Just found a piece of paper outside Old Trafford in a bin bag (was looking for dinner) and seen that Jose wrote a note to his dog saying he was close to signing Pogba. Truth lads, 100%.

1.) 01 Aug 2016 19:59:44
You cannot beat bin food, best food in the world.

2.) 01 Aug 2016 20:40:38
Especially after a few pints.

3.) 02 Aug 2016 08:01:51
Now this is a genuine rumour I was waiting this whole transfer window. I don't believe anyone would disagree with it.

PS- These days at least you find something in the bin. I remember 3-4 years back when Anderson was still around, I always left disappointed.

4.) 04 Aug 2016 23:16:49
Why is it not an Olympic event
"And the Bindipping Gold goes to Mpez"😆😆.

04 Jun 2015 22:59:31
Rumours tonight of De Gea for Benzema, or Benzema for €40m. I'd happily do either of those two deals, would love to see Benzema at the club, and think he'd excel. Great number 9, can poach, head, and more importantly for ourselves, make his own goals.

{Ed025's Note - im a massive fan of his Mpez..

1.) 04 Jun 2015 23:50:52
This is actually one rumour I fully expect us to complete. Anything under 40 million, in today's world of inflated prices, is a bargain for a guy who is still only 27.

2.) 04 Jun 2015 23:59:15
Benzema or Higuain? Which suits United more do you think?

3.) 05 Jun 2015 00:51:25
Simon 23 is old in football terms mate

4.) 05 Jun 2015 04:27:09
Benzema by far, ODavis. Our team at the minutes problem, is that we cannot create enough chances for our forwards, which IMO is why Falcao had a dreadful season. Higuain is more along the lines of Falcao's style, whilst Benzema has everything.

5.) 05 Jun 2015 06:24:48
Jmb this is a recent trend.
Turn the clock back a few years, 26-27 was the age when players usually started to peak

6.) 05 Jun 2015 08:44:53
Roger Milla anyone? Legend!

7.) 05 Jun 2015 09:30:58
Dip - I was only joking mate. I was just having a wise crack about what someone posted a few days ago.

8.) 05 Jun 2015 10:23:49
He is the definition of being a complete number 9. A potentially awesome signing and would be the best striker in the League over both Aguero and Diego Costa. May also link up well with Di Maria.

9.) 05 Jun 2015 11:15:02
Would love us to sign Benzema but never better than Aguero

10.) 05 Jun 2015 11:25:50
Benzema would be a huge signing. The guy is a tank. Way better than Higuain Fingers crossed

11.) 05 Jun 2015 12:25:38
A fantastic signing IMO. I've said it before either Benzema or Lewandowski would be perfect for us. Both have all the attributes required and can provide something special at any given moment. If we are to lose Big Dave it would be an ideal transfer to receive Big Ben in return lol

12.) 05 Jun 2015 15:13:40
Benzema also fits the model of play at United and the PL. totally agree but wrestling him away will be a tough challenge!!

13.) 09 Jun 2015 19:09:27
I agree Benzema or Lewandowski would both suit us perfectly, and if . However, I do worry that Chelsea will snap up Falcao and he will bag a ton of goals in a team that creates lots of chances. Costa and Falcao are very similar, both have great positioning and finishing, as well great heading abilities, but rely on others to create chances for them, so I reckon Falcao would be incredibly dangerous in that Chelsea team. IF we signed Benzema, I assume that would be the end of the road for Van Persie?

24 Apr 2015 20:48:38
002, do you have any info on the news reported by Sky Sports Germany that Ilkay Gundogan to United has been agreed?

{Ed002's Note - It hasn't at this time.}

1.) 25 Apr 2015 09:51:24
Fantastic signing if it happens

31 Mar 2015 13:30:38
002, or any of the ed's who may know, bit of a lesser known player, but is there any interest from anywhere in the lad Omar Abdulrahman of Al Ain in UAE? Fella seems to be causing a bit of a stir.

{Ed002's Note - Not recently. Abdulrahman has been courted by Sporting Lisbon and Manchester City, spending time with both during the summer of 2013, Ajax, Lyon and Hamburg (and probably others) also expressed interest in the player last summer.}

1.) 31 Mar 2015 16:09:50
Is there any expectation that he'll be on the move any time soon?

