It's crazy how I'm now looking forward to this game tomorrow. 8 weeks ago I would of been dreading the game, not now.
Ole has us playing quick attacking football and although it's early days the sign are positive. The big positive in particular is the beating of the 'lesser' teams. Under Jose these could quickly turn into a long slog and at best with inconsistent results. Under Ole this has changed. We can beat them a number of ways and often do. It's consistency in these sort of games that have u challenging for titles over a season because games against top 6 rivals are always 50/ 50 in terms of outcomes.

There are murmurs from a few around the club that Ole has the job already but I hope for now that is really all it is, murmurs. We have time, use it to its maximum and make the right decision. If its Ole great, if not we go a different direction.

Enjoy the ride for now. We bloody deserve it after the last 5 years.

1.) 11 Feb 2019 21:36:26
Cracking post chris, enjoy the ride😜.

2.) 12 Feb 2019 01:30:24
Good post that Chris and nice to hear from you.

3.) 12 Feb 2019 09:31:16
Nice post Chris.

30 Dec 2018 19:55:51
Although there much work to be done. I'm enjoying football again. Thanks Ole.

1.) 30 Dec 2018 21:39:23
If we compare the last 3 matches then today the opposition created the most trouble for our defence. If we come up against better players then we might concede more but at least we will also attack and the fans would be treated to more entertaining matches.
I can see more end to end stuff against better teams. But it's nice to see our attacking spirit back. We just need someone to rotate with Matic otherwise he'll be exhausted after a few matches.

2.) 30 Dec 2018 23:31:59
It's just nice not to be so friggin bored with the game that I spend more time on my phone than watching it.

The last 3 games have been a breath of fresh air. I'll take some losses for the rest of the season if it means being entertained.

30 Dec 2018 11:48:54
Hoping for a huge win today. I know its only Bournemouth but the more wins we can get in a row it will only bring about more confidence.

As you know I ain't been around as much recently so I'm out of the loop on the 'inside workings' of the club from the legends that are ed01/ 02 but from what I fan see the club are actually trying to rectify their mistake since fergie left (prob before that too) .

Let concentrate on moving in the right direction and taking from there.

As always UTFR.

1.) 30 Dec 2018 12:45:03
Good to here from you mate hope all is well.

2.) 30 Dec 2018 13:26:56
Great to see you post Chris.

Can't predict anything in these xmas fixtures. If the team perform with energy and movement and pace we should be too much for bournmouth.

3.) 30 Dec 2018 14:55:05
Hey Chris, hope things are good with you.

4.) 30 Dec 2018 16:59:06
Hello Chris, been a long time since you have been here. Hope everything is great. How is the young one coming? Already a red devil?

14 Oct 2017 21:02:23
Grab a coffee :)

Strange game today, much like last seasons game we looked ok in the first half but the second was awful.

I have noticed the parking the bus comment a lot, whilst my first reaction was the same i'm not so sure it's totally correct. I think the game plan is ok (with the back 4 and 2 deep CM built to counter) but the attacking players were woeful. Martial and especially Mkhitaryan provided no confidence or link up play when the ball was won so on reflection I think it's a combination of the two, sitting and playing too deep and poor use of the ball.

Couple that with Atkinson's reluctance to give us anything regarding a 50/ 50 foul when we did pinch the ball in dangerous areas.

A draw is ok I guess, never happy with not winning but it is the biggest game of the season for both clubs, form goes out of the window and it always feels more like a cup game these ones. Leaving the away ground with a point is managable and might prove important.

Matic is so good, I'll be honest I never knew how good he was using the ball before he signed but boy that guy can play for a DM.
Jones was solid and I really hope his injuries are fully behind him now because he is starting to show the form that made us sign him.
Valencia has transformed himself into the best RB in England atm.
De Gea only really had one top save to make but that save would of been a goal again'st the 19 other goalkeeper in the league today the others were hardly dangerous and routine.
The rest of the team were wasteful at best.

{Ed025's Note - your team were thoroughly boring deano and seeing as its supposed to be an entertainment industry they were a disgrace mate. swap special one for snoring one . }

Ed24 I see this down the page.

Really mate? views like this is why I guess your lot are never near the trophies at the end of the season.
While I take on board it's your opinion, I don't think anyone will be worrying to much about this game at the end of the season when the trophis are handed out. :)

{Ed025's Note - your probably right chris, i was so disappointed with united though mate, this was a chance to make a statement for me...they made one but not the one i hoped..

1.) 14 Oct 2017 21:21:48
Oh as was I eddy, but not disgraced lol.

Sometimes you need to shut down shop and say we will not be beaten today and hope one of the attackers win the game.

Alas it didn't happen but a draw is not the end of the world, I guess it shows how far we have come to be disappointed more with the performance at Liverpool than the result. We will play a hell of better than that and lose in the future. I am never confident going into these games regardless of form.

The performances and scorelines so far I think allow us to write this one off and move on with the point.

{Ed025's Note - for me it depends on how you see football chris, if your happy to see your team graft without any purpose and dourly kill a game with no intent to entertain the fans then you should be happy, myself when i go to a game i want to be entertained and thrilled, i guess it would be a boring old world if we all thought the same mate..

