If these rumours are to be believed and Jose is to be our next manager I may take a year out from football (joke) . Seriously though I cannot stand the guy and would be very dissapointed if he was to take over. Still hoping for Ancellotti but that's looking less and less likely know.

I can't say I would Jose to be our next manager. Too confrontational for me. That said he does know how to win, and with this league the way it is this season, he could just pep us up enough to do some damage.

2.) 20 Dec 2015 07:29:32
Jose will certainly be an upgrade from what we have right now tbh! Yes people may not love him, but he knows the league well and can bring immediate success for sure. Hoping for the best for my beloved club though!

Well regardless of how this finishes now, this is the most excitement from a game I've had all season. Fantastic game of football from both teams.

I just don't know what to say any more, I have defended LVG to the hilt, but this brand of football is not working for the players we have. Mata slows the play down so much, Martial is being wasted on the wing and our most potent atttacking threat is Ashley Young. I really like young, always have, but with the attacking quality wev have in the team, this brand of football is clearly not working. Yes we are getting results but at what expense? I watched the City vs Southampton game today and city were brilliant. We need to go back to our United roots and play quick attacking football. I never though I would say this but LVG out.

I have to say I didn't think City were that brilliant today. They made the best of some very poor defending by Southampton in the first half during which they gave away possession far too easily. In the second Southampton almost came back to equalize before City sealed it.

We are dull, it's true, but a draw at Leicester was at least the equal of the City result and, personally, I thought we could/should have won it. On balance we had more chances. What's still missing are forwards and midfielders who know how to work as a team when they run into the box. There was one occasion when 4 players all went into the 6 yd area, only for the ball to be passed behind them.

2.) 29 Nov 2015 06:57:58
I thought we were dire, we appear to be getting worse every game.

3.) 29 Nov 2015 08:38:58
As much as I don't Want a player injured it would be interesting to see how we play if Rooney was out for a couple of games.
Young is notime world class but very good. none of the Leicester players or Southampton last year are yet we laud there team play. Maybe we need someone like young in the team. just relax the shackles a. bit.
We need to play Martial through the middle, Harera. as the link between midfield and attack. I would be happy with Mata right. or Lingard. Let's be solid. but when we attack, go at pace and in groups.
I think a pacy left CD would give the holding midfielder and full backs a bit more confidence to push forward.

4.) 29 Nov 2015 09:00:38
We were dire as AJH says, Ulloa should have scored that easy chance as well. Just lucky it didn't fall to Vardy.

I'm not surprised anymore that is the worrying thing. Barely excited about a game, although 5 mins before kick off I still have that microscopic hope that it's all going to click and all this painful watching is part of some bigger plan. It simply isn't - Unlike Pandroa, LVG's Box doesn't seem to contain Hope.

{Ed025's Note - love that pandora bit beast.. :)

once aguero silva kompany are up and running city will walk this league.

6.) 29 Nov 2015 11:09:55
That's if they ever get up and running. Not having much luck is aguero.

7.) 29 Nov 2015 11:50:45
neither is silva and kompany but city are still top with out them .
they will come back tho.

I have to say, for the first time in a while, last night I started losing faith in LVG. It looks as though some of the players have too judging by their lacklustre performance last night. We looked lost at times and looked as though they simply didn't know how or didn't want to attack. I was so bored watching it, and despite about three chances that, at least one of which we should have scored (Lingards), we just had no rhythm or attacking impetus. I have read the rumours as well in the press today about a player being stifled by LVGs tactics, and despite whether it is true or not, it is plain to see.

However on to the positives, Lingard looked good and in the first half Martial did quite well. Rooney actually played quite well too in my opinion, and was one of Uniteds few standout players, along with Blind who I though played well, and Darmian showed glimpses of what he is capable of. I don't think a manager overhaul is necessary yet, however if we lose or draw at Wolfsburg I think that could well spell the end for LVG. Question is though who would you replace him with? Its a big ask for Ryan Giggs, so Ancelotti?

Today is the 41st Birthday of, in my opinion, the best United player and best midfielder of all time.
Even at 41, judging by the way he played in the charity match on Saturday, he would still walk into this team, and probably be our best player.
Happy Birthday Paul Scholes.

