of game.

2.) 10 Oct 2017 17:39:49
I would expect Jose's primary goal will be not to lose, and will set up accordingly. Liverpool will attack us - it's in their DNA- so there will be opportunities to hit them on the counter attack.

3.) 10 Oct 2017 17:59:51
Very good news for us, Mane is their best player IMO.

4.) 10 Oct 2017 18:56:02
Lukkaku on the bench for Belgium.
I hope he stays there for the rest of the night.

5.) 10 Oct 2017 19:07:58
Mane is an absolute huge loss for them I know most will say Phil couts is their best player I however disagree .
No mane no party for the Scousers.

6.) 10 Oct 2017 19:14:37
I don't know Deano, at this moment in time Mane is looking tired and Coutinho is looking sharp. I think Coutinho given his free-kick expertise and long shooting ability is a bigger threat to our parked bus.

{Ed002's Note - Mane won't be playing at the weekend. It is unclear if Coutinho will play tomorrow but if he does they will need to check how he is before the weekend.}

7.) 10 Oct 2017 19:44:51
Ed002, are you saying Coutinho is possibly injured for the game tomorrow?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

8.) 10 Oct 2017 21:23:47
If he's playing for brazil an got to fly back that'll take it out of him.

9.) 10 Oct 2017 23:01:57
I'm 52 and when I get off a plane in Vegas having flown economy I don't feel tired, so I never get this tired after flying 1st class bit.

{Ed007's Note - Well they do say the older you get the less sleep you need.

via GIPHY

10.) 11 Oct 2017 10:07:22
You‘re probably pumped to be in Vegas and can’t wait to gamble.
Coutinho arrives in Liverpool and has to play for Liverpool.
Why would he be pumped ;-)

11.) 11 Oct 2017 13:56:59
Dunno Syd I reckon Herrera can do a good job on couts and I'm just not as impressed with him as everyone else it would seem .

Hi Guys

I can't believe some are remotely defending Di Maria. Not about the money, poorly managed complete tosh. The man is being paid a kings ransom to play football, nothing dangerous and nothing life threatening. If I was being paid his wages and my manager said jump I would say how high.I agree with GDS and I can't believe that his and my views are not supported whole heartedly by the very fans Di Maria has insulted and taken the P**s out of for 1 season. There are players out there with far less talent than Di Maria but a lot more desire and dedication. One of those is Pedro. When Di Maria feels fit enough to take his medical I hope the first thing we do is get Pedro in.
