Along with Gerard Deulofeu, Oliver Torres, Hectorin Bellorin and Jose Luis Gaya - he looks like one of the next great Spanish players.
When I've watched him play he's seemed solid enough but there's still a lot of learning to be done. I can't imagine him making an immediate impact and wonder where he would fit as he's primarily a defensive minded midfielder.
That said I do think he'd be a good long term signing if managed correctly.

He's a midfielder who is equally adept playing as a box-to-box as he is playing defensive midfield. One of the most highly thought upcoming players in Spain. Makes sense with Fellaini likely to be moved on and Carrick probably retiring.

Saul has said he his committing his future to Atletico .
Think back a year or so ago when Woodward was courting Van Gaal when Moyes was in charge, and using Van Persie to help get him into the managers hot seat .
Why oh why aren't we repaying the favour and sacking van gaal and getting Jose in?
Hurts me to say I can't stand watching the team anymore and pray they lose games, so they can get rid of that bafoon we have as a manager.

Just thought I'd share this with you guys!! I've had a very interesting weekend.
I have a couple of contacts who have given me little snippets!!.
Number 1! ( an ex Utd footballer and international manager, still works for Utd! Related through marrage!)
He says we are working on a Stella signing but it's very complicated!
Number 2! ( an ex Utd trainee ( post class of 92 era) now a football agent with worldwide contacts and massive contacts inside Utd. I've known him for 20 years, he's an old school friend)
We tried signing otamendi in August 2014 but was too complicated! Looking likely he will sign.
Utd want cech to replace de gea but talks are still going on for de gea to sign his Utd contract( the delay though could allow arsenal to sign Cech. ( cechs choice would be to join Utd)
Number 3!! ( ex Utd international player who still loves Utd and has a massive influence within all his squads. I worked with him but class him as a mate.
He said, pogba, varane, lacazette definately no go's for Utd. But benzema and Vidal are strong possibilities. Talks have began but again complicated!
Number 2 also said if we end up losing de gea and Cech has already gone to arsenal it's going to cost us a lot of money for lloris!

I'd much rather see Cech lining up for you guys next season than for Arsenal, so I really hope you're right Gman! Besides, for them he'd be a significant upgrade whilst you've already got a top level goalkeeper so that'd definitely make it easier to take!

We could have had Cech finalised days ago however recently de gea is that undecided that more efforts were put into keeping him! ( we could of got Cech but then definately lost de gea, we could end up keeping de gea which will keep everyone happy , me included!) just hope we don't lose out on Cech , lose de gea then are scrambling about at the last minute. My contact number 2 is adamant it'll be de gea or Cech as our number 1 next season!

A near cert is ddg has gone and Cech is our no 1 replacement! Cech wants to come too! He has never said he wants to stay in london( Spurs or arsenal) he actually wants to stay in the UK so not to unsettle his children. They will stay in London ( whilst he is in Manchester) I live in worsley ( Manchester) and have spoken to a local agent(known him for over 20 years, I went to school with him) he has connections worldwide aswel as massive Utd connections.It's not 100% done but it's what Utd and Cech want!

i already think we have our replacement in valdez, for some reason i just think we will use the money we get from dea gea to strenthern elsewhere.
valdes is still a very good keeper and the last game of the season he proved he still has very good reactions and is still a good keeper.

I think he actually wants Arsenal move.
I also think we will either stick with Valdes or go for someone like Cilleson who may be willing to come in and fight for 1st choice even if not 1st choice straight away.

We apparently enquired a few weeks ago to whether cech would be interested should de gea leave. The response was positive. Like I said it's not 100% but I was told he would prefer us to arsenal ( not the other way round). But this is football ( greavsie said its a funny old game) so anything can happen.

Completely disagree about Valdez.
I think Bob Wilson in his 70s would have looked good at Barcelona over the past 10 years because the team in front of him were that good.
Sorry but in my opinion Valdez is nothing more than a shot stopper and always has been.
We definitely need a new keeper if DDG goes.
I agree with Cech, he would be a superb signing for us but is Cech decides to stay in London and go to Arsenal then we have to go for Asmir Begovic at Stoke who would be a snip rather than paying ridiculous money to that idiot Daniel Levy at Spurs.

i think valdes has always been over rated yes he is a good shot stopper but he has made a lot of errors when playing for barcelona and isn't the most assured.
would worry me if he is our no.1 and our defence don't improve

I personally think we should wait and see what happens with DDG first. United have had and successfully replaced world class keepers twice in the last 16 years. With LVG's experience I'm sure that, if DDG leaves, we'll be just fine.

I'd like to see Jan Oblak or Jasper Cillessen? Although Yann Sommer and Bernd Leno would also good? Basically, any of the 4! I think our goalkeeping coach worked wonders with De Gea, and I think he'll do the same with whoever comes in! From outside looking in, our defence will be much improved too taking that, we'll be set!

I was actually talking about how few decent right backs there were with someone and he told me to keep an eye on Rosales as United are watching him. I have not watched Malaga play, but he had looked decent in the Copa. The person I spoke to had recommended him as a Clyne alternative to Liverpool and Man Utd but he believes only United are having a look right now. No idea if they will move for him, that will be down to LVG to decide when he has had a good look at the scouting reports. It does seem there are very few options around for the position though, so it is entirely possible he could be chosen.}

This is going to go on till the last day of the transfer window. Utd have a contingency in place if it does, I think it's paying oblak's release clause!! Could one of the eds confirm if they know of a release clause in lloris's contract too, I've been told that it also includes one.