2.) 14 Oct 2017 21:23:53
Got to agree with Ed 25 we were boring. We miss a truly world class player who can take a game by the scruff of the neck and also create something out of nothing. Pogba may or may not turn out to be that player but in his absence we have nobody to do it. City are playing fast fluid football which was our hallmark in our pomp. To be honest I think they are getting close to the rampant Barcelona team of a few years ago and I can see them winning this league by a good margin. Liverpool are not a good team and today we should have gone there intending to give them a really good hiding.

{Ed025's Note - my thought exactly hendon, i loved the united of 10-15 years ago, entertaining as well as effective and with a hint of steel, this one is like wimbledon in their pomp mate..

3.) 14 Oct 2017 22:14:59
To reiterate at no point did I say I'm happy with that performance, just I can deal with it and won't throw out over reaction statements like disgraceful lol.

Sure I go to and watch football to be entertained, but I'm also not so naive to think we can play pretty football every game and win. So far we have scored 4 goals a number of times this season, sit in 2nd place having scored a load of goals and have Liverpool away out of the way.
Coming into a massive away game on the back of an international break I can move on.

Sure people will 5 throw out the old "not played any big teams yet" remark but Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool and spurs are showing maybe these poor teams are not so poor actually?

As an Everton fan I'm sure u will understand how sick u feel losing at Liverpool regardless of how well u played. U can play the best football in the world but at the end of the day losing is not fun.

{Ed025's Note - i wont argue with that chris, i suppose im a bit of a purist when it comes to football mate..

4.) 14 Oct 2017 22:23:15
Sorry eddy not purposely trying to start a debate but Wimbledon.

Come on mate I think u are either being purposely daft or unintentionally over reactive lol.

This team has played some great football this season, has scored 4 goals on multiple occasions and sit 2nd in the prem, top of our CL group and comfortable in the domestic cups.

On second thought I think your just more upset Liverpool didn't get a pastime today :)

{Ed025's Note - im a football purist chris..

5.) 15 Oct 2017 05:37:17
I see merit in both sides of the banter. Agree that it was a boring game yesterday but there will always be plenty who expect more even if we WH k Pool, Chelsea or City 4-0. It will never stop. Question will be why can’t we score more even if we win by 3 goals.
But for me it’s all about being coming away not losing rather than to give our most fiercely and historically against football team the bragging rights. Who care if we didn’t play well? If we didn’t play well then why didn’t they win? Sure they are missing their key player but we are missing our key playerS too! We are probably at 50% strength whilst they are at 80%. There are at home and we playing away. So there will always be opinions. Great to hear all dude of opinions and that happy that there are still many emotional and loyal fans.
Both managers have a job to do and us fans can only try to understand and support. I’d love us to win at Anfield but good to get out of there unscathed. I am sure Kloppy will feel same if they come to OT. But I am sure we will be different if they are here.
That said 1 pt earned and need to continue to focus on CL and challenge the PL title. Am sure City will drop somewhere somehow. Let’s see. Like I said it’s a marathon and not a sprint. Come end of season who knows that 1 pt might be very key to title and second who knows 😂😂. Good weekend all.

6.) 15 Oct 2017 12:59:37
Surely the statement is made in May ed when your lifting the big trophy?

{Ed025's Note - there is only one team lifting the PL trophy deano...and they play in sky blue mate..

19 Aug 2017 22:30:06
Ok lads I for one am not going to get carried away after just two games ok!

I think we will won the lot.

1.) 20 Aug 2017 01:48:02

That gave me a chuckle, great to see the positivity on here at the moment. Shame the live chat isn't like that until we are winning but I guess emotions run high during the game and people say silly things they don't mean.

2.) 20 Aug 2017 08:26:10
I thought live chat was good yesterday and no drama. Most of us wanted that second goal as we looked a bit shaky defending crosses.

We seem to have a debate on rash every game with people wanting more from him. I think if shaw gets back and provides him that speed and width, it will make him look better as he clearly does not go wide enough for my liking and come in too much and bit predictable. Blind has been solid but he does not have shaw pace to be bombing down the channel and not getting exposed on the counter and in a way stays put on many occasions.

3.) 20 Aug 2017 08:59:12
If jose wanted rash to hug the touch line I think he would play him on the right.
I think he is playing on the left so he can cut inside.

4.) 20 Aug 2017 09:11:44
Or maybe Rashford is faithful to his own touch line and does not want to go hugging other people's touch lines.

5.) 20 Aug 2017 09:28:45
It's not where he plays or what he does, it's more like he just puts his head down and runs without actually knowing what to do next. He and Martial are playing the same game but with Martial you actually have composure and the end product. It's no surprise United have looked far more threatening and have been able to carve open 2 defences easily when Martial has come on.

6.) 20 Aug 2017 09:55:50

We get it, you don't like Rashford. Fairly sure he 'carved apart' West Ham for the first goal last week with a great run and defence splitting pass. Martial coming on when the opposition are tired and chasing the game is always going to have more space so to judge the 2 solely based on two games where they both played different parts is at best naive and at worst a deliberate way to have a go at Rashford.