11 Dec 2014 06:22:02
002, you mentioned the possibility of Bale being moved on (if they can do so), so may I ask where may lie interest in GB? Would a return to the premier league be most likely? Would we be interested? Would we be capable of getting him?

Cheers in advance!

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any interest in him at the price they would ask.}

Best of luck to all the Ed's today, i'm sure you'll be in overdrive all day. Wouldn't want to walk 10 foot in your shoes today, never mind a mile!

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate.}

Genuine question, if Martial hadn't scored against Liverpool on his debut in the manner that he did (especially with the commentary bringing the hairs on the back of your neck to a stand) would we all as United fans be in adoration with him the way we are?

Let's be realistic, outside of his first season he has been pretty average for a player who is at one of the top clubs in the world, and if that is down to him losing his shirt number (for an equally as illustrious number) then he really needs to give his head a screw on.

If he was so well thought of in the football world as he is by Martial FC United fans, there would be a whole host of clubs throwing money at us.

Alas, here we are. Overrated.

1.) 02 Aug 2018 11:42:47
I don't think he is overrated. He has immense talent. But attitude seems to be a problem. He may also need a father figure kinda coach to groom him. Just my opinion though.

2.) 02 Aug 2018 11:49:18
So it's down to him losing his shirt number now.

3.) 02 Aug 2018 11:56:17
I’d agree with mbd he is very very talented and that’s why we as fans are frustrated. He is the first player we have had since Ronaldo (perhaps Nani) who gets the fans off their seats when he has the ball at his feet. He has the ability to go past players like they are not there and create something out of nothing. Unfortunately it seems he has a bit of an attitude problem and therefore needs to be handled in a different way than say the likes of Lukaku who thrives off criticism and it spurs him on the be better.

This is where Jose imo needs to adjust. I’m all for challenging the players and looking for a response. I love the idea of players running through a brick wall for their manager. But not everybody is like that. Some need an arm round the shoulder. That is why Fergie was the best. His longevity attributes to moving with the times and employing the best coaches, whilst knowing that Nani or Anderson needed an arm round the shoulder, whereas he could challenge Rooney or Rio to be the best they can be. I digress.

Going back to martial, his attitude does seem to be questionable and he will Waste his huge potential if he doesn’t fix up. If he had jesse or rashford’s attitude we would be seeing a player tearing the league apart. I don’t think it’s a case of Jose not rating him, he just isn’t able to get a response out of him that he wants. Both parties are to blame. And so parting ways may be the best option. But if martial thinks he will walk into Juve, Chelsea or spurs’ side he must realised that he will be expected to work just as hard to fight for his place. Personally I hope he stays and has a great season because he has all the talent in the world to do so.

4.) 02 Aug 2018 12:02:23
I wonder what changed after his first season?

5.) 02 Aug 2018 12:26:44
Jred, it’s well known that when Jose gave Ibrahimovic the number 9 shirt, Martial lost his head. No surprise that it’s since then he’s been a gurny wee gobsh*te.

6.) 02 Aug 2018 12:33:20
Martial is an excellent player and was our player of the season up until Sanchez was signed. Sanchez came in and he was shunted out of the team. It must have severely dented his confidence. Young players need to be man managed carefully and I feel Mourinho's management of younger players is absolutely awful. He needs to be more flexible with players. The same approach will not work with all players. This was Ferguson's biggest strength in how he could nurture the younger boys and help them flourish.

7.) 02 Aug 2018 13:05:04
Would lose no sleep it Martial was sold, not done it for us, not cz of Jose, not cz of LVG but because of his attitude on and off the pitch.

8.) 02 Aug 2018 15:05:12
I though he played his best football last season was in good form just before we bought Sanchez.

9.) 02 Aug 2018 15:26:02
Wasn't he involved in more goals per minute than any other player at the club last season? There or there abouts.

I don't think he's overrated, he's played in a system that does not suit his style at all. The slow and laborious football does not play to his strengths.

If he plays in a more attacking team I can see him scoring more goals, becoming more confident and killing teams as he gets a few years older.

I hope that's with United and not another club.

