Very few comments on here after an excellent performance. Forget how CSKA played, we played them of the park and were in complete control.

Fantastic away performance where the team looked like a proper team. Delighted.

There's been very few comments over the last number of weeks to be fair.

It's always difficult to go away especially in Russia. And we dominated the game, it could and should have been even more.

There is a complete sense of confidence around this team at the moment, plays like a 12th man on the pitch.

Really looking forward to every game now.

Thought Herrera, Matic and Martial (and De Gea! ) were simply outstanding.

3.) 28 Sep 2017 10:16:50
herrera just never stops. I can't tell the difference between his energy in the 1st and 90th minute.

Delighted with the game today. The performance could have been better, but really enjoyed the spirit they showed pushing for goals at the end of the game.

Lukaku's assist showed how clearly he was thinking, even though he was desperate to score in front of the booing toffees. Perfect weighted pass for Miki that looks so simple and easy, except when it is weighted just slightly wrong and the chance is missed or saved. How fitting that Rom was then rewarded with his goal, the football gods were smiling.

Rash had an off day. It will happen. I would push Martial in for the next start and give rash.

Sent by accident!

I would give Rash the role of coming into the game on 60 mins. Martial, Rash, Lingard, Mata will all push each other all season for those two wide forward roles. Great development for the younger players.

2.) 17 Sep 2017 23:21:31
Brilliant game brilliant result.

Didnot c us winning that by 4 goals again.

Over the moon with us so far.

Huge game tomorrow. Forget Rooney Lukaku returns. We have to show that we are not willing to give up the top of the table without a fight. I hope the players show a bit of fight and pride and go for some goals towards the end of the game.

The way city are playing I would hate to let them over take us by playing out a boring 1 nil defensive display.

I am not for one minute suggesting that Everton will be a walk over, or indeed that we will demolish them by more than a 4 goal difference. But I would hate to see us simply sitting back and not going for the kill on a weekend when City have raced past us.

Tierney is looking a very good player, I know Bond and a few others have mentioned him as an option for us before.

Is he ready for a step up to a big club? (sorry Bond! ๐Ÿ˜‚)

DodgyBanter

{Ed007's Note - He's not interested in leaving and has said he wants to try and win 10 in a row with us, he's doing what he's dreamt of all his life and only turned 20 the other day so there's no rush for him to move on. Didn't you see the Scottish Cup Final? He got smashed in the face and had to go off to hospital, after he was treated the police wouldn't let the car he was in up to the stadium so he got out and ran up the street and into Hampden just in time to get lifting the cup at the tail end of the presentation. I'm not watching the game but I'd guess he's been moved to RB today as well?}

1.) 10 Jun 2017 18:07:58
Smalling is having a mare . Sorry but we can do better than him. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ.

{Ed007's Note - I've stuck it now while the Mrs takes the dog a walk, how's Stuart Armstrong done? He had a great season for us and looks like a different player under Rodgers.}

2.) 10 Jun 2017 23:40:05
tierney wouldn't want to move to a smaller club.

Ed004 below you say our signings have not been good enough. Do you mean before last window, or do you not think Ibra, Miki, Pogba and Bailly were good enough? Surely that was a fantastic window?!

DodgyBanter

{Ed004's Note - I meant the previous windowns. LVG last few were disastrous. How many of them are still here or need replaced? I was delighted with last summers}

1.) 02 May 2017 09:30:10
To be honest since Sir Alex left only last summer's and possibly Mata have been good enough signings.

Everyone else has been poor. I had high hopes for Schniederlin and Delay. Rojo and Blind I think have proven to be solid squad signings, but we needed to rebuild the first team before we start to upgrade and replace squad fillers.

Our recruitment since Sir Alex left has been scatter gun to say the least.

With players like Ferdinand, Vidic and Evra clearly on their last legs, along with Carrick and few other options in midfield it was clear where we needed to spend.

For all of the talk of cavalier football under Sir Alex it was always built on a solid defence. Bruce/ Palister, Stam/ Johnsen or Ferdinand/ Vidic.

You build a team from the back out, so we should have focused on that.

Then the midfield, Anderson, Cleverly, and aging Carrick and Fletcher recovering from illness. None bar Carrick was good enough at that time, and clearly serious work needed doing to give us a functional midfield. If we focused on those areas in the first couple of windows after Sir Alex had left and brought in real quality in those positions then future managers would just need to add to finishing touches.

2.) 02 May 2017 10:05:49
Yeah it's been a big waste of money and opportunity on the whole, playing people out of their best positions, not playing new signings regularly, not trusting new signings and generally playing a different way to which most of them have been used to (defence trumps attack for the past 3 managers) .

Mata for me has been underwhelming for the money we spent (a few good games, but not too many jump out), but again he has been played out of position a lot of the time and it's very difficult for creative players in our team because they have so few options to pass the ball, or runners creating space for them. It would be nice to go back 4 years and re-spend the money and make more astute hires, never has there been such a wasted opportunity imo.

3.) 02 May 2017 10:50:37
Not been on for a long time but totally agree with beast. A kings ransom has been spent and we are no further forward. Too many fans now accept mediocrity. The play is too slow with too many average players.

4.) 02 May 2017 12:03:58
Utd definitely need a director of football, how many times are we going to buy high end mediocrity at Kings ransom money and sell full blown internationals at bargain basement prices, this cannot be allowed to continue.

5.) 02 May 2017 15:07:19
A director of football won't be spending the amount asked for for grease-man then! i like him but i don't think he's worth the numbers being quoted.

I agree completely that Miki is best played centrally. I would not change the starting line up right now, other than maybe a wide right player for Mata. Or a fully fit and on form Shaw at left back.

I was just suggesting where Jose might play Ibra of he is back fit. I think he will start more games than not.

Could he play 10 behind Lukaku? Could push Miki back out wide again. Can't see Ibra sitting on the bench when fit.

Never ceases to amaze me how good players get when they don't play ๐Ÿ˜‚.

DodgyBanter

{Ed004's Note - Iโ€™m confused. So you donโ€™t think Pogba, Bailly, Fellaini and Rashford werenโ€™t big misses for united and Mane wasnโ€™t a massive miss for Liverpool?}

I think you under estimate how much faith Jose has in young to do his job.

Could be 5 3 2 with that line up, can switch quite easily.

Tactically both managers will feel they need to do something.

Klipperty will be desperate to fit in an extremely attacking front five, but will be worried about being caught at the back.

Jose will want to stick to his tried and tested team. But left back is a concern, and Rashford will end up playing as an extra left back.

With the likely Liverpool line up I could almost see us going 352, which sounds overly cautious. but could be a good way of keeping Rashford or Martial further forward. We could bring in Young wide left for Mata to retain some width.

Come on Stoupid, play the game. Next you'll be saying they don't live in a council house and their supporters don't all come from Stockport.
