Apparently, it's bye, bye Ibra. I will miss him. He was great for us.

1.) 03 Jun 2017 07:27:58
Is that because the likes of the Sun and Star newspapers has reported it, take newspapers reports with a pinch of salt

Spoken to a fellow fan (who can be quite reliable) the other week has said that Ibra is willing to not get paid while he injured

Do the Eds know the real situation with Zlatan right now?

{Ed002's Note - It was a major mistake and something the club need to resolve as soon as they can. The club need to build for the future and get a step ahead.}

2.) 03 Jun 2017 10:16:45
IBRA has been adequate at best given the wages he was on. Yes he scored a lot of goals but then he played a lot of games and was given a lot of chances.

Ed002 in what way was it a major mistake and do the club management acknowledge that it was a mistake?

3.) 03 Jun 2017 11:06:46
Lets be honest his ego won't wanna sit on the bench if we are looking to sign a lukaku or belotti they would have to be first choice also he was brought in to fill a gap need to go out n sign that goal scoring striker this summer with rashford and the rest about n his age n coming back from a bad injury wouldn't be the worst thing to let him go!

4.) 03 Jun 2017 09:50:58
Hi Wd - forgive me if you've explains this but why was it a huge mistake in our view? Seems the injury is a perfect excuse to allow him to leave now surely?

{Ed002's Note - I have explained before.}

5.) 03 Jun 2017 10:16:45

{Ed002's Note - I am not opening it up again.}

6.) 05 Jun 2017 12:55:23
The Ibra mistake was basically the fact that he is 35, his wages are abhorrent, he blocks the development of Martial and Rashford in that no.9 spot, he altered our style of play because when we could find a route to goal we resorted to lumping balls to him, which he was often to lazy to chase.

He's arrogant and would never be dropped. Thanks for the goals but we need to get rid now. We all know he won't take a bench spot so there's no point suggesting it.

If United want to build for the future it can't involve Zlatan.

I've been following utd since big ron but now I've decided that the premier league and Man utd are not for me anymore. I work a high stress job and watching Utd was a great escape for me. For the last few years the media build up for football as if it is the most important thing on our earth is too much. I don't think it's the best thing for my son to aspire to be an overpaid athlete. Also I get no joy from watching this utd team or any other team anymore. The boys from 92 is what I enjoyed most, building a team from our youth teams. Now it's just about are we going to spend 100 million on a player. I'm not a glory hunter and if united won the league, I would feel the same. Anyway, goodluck, I now have to put my time into DIY.

1.) 30 Dec 2017 13:39:15
People do seem more interested in who we are going to buy than the actual players at times .
I do agree money has spoilt it for me a bit, United have some real good players at the moment some great young talent and are doing ok at the moment yet people are still sulking.
Take it back to basics cut out the crap and try and enjoy it again .

My best memories are probably when we didn't spend the most, didn't think we had a god given right to win everything but you did feel you where in it together win lose or draw .

2.) 30 Dec 2017 13:44:45
I get what you mean Garr but you never turn your back on your club no matter what the situation. No matter how badly we are playing on the field or how much money is ruining the game I will always love united.

3.) 30 Dec 2017 13:57:28
That's very admirable park but I'm not getting any younger and my spare time means a lot to me. This spare time can be better spent for me. Jred, the sense that we were all in it together is exactly right. We do sound like entitled brats sometimes.
The main point for me is that I have no joy watching anymore.

4.) 30 Dec 2017 14:00:09
And I'm not turning my back on my club, i'm turning my back on football.

5.) 30 Dec 2017 14:04:47
my apologies Garr i misinterpeted! but i agree the last month or so has been unenjoyable and we all just want to see us back at the top playing exciting football. don't think we are too far but i think we will have to spend even more (obscene) amount of money to get there. Football has lost its soul and it is no longer about the beautiful game but about the money.

6.) 30 Dec 2017 15:19:42
I know exactly where you're coming from Garr. Football has become a buy a club, spend loads of money and win. I said few years back that this will destroy the game. To be honest, I'm in agreement with you as the soul has been ripped out of it.

7.) 30 Dec 2017 16:35:40
I'm never drinking again.

8.) 30 Dec 2017 21:31:09
I can understand your sentiment, Garr. It's sad when you plan your week around watching your team and all they do is bore, frustrate, disappoint and embarrass you.

9.) 30 Dec 2017 21:30:29
Football is in danger of disappearing up its own arse because of sky and the money and if that's genuinely the reason your turning your back on your team and football in general then I don't blame you, but it seems like you are doing this because your team is not what it was and doesn't look like getting back there any time soon, if so then that is the reaction of a spoilt brat who as soon as the going gets tough he gets off, if it's the former then coming on here is really bad timing on your part and should have been said when your team hasn't just been on the end of a poor result.

06 Dec 2017 17:42:55
So Clattenburg was petrified of Keane and changed a corner decision because of it. Is it just me or should he have kept this to himself. You have to wonder what other decisions he bottled and it shows players that intimidation can work.

Garr205

{Ed025's Note - i think he has shot himself in the foot garr, he has done a lot of damage to the reputation of other premier league officials as well mate..

1.) 06 Dec 2017 18:25:30
Horrible, horrible man he is.

2.) 06 Dec 2017 19:46:36
Not sure if he is a horrible man, but definitely a bit of a fit.

3.) 06 Dec 2017 21:01:19
He was seen as the best so his recent revelations are pretty depressing. I always thought he had balls but apparently they are they are the size of peanuts. Very sad.