In my opinion Rashford has been brilliant so far this season other than his composure on the chance yesterday. None of the defenders he has played against so far have been able to cope with him. He's 19 and can improve a few things in his game (even his finishing csm 😂) but I'm sure Jose is happy with his contribution so far and so am I.

7.) 20 Aug 2017 10:08:02
I think rash has been excellent so far, looked a handful and scares teams.

8.) 20 Aug 2017 12:13:24
I am sorry GDS but if that's what you think than fine. Yes I don't have the romance with Rashford because he is a local lad. I really wouldn't have given a crows rubbish if he were from Bhutan. I am calling what I am seeing. Rashford keeps getting chances and he keeps missing those. For me that's simply not good enough. And add to the fact that people think he is a striker. That's already 4 open chances in 3 games this season including the Super Cup and he has 0 goals. That tells me what I want to know. I follow the club and not the player. So if you think I am having a go at Rashford is unjustified, I am more than happy to be proven wrong by the player rather than a bunch of keyboard warriors having blind faith in him. I will keep my humble pie ready. It's a world of cut throat competition. If you don't grab what you have in front of you, someone else will crush you and take it right there. Hope Rashford doesn't get crushed. Else you see Welbeck.

9.) 20 Aug 2017 12:40:38
Shan he's a 19 yr old boy lol. U expect him to be the finished article already?

Personally I would play Martial next week but rash needs time.

10.) 20 Aug 2017 12:46:01
I was really impressed with Rashford's passing in tight areas yesterday. It was crisp and tight and 6 months ago he'd have been giving it away a lot more in those situations. Yes, he missed a good opportunity yesterday, but I'm hoping that he just needs to get off the mark to get his finishing going. He's only 19 and since coming through, I think he has added a lot more to his game than just running at defenders, he's a much better member of the team now.

11.) 20 Aug 2017 13:02:14
How disheartening must it be be for opposition right backs? Having Marcus run them ragged and soften them up for 70 minutes, thinking they're going to get a breather, then look to the bench, and seeing Martial getting ready to come on. Love it.

12.) 20 Aug 2017 14:27:14
Sham, fair enough, but you are like a broken record when it comes to Rashford.

13.) 20 Aug 2017 15:02:44
True that AJH. I am like a broken record. But then so is Rashford when it comes to scoring a goal after that mesmerising run.

14.) 20 Aug 2017 21:14:57
Rashford needs to just gain a bit of composure in front of goal and that chance he had yesterday where he tried to flick it over the keeper showed good invention yet he couldn't execute it

The flick around the full back first half around the halfway line was a sublime piece of skill, his pace is frightening and good dribbling skills, he just needs that composure but there is a very good attacker there -wouldnt mind seeing him rough up a few defenders as he got roughed up yesterday at times himself.

15.) 20 Aug 2017 22:57:23
Martial is the better finisher at the moment, I'd love to see them both start, that pace on the flanks would be something else, but as someone said, either off them coming off the bench for the last 20 mins must just kill the oppositions defense, and its an ace we have up our sleeve and Joses plays it well.
PS - Sydney!, do you live in Sydney or is that just a your name (nickname)

That United blood in you coming out mate.

{Ed001's Note - erm. Somehow I doubt that. If there was any of that in me me ma would have crucified me as a child. Me mate gave me a Wolves shirt once as a present. It was a proper team shirt like, as replicas weren't something you bought then in the early 80s when I was in primary school. She burnt it.}

Most clubs in England have a atmosphere problem. It happened years ago when clubs moved fans from each other after redeveloping a ground.
Stoke can create an atmosphere at times also palace.

The others are all poor.

Ed01 is right. For some daft reason the Glasgow clubs seem to wear there 'rivalry' as a badge of honour.

It often gets disgusting and nothing to be proud of. Certainly nothing to come on a united message board and boast about that's for sure.

The thought process was to sit deep and let sevilla have the ball. Then when we won it dump it to fellani and have runners off him to pick up the balls.

It was a terrible display redman, soon as I saw Fellani in the 11 I knew the game we were going to play and knew it would be tricky.

The preparation for the game wasn't exactly right if you ask me. After the game against Liverpool the players should of been on a high, raring to go but instead our manager went for FDB and allowed eyes to wonder away from the task at hand.

I understand Mourinho's frustration, he seems to get a lot of unjust flak but pick your times to hit back. He done it against Conte perfectly.

The sad thing is we actually have some really good players. De Gea, Baily, Matic, Pogba, Rashford and Martial are all good players to build our team around. But, for some reason we have made Fellani, Young, Lingard and Smalling our important players.

Defence is our real weak link. Our fullbacks are average and Smalling is the worse defender at the club. Yet we set up to give them the most work. We can't be suprised when they let us down.

It's not all bad though on fact far from it. But performances need to improve and wins must become consistent.

I think we are ok atm. Nothing great but the mentality is back.

Once we upgrade a few positions we will be a lot closer to city.