Well said a true great . Not to sure about his latest comment's though 😆😆.

2.) 16 Nov 2015 16:47:01
Yeah, his comments are a bit too negative, but as LVG said he's probably getting paid to say these things, we all know how the press love to stir things up with constant United stories.

3.) 16 Nov 2015 18:25:09
Great player.

4.) 16 Nov 2015 21:43:08
Great player but he should have continued as a mute after retirement.

5.) 16 Nov 2015 17:35:42
He is paid to provide his opinion, I have heard him praise performances as well. I find his assessments to generally be fair, maybe not what you would expect a club legend to say but as far as I know the club are not paying him to lie or keep stum!

What he says is pretty much what most people on here say whichever side of the divide they stand. We are boring, we are slow, it isn't exciting to watch or to be a part of if you are a player of Scholes ability. The difference is some people believe the manager is working this out and its a necessary stage of development, others believe the manager is past his sell by date and doesn't have a clear practical plan.

Has Scholes said where he stand on this? I don't think so, he has just said what 99% of people can see with their own eyes and assesses each performance as it comes rather than predicted the long term future.

I agree with Ed002, I have said many times we need to get to grips with the fact we no longer have any right to demand success. There are many of other good teams in our league now with better players and better managers. I have the firm belief that we will get back to the top eventually but we have to be patient. Having said that whether LVG is the right man for the job is another issue entirely.

Cannot stand the guy, or his football. Used to dread Utd vs Chelsea, purely because his tactics were always the same, defend and counter. His style of football would be far duller than LVG's.

Prodigal, Schweinsteiger is also very immobile, but the difference is that Carricks positional awareness far outweighs his. Carricks the best passer of the ball we have got, and is also the best at shielding the back four. I agree his tempo has been slowing down, but so was Scholes towards the end of his career, but he was still able to come back and help us win the league. I think we would be stupid to get rid of Carrick, who else could we bring in to replace him? Intelligent players like him are few and far between these days.

Carrick is still top class imo, if he is still able to perform at the top level there is no way we should sell him.

Sorry Ed, this is one I just cannot get on board with. Smalling is maturing into one of the best defenders in the league. Cleverly and Welbeck were constantly criticized, despite having a few good games occasionally. They also played in far fewer games consistently than Smalling has. He was a solid defender last year, and has been outstanding at the start of this season, arguably our best player, you could never have said that about Welbeck or Cleverly. I agree the standard of English players is declining, but to say Smalling is backup at best is pure nonsense.

Jase

{Ed007's Note - That's just babbling twaddle, you obviously didn't see the posters on here bigging up Cleverley and Welbeck season after season which is what I said. Do you really think it's a good thing that Smalling is arguably you're best player? I'd say it just shows again how far behind the current top clubs Utd are and how garbage they've actually been lately, I can't even remember the last Utd domestic game I enjoyed watching.
Would Smalling be playing for any of the other 3 of the top 4 in England last season, he wouldn't get in the Spurs or Southampton teams either and the Scousers probably see him as a bit of a diddy anyway, would he have been seen as a potential replacement to Ramos or Hummells if they had left their clubs?
As I said, we'll see where Smalling is in two years time (I'll say Everton or Aston Villa), hopefully by that time Utd have a manager who knows what he's doing.}

Been saying this since I watched the Arsenal vs Bayern games, it was exactly the same style, yet we've got everyone thinking Pep is some tactical genius compared to LVG, when the paying style is almost identical.

I don't think they have lost the players Red Man, I think the players have lost themselves. Some of them just look bereft of confidence. Its hard to watch them, as I know how good some of them are. I think he will go however, although I think this is akin to the Mourinho sacking, and the players should take the majority of the blame, they just seem unenthusiastic about playing for United, and if I was in charge I would dock each of them a months wages for the last two performances.

I think he does, we will hammer them at home. Even though he put a team out that should be winning games, apart from perhaps one or two players, our in form striker is out, we have virtually no defenders fit, and also the players should take the blame for that performance, there is absolutely no way we should have lost that game and yes it was a disgrace, but not all on Van Gaals head.
