Where is this confirmed?
He had surgery on his ankle ligament injury 6 weeks ago tomorrow (Thursday, July 17th), and was rumoured to be out 10-12 weeks.
So that has him returning at some point in October - depending on how quickly he rehabilitates.
Can't see it - Barca are already looking for 2 CBs and potentially a new RB if Dani Alves leaves. I can't see them looking for a new LB on top of all that.

Surely Mata comes on in either scenario, no? I suppose that would be more of a post for the 'Teams' page.
Regardless though, for 'Banter' sake:
I think if Mata ISN'T on the team-sheet next Saturday, then we'll all get a better idea of how LVG sees Mata fitting in (or not. )
Can't see RM selling Khedira now that Xabi Alonso is supposedly on his way to BM, would leave them with just 3 CM players (unless they get Vidal.?)
I believe they are officially 'unveiling' Di Maria tomorrow so will likely be done then.
But who knows, maybe they're waiting on Vidal, Di Maria to take #9?
Sure Barkley is a talent, but where exactly do you see him fitting into our starting XI?
We already have 3 players who can play the 10 in Mata, Rooney and Kagawa. then in the 8 we have Herrera and potentially Vidal so despite him being a talent, I see no reason why we would be looking to buy atm.
Not sure I agree.
If we sign Hummels+De Vrij and have only 2 of Evans/Jones/Smalling, we'd be one big injury to Hummels or De Vrij away from being left with 1 established CB. Also doesn't leave LVG many options if he wanted to play 3 CB at the back on occasion.
