Ramos Update: Man Utd bid 32m pounds yesterday. And they are willing to go till 40m. Madrid looking at 46. Ed, can you confirm? Does it look possible? I feel Utd might meet Madrid half way.

Sergio Ramos has been a world class player for longer than De Gea, and outfield players are more expensive than goalkeepers.

Liverpool have a 12.5m pound bid for Clyne accepted by Southampton. He will sign a 5 year contract and have a medical next week.
I thought United wanted him. 12.5m is a joke!

I am fairly sure we dropped our interest in Clyne. Liverpool had a free ride, and they just had to cough up enough money to satiate Southampton's desires.

Last seasons stats comparing Valencia to Clyne are Valencia coming out on top, i think van gaal rates Valencia and won't panic to buy a RB when CB and CM needs looking at first.

Eds, what's the latest on any players leaving? I believe Anderson will have a medical at Fiorentina today. What about Nani and Buttner? Or any others who might leave in January? Also, would appreciate an update on Lingard, I believe his contract expires this summer? Extension?

The reliable @diegotorresro says Sergio Ramos wants to leave Real Madrid and money is not his priority.
He may leave after all and a deal for Ramos would most likely not include De Gea.

Hi Eds. I was just wondering if you know any players who are on their way out? If new players have to come in, certainly some have to leave. Current performances are not helping players either. Media rumours aside, how many players do you see leaving this summer? Also, anyone in particular, who is set to leave, aside from Vidic? Thanks

Ed, what's the situation with Utd players leaving? Anything on future of players like, Nani, Anderson, Young etc? Also, considering player like Fabio, Henriquez and Macheda will be returning from loan, any chance any of them or someone else will be loaned out next season? Cheers.

Obviously if Utd don't qualify for Champions League and worse Europa, players will want to leave. de Gea has been good, but I can't see him staying if Utd are not in Europe. Cheers.
Caulker would be a good option. Easy to get also, English.
I am surprised people talking like Delph is useless. He has been extremely good this season and is a good talent. He is certainly better than the midfielders Utd have. Or is everyone watching Utd in a parallel universe?
Delph would be a good buy, along with the likes of Benteke, Weiman, Bacuna. Villa have some good players. And none of them have egos like the current Utd crop do! Cheap, EPL experienced and young is what United need now. You can't tempt the big players without being in Europe.
No problem getting these players to come!
Agree with redseven. There are many good young defenders but almost everyone already plays for a big club. No better defender right now at a small club than Zouma.