01 Aug 2018 19:45:15
TO any of the Ed's whom may have knowledge of the subject. With todays media reports regarding the potential of us fining Anthony Martial 2 weeks wages for 2 weeks missed, due to the attendance of his childs birth.

Being a UK based company, with every male legally allowed 2 weeks maternity, surely it's legally impossible for us to fine him?

{Ed002's Note - I have not heard of any such stories.}

1.) 01 Aug 2018 19:53:03
Yeah, a load of cobblers.

2.) 01 Aug 2018 20:56:08
99.9% of storires are just click bait. FAKE NEWS all around us.

We all read them but know most of them are nonsense.
As a general rule of thumb mpez you are broadly correct.
There is a legal obligation to give Paternity leave as long as it has been applied for in writing and agreed. The dates agreed can be subject to change due to any extraordinary circumstance.
However you cants just go awol ( i'm not suggesting martial has done) . In the normal course of events your direct report (or / and) the HR manager would be aware of leave or extended leave asked for or granted.

Im quite sure martial contacted whoever he needed to and someone was aware within the club of his whereabouts.

I think there is probably a bit of posturing going on and both player and manager trying to force a sale.

Who really wants him? And at what price?
Ed002 said in the sharkpod that the club have avoided using players in part exchange and that we may have to re-think that strategy.
Do any of the clubs interested in martial have players we want?
Very little time left as i'm sure those deals have increased complexity.
Is it too late for a dramatic kiss and make up and for martial to lead us to the title?
Im not sure how this one will end up.
I don't suppose spurs would pay 20m plus toby 😤.

3.) 01 Aug 2018 23:30:59
Fake news that people jumped all over .
Really hope the lad reaches his potential at United.

Can understand the supports who are so desperate to get shot of him .
But I suppose it helps for the I told you so .

Young lad only 22 who many at the club think has the potential to be one of the best in the world .
Then read some of the comments below .
He could be what KDB was to Chelsea.

4.) 02 Aug 2018 00:07:44
He could be Jred. But the club have given Jose a long contract, and he doesn’t rate the lad. If we start the season with Pogba and Martial in the squad, they won’t be happy, Jose won’t be happy, and this could have a knock on effect with the squad. There’s no guarantee that they’ll want to stay either if Jose leaves.

5.) 02 Aug 2018 00:16:36
So obviously Martial's partner had complications during childbirth that's why he couldn't come back early.

6.) 02 Aug 2018 06:02:17
Yes lots of click bait people swallow. Kovecic turning united down stories, fifa wc best 11's it doesn't matter what it is people still get sucked in or as you say jump all over it.
Half it is because they often just make up what they think some folk want to read.

7.) 02 Aug 2018 09:02:49
Ken lol I asked a question about kovecic, I also thought he was mentioned on the sharkpod.

The abuse from the usally suspect tho to jump all over a United player yesterday .

8.) 02 Aug 2018 09:25:25
jred, i like the lad and yes he is young but it is time for him to show it.

13 Mar 2018 22:00:43
I've never felt as embarrassed by anything as being a Manchester United fan has made me tonight. Incensed is an understatement.

1.) 14 Mar 2018 11:42:00
i don't know mate. that 6-1 drubbing by city and the david moyes press-conference where he said some crap was quite embarrassing too.

06 Nov 2017 12:03:34
To be frank the slating of Lukaku is annoying as hell, both from fans and pundits. As a striker myself, I know how aggravated he must be with the way we play.

We all know Romelu Lukaku isn't a hold up striker, nor is he an Aubameyang-esque in behind type striker. He's a jack of all trades, but a master of none in reality.

However, when critcised for "going missing in big games", it's genuinely mind boggling as to how we set up to play to almost get nothing from him.

If we plan on lumping it up to him to head it, we must have wingers running in behind, or another striker playing off him. which we never f**cking do. Then we switch it up, and lump it 30 yards ahead of him to chase against 2/ 3 centre backs, with no body else putting similar pressure on the open spaces.

It's almost as if our team is set up to lump it, then if we retain the ball the players think "oh f*ck Rom actually got to that one, best try and get up there to help", in which time the opposition have also got back.