4.) 06 Dec 2017 22:10:24
Evidence that sometimes referees want to make it all about themselves. even after all of these years he’s wanting the glory, we joke about Fergie and refs but this is such stupidity from a ‘professional’.

5.) 06 Dec 2017 22:14:45
He has been naive but I would suggest listening to the podcast in full rather than picking out the quotes out of context that the press want you to head.

6.) 06 Dec 2017 22:14:50
Hear*.

7.) 06 Dec 2017 23:02:40
I agree with that gds but the thought of listening to his whiney voice for a full podcast puts me off. I always thought he was a pretty good ref to be honest.
I think it's the hardest job in football from grass roots right through to the epl.
They take it in the neck from u8 upwards. To be fair every time the blow their whistle and give a decision they are upsetting 50% of the people. Player coaches and the media are all guilty of making the refs job harder than it should be. Remember collina he struck fear into the players and earned their respect. Watching english teams in Europe they rarely surround question or abuse the refs. Sometimes familiarity breads contempt and the players in the epl are too familiar with the refs and you can see at times that the refs are in awe and fear of the players instead of the other way round.

8.) 07 Dec 2017 12:17:27
His comments on the spurs Chelsea match are awful.

9.) 07 Dec 2017 17:26:04
Jane you listened to the full podcast jred?

10.) 07 Dec 2017 18:28:00
Just the bits on the Chelsea spurs match . And I only listened to that because I didn't believe he was that stupid to of said all that .

11.) 07 Dec 2017 20:44:16
I havn't listened to it myself just wondering as it's been reported that its be taken out of context.

13 Nov 2017 13:12:40
Get well soon, to ex red Liam Miller. Still a young man with a tough battle ahead oh him.

Garr205

1.) 13 Nov 2017 13:38:27
Yeah, wishing him the best.

2.) 13 Nov 2017 14:07:04
Here here Garr.
A thoroughly nice young man my prayers are with him.

3.) 13 Nov 2017 23:45:43
Why has someone disagreed with you wishing him well?

4.) 13 Nov 2017 23:46:43
Get well Liam and fight that horrible disease.

01 Nov 2017 12:46:35
I guess Jose stopped Lukaku taking the penalty because should he have missed it, the fans would be on his back again and put even. more pressure on him.

Garr205

1.) 01 Nov 2017 13:09:03
No, Blind just been taking them well in training so he wanted him to take it.

2.) 01 Nov 2017 13:28:35
75 million striker should be well able to step up and score a penalty or at least give it a go. Every striker will miss a penalty and there wasn't that much pressure on for that game last night against benfica worst team in the group.

3.) 01 Nov 2017 13:37:34
That's why jose manages man united and the rest of us just think we can. Goal was scored so good call.
Lukaku wanted it but he obeyed instruction. Good call.

4.) 01 Nov 2017 13:46:11
Sorry if been asked but any Ed’s know anything about when Pogba is due back?

{Ed001's Note - after the international break mate.}

5.) 01 Nov 2017 13:50:56
If we had a two goal cushion already I suspect Lukaku would have taken it. But he did miss the last penalty he took for us which cost us points. Jose is a pragmatist and will want the result wrapped up first and foremost. A 2-0 lead at that point in the match was going to almost guarantee the three points. Miss a penalty for a second time in the same match then that could have given Benfica the lift they needed to score the equaliser.

So Jose went down the pragmatic path of securing three points over potentially giving his main striker a lift.

Alternatively not allowing Lukaku take penalties might be a way of giving him a kick up the backside. Not allowing him "easy" goals to make him work harder in the games to score the goals he will need if he wants the golden boot.

6.) 01 Nov 2017 14:21:39
Spot on shappy. if lukaku had missed the moaners would be saying why let him take it he missed the last one. storm in a teacup and it just gives all the empty vessles something to make noise about.

7.) 01 Nov 2017 15:01:26
Snappy we still beat Leicester 2-0 after lukaku missed his penalty so it cost us no points? I think it was a weird decision to actaully prevent him from taking it as we seemed to be at little risk of conceding at that stage in the game, easy goals are worth the same as 40 yard screamers and it's well known that getting on the scoresheet helps strikers, half their game is confidence.

8.) 01 Nov 2017 15:02:43
Ah fantastic news Ed001. How are you Ed?

{Ed001's Note - good thanks mate, how about you?}

9.) 01 Nov 2017 15:37:00
Yes all good, apart from working waking night shifts this week and feeling like a zombie all is well ha.

10.) 01 Nov 2017 20:05:57
True enough Darkred, for some reason I thought it was in the 2-2 draw with Stoke. Either way he did miss his last penalty.

11.) 01 Nov 2017 20:50:46
Ye he did but everyone misses sometimes what if United play in a penalty shootout later in the season? he's been held off all year because he missed his last penalty, do you think he'd be eager to volunteer or confident walking up to the spot? Anyway I just hope he can get one or two Sunday!

09 Jun 2017 19:50:26
Interesting, that Ezekile Fryers was released by palace, After the drama with Spurs taking him from us a few years back, I expected him to be a top player. Pity for the kid.

Garr205

1.) 10 Jun 2017 05:55:12
So many flatter to deceive, they look promising but don't push on and reach the top level. The League is now full of ex United players who never quite made it.

I'm not looking to start a witchhunt but Herrera was poor again, he plays with heart but that'll only get you so far.

I think it would be a mistake and unfair to think that our form might return when Pogba is back in the team. He will help but confidence looks low in some players.

I admit Ken that post reads quite negative, when actually I really enjoy watching utd now. Can nobody point out ways they think the team can improve or is that toxic.
