Hi All,
When are you all going to realise even though we are Manchester United we just don't do it in the transfer market. Spent loads last year to show financial muscle nothing else, how many of them were a success? Only one I can think of and that's the little Spaniard and even then it took 6 months for him to be given a chance.

Its that time of year chaps, any targets of ours will go elsewhere as always, we will then panic buy towards the end of the window.

Kondogbia - Class act just what we need, joined Inter for peanuts when not even in Champions league, we are being linked with a 30 year old passed his best in the same position.

De Gea going - we have let Cech join Arsenal

Hummels - won't happen despite months of chat
Real Madrid players won't join in any swap deal.

Pleased with Depay but guys that's the best it is going to get this summer, we need to forget about it because as usual we will either buy late and expensive or do nothing as usual.

Usual summer of disappointment guys, we were lucky for years with the Magician that is Sir Alex getting more out of players than he should have, now we need to spend big we are not the same force on the pitch.

Oh Clarkdog.

Schweinstiger is 4 or 5 times the player Kondogbia is and probably ever will be.

You can complain about Schweinstiger being passed his best and the moan when we don't get a 33 year old goalkeeper, who is past his best. Just doesn't make sense.

Hummels is a dissapointment i must admit, but how do you know any Real Madrid players won't join? no-body knows and that's half the fun in the transfer market.

End of the day we all banter back and fourth but no-body other than LvG and Mr Woodward know who we want.

Hope i speak for us all with this post and say there is no need for the doom and gloom. But then again i may have just bitten on your rod (No innuendo)

2.) 24 Jun 2015 12:48:33
You can't possibly say who will or won't sign, did anyone expect di maria and falcao to sign last summer? Despite them underperforming it shows we can get some very big names in, there's loads of time left chill out.

3.) 24 Jun 2015 13:03:58
Harry,

I think unfortunately this post is genuine, you haven't been caught in a rod.

Clark, how tall are you? Herrera is 6 foot, not sure he is a 'little Spaniard', or did you mean Mata (I don't think you did).

Well done for getting 'just what we need' into the post. Always nice to see new posters, but we have enough doom and gloom merchants through the season without them coming out of the woodwork in June.

4.) 24 Jun 2015 13:44:19
Thank god GDS2 - I can't be seen having another posters rod in my mouth. The doom and gloom makes me laugh though. Comparing Kondogbia to Schweinstiger is like comparing Joe Allen to Ander Herrera ;-)

5.) 24 Jun 2015 13:49:10
Kondogbia is not a class act, a decent player with potential but to label him class at 22 is a bit ambitious,

and as for letting cech go arsenal(we were never interested in him), we already have a keeper ready to take over from dea gea if and when he's goes in valdes,

and there's been talk of several cbs not just hummels so how do you know he is the main defender we want?

schweinsteiger being passed it is not a serious comment is it?

all this talk about other teams buying players, were not getting anyone and blar blar blar, who have city got? chelsea? arsenal? spurs? all classed as champions league contenders, they have bought no one. other than liverpool who haven't bought players who we all sitting here worried about, ings= average, milner = isn't really a game changer is he, and as for this flimino or what ever he is called how many people even new he existed a month ago.

get a grip of yourself

Clarkdog, be patient man. I too really wanted Kondogbia but we have to trust that LVG has other CM targets, hopefully Schneiderlin. On Cech, we have to respect the fact that he wanted to stay in London, where his family had settled. Time will tell regarding Hummels or other CB options.

Fail to see how the manager being away stops transfers, the shaw and Herrera deals were done while he was with Holland.

When we will be like our competitors and identify targets and go get them? Woodward done his usual and shirt/tickets sales up and now nothing like last season.

Clarkdog7

1.) I'm not a fan of Woodward either, but in his defence Shaw and Herrera had been identified as targets by Moyes. It seems that LVG just had to agree to the transfers as they were already close to completion, which is why they were able to be completed whilst he was at the World Cup.

Hi Eds, get job as always. I appreciate all your responses such as deals can be done, there is interest, the club are looking for a centre back etc etc.

Can you shed any light as to why nothing is being done? All other clubs at the top end have done their business or the cast majority of it while United have paid big money for an unproven premier league player plus a left back with potential.

Always seems to be the way than we drag and drag ourselves through the window and then nothing happens.

Surely it is obvious to everybody that we need players and sooner rather than later. .

Clarkdog7

{Ed002's Note - The manager was not around - if you have half a brain then you would know that. The club has been working hard, most responsible supporters know that.}

1.) 12 Aug 2014 05:05:46
Working hard. really?

Pay the fee…thats simple.

Time to get quality, not the bargain of the month. I never complaint about bringing unknow player, this time we should do it the easy way. splash the cash!!!

Well it's August 8th, the big! What do we all reckon? Massive news apparently, I am going for Moyes to say "we are still looking" and we can all gasp in astonishment.

Clarkdog7

1.) I think today will pass and we'll know nothing new. Hope I'm wrong. Was the "8th August" speculation not fabricated by a newspaper over the date we'd announce the ronaldo signing?

Which sponsorship deal have we agreed for 53 million? It won't be for a player.

Woodward vanished shortly after the interview where he said we would break the bank

RedAndy, what makes him any better than a squad player? He gave the ball away over 30 times in 90 minutes at the World Cup, Scholes gave it away 30 times in his career.

Yes loads of assists for Madrid last year, how do you judge that? In a league where only two teams compete barring the one off last year, also he is creating chances on a poor league for the likes of Ronaldo who converts most chances so helps Di Maria look better.

Me and you would have 10+ assists in la liga in the Madrid team. If he is so good why are they selling him?

Come on guys this is United. I am a massive fan and have been for 30 years now but I gave finally realised that we can't compete in the transfer market.or should I say don't want to.

Chelsea, Man City, Barca, Madrid, Bayern and now even Arsenal to a degree identify a player and then buy them it's not rocked science. We link ourselves with every player on the planet, Woodward then talks his usual rubbish, sales go up then he vanishes from the planet having done his job of making the club money.

Who has seen him since that interview when he was going to rock the world with blockbuster transfers? Crawled back under his rock I am afraid.

Get real guys when did United last go out and buy a top class player? Will be no different this year.or next.

Did anybody watch the World Cup? Against Switzerland in the last 16 Di Maria gave the ball away 30+ times in the 90 minutes before extra time. Granted he scored the winner in extra time but against decent opposition there wouldn't have been extra time with somebody giving the ball away that often, especially a player like him who then doesn't bother trying to win it back.

Not sure why everyone is excited about Di Maria? Maybe for 10 million as a squad player but other than that why bother, why are Madrid so keen to get rid of him??