Our style of play is ridiculous. Look at the players we have, top coaches would love to work with a lot of them, and would have them playing great, attacking football against any opposition.

One thing about Mourinho is that he is a manager, but by all means he isn't a coach. He knows how to field a team of good players, but that's where he stops. He doesn't really have any upstandintg tactical implementation other than 10 behind the ball and run. He puts his team out and let's them do the work, but putting 11 different pegs in 11 square holes just doesn't do much good.

Our team currently seriously lacks in personality, and I hate to blow his trumpet too much, but Pogba seriously drags us through in the pizzazz his play style brings. We would be truly woeful without his influence in the side.

Mourinho's inconsistency shows he isn't the right man for the job, but yet his ego just keeps him coming back. The man talks the talk, but he kinda just stumbles the walk, yet somehow gets there. I've been naive in thinking Mourinho would be the right one, hell any doubts I had were overshadowed immediately by the trophies we won last season.

I miss Manchester United, and everything this club has become is a facade of what and who we are. So, i'll ask the question. Is being successful all that good, when you aren't having fun in doing so?

1.) 06 Nov 2017 13:01:37
Totally agree Mpez - We could have Messi, Ronaldo or whoever up top it would be similar, been saying it since RVP, Falcao etc all flopped with this attack with 3 men maximum philosophy - even Ibra didn't excel as well as he is capable of.

Problem on top for Lukaku is that he is a bit of a donkey on the ball to be fair, so it was a ridiculous signing considering the way Jose wants us to play. With proper wingers and a creative midfielder that gets the ball in space he would be a revelation and great value for money, but as it is he just compounds the problem because he struggles to control a ball and isn't sure where he should be half the time (nor would I be because it's helter skelter behind him) . I feel sorry for Lukaku, bit similar in some ways to when Liverpool signed Carroll, totally the wrong striker for the way they wanted to play.

Great points on Jose - the mojo he had has gone and it's all far too predictable. We lack personality throughout the team, almost everyone seems to be going through the motions.

2.) 06 Nov 2017 13:16:24
When Lukaku was scoring he was brilliant and it was a joke that we re-signed Zlatan, now he's had a bit of a bad patch he is a ridiculous signing.

3.) 06 Nov 2017 13:35:12
No one has scored more goals from open play in the league this season than lukaku .
We are second in the league, poor performance yesterday beat spurs last Sunday.
Chelsea excellent yesterday awful against Roma on Wednesday.

4.) 06 Nov 2017 16:57:47
I think what we have got with Lukaku is exactly what we thought. Quality striker who will score a shed full of goals but may go missing against the big boys. Also he is someone who needs service.
All of which we have seen.
With Pogba back I think he will get back on track, I also hope this is the case for Mikki too.

5.) 06 Nov 2017 17:18:42
Lukaku had such bad service and only thing coming his way was a high ball with 2 or sometimes 3 defenders around him and rash seemed so far away to provide him an outlet. He is not a donkey and its mick's job to orchestrate play and provide him with better service but at the moment he is quite poor. Can't even remember a single telling pass from mick to lusaka yesterday as he was losing the ball or watching fabregas run past him.

6.) 07 Nov 2017 00:44:54
Most of the centre of the pitch where mimi should b was empty for a good portion of the game. i'm a fan of miki but he's costing us points now.

Joel Pereira will be going out on loan. He’s very highly thought of within the club, and they know he now needs game time to progress.

I think I seen somewhere, Romero is taking the 12/ 13 shirt.

Am I right in saying it was Monchi we were after, 002? Also, how is it possible a club the size of United have gone so long without appointing a DOF?

{Ed002's Note - No, and many clubs don't have or need a DoF - don't see this as a failing.}

It’s crazy the way some of you are talking re Koulibaly. He’s an absolute monster, he’s quicker than most, stronger than most, taller than most and bloody well better than most.

You all mention “Ah i’d take Milenkovic over him” when damn well you never would have heard of Milenkovic, never mind even considered him, if it hadn’t been for Ed002 mentioning him as a possibility.

It’s laughable.

Will be so so disappointed if we even considered bringing him back. No piint whatsoever, onwards and upwards with what we have and what we should be investing in.
