Shaw and Young both fit for the U23's on Monday.

Really hope they both come through an hour or so and shaw really kicks on this season.

he would be a massive plus if he can get back to top form.

OxfordDEVIL

1.) 18 Aug 2017 14:19:27
Also no fourth signing by the sounds of it.

2.) 18 Aug 2017 14:33:43
Great news 2 more to the squad 😁.

3.) 18 Aug 2017 18:34:36
There's rumours both will be sold if decent offers come in and we can buy a replacement in time. Rushing them back before transfer window shuts is quite suspicious. Then again there's also rumours Shaw will sign a new deal. We'll see.

4.) 18 Aug 2017 21:38:28
Have a feeling everything might have clicked in shaws head. if he gets his head down and works hard he can still be the real deal. He is still a young player and I think mourinho could be the man to make him realise what he needs to do. it worked with miki hopefully it works with shaw.

5.) 19 Aug 2017 09:44:14
Apparently Shaw is on the verge of signing a new contract. Any Eds shed any light on this?

10 Aug 2017 16:14:10
TFM loan confirmed.

All the very best to the lad.

Lets hope he plays week in, week out and gets some valuable experience.

Looks like he will play right side of back 3.

OxfordDEVIL

1.) 10 Aug 2017 16:18:57
Personally hope he's not going there to play that role, valuable premier league experience will do him the world of good but ideally you want him occupying a position where he could play for us in the future.

2.) 10 Aug 2017 17:25:43
1980, I don't think we're in a position to tell the loan club where he should be played. Palace are overstocked in defensive positions so if TFM manages to make any position his own then fair play to him. I hope he does nail down a position, whatever it be, and gain valuable PL minutes.

3.) 10 Aug 2017 17:41:24
Maybe a CM partnership with our own starlet Loftus-Cheek? :-) TFM being the more defensive one, while RLC is his more refined attacking partner.

4.) 10 Aug 2017 19:12:17
Since his debut TFM has always looked good in CB position. At right back he makes mistakes, not suited for that position. If he plays for Palace at CB and shines then he can be a long term asset for United.

5.) 10 Aug 2017 23:16:41
Bang on sailor.

6.) 11 Aug 2017 16:22:16
Think it's a bit harsh to dismiss any future at right back. He's young and very good bringing the ball forward. Let's not forget the performance he put in against spurs last year. As soon as he went off, spurs banged 3 goals against us.

FA CONFIRMS SMALLING INJURY
The Football Association announced at 13:00 GMT today (Friday) that Chris Smalling has returned to United from the England camp due to injury. The Reds centre-back follows his club colleague Phil Jones in having his international stint cut short and he'll be replaced in the squad by Middlesbrough's Ben Gibson.

So Smalling Injures Jones and then gets himself injured. GREAT

Back to a flat back 4 then with Rojo and Bailey.

1.) 24 Mar 2017 18:10:49
Thats typical! Funnily enough though a CB partnership of Rojo and Bailly is something I've wanted to see for a while, let's hope they stay fit and do well.

2.) 24 Mar 2017 18:23:39
I agree HoneyBadger, also means the defence can push further up, especially if Shaw plays at lb as well.

3.) 24 Mar 2017 19:47:42
They could always go for a back 3 and drop Carrick in between Bailly and Rome.

4.) 24 Mar 2017 22:08:01
Why has everyone forgot about blind he can play as part of a 3 he's brilliant on the ball be the spare central one!

5.) 24 Mar 2017 22:37:03
Statezz blind would make the ideal sweeper behind bailly and rojo. He can pass short or long and can carry the ball out comfortably. It could also see Shaw come in which all of us would like to see.

Ed02. I know that prior to the January transfer window you mentioned that we were interested in Jose Gimenez. Do you happen to know if there has been any movement on a potential deal.

Many thanks as always.

OxfordDEVIL

{Ed002's Note - He was first choice but he won't be moving to MU - everyone has moved on.}

1.) 23 Mar 2017 17:03:56
Hi ed02.

many thanks for your update as always.

I remember you saying that he was first choice and there are fresh reports today so just wondered. Guess it is old news being recyled.

have a good evening.

2.) 23 Mar 2017 20:57:28
Hi Ed002,

Thanks for above info. Are United still looking for a defender and, if so, is Lindelof still the preferred choice for the summer? Many thanks as always!

{Ed002's Note - Not now.}

3.) 24 Mar 2017 07:31:58
Thanks Ed! Can't wait for the next Sharkopod to find out who the new targets are!

31 Jan 2017 14:00:53
ed002. How are you today? I know that in your sharkopod you mentioned our interest in Nelson Semedo and that any deal would more than likely be in the summer. There are some reports today suggesting that a deal for the summer has now been agreed. Do you happen to know if there has been any talks with Benfica regarding Nelson Semedo and if anything in principle has been agreed.
many thanks

OxfordDEVIL

{Ed002's Note - Benfica has discussed Semedo with both Manchester United and Chelsea and a move in the summer remains on the cards - but neither has an agreement in place right now OD.}

1.) 31 Jan 2017 14:24:53
hi Ed002. Many thanks for getting back to me. We will have to see what happens in the summer then. Have a good day

{Ed002's Note - Enjoy, have a great day.}

18 Nov 2017 16:56:08
Very attacking lineup today and no miki in the squad.

Lets see how they play.

Hoping we destroy them.

OxfordDEVIL

1.) 18 Nov 2017 17:47:59
A win will do. We won't destroy them.

2.) 18 Nov 2017 19:36:58
We pretty much did.

3.) 18 Nov 2017 22:57:24
Jose got it right today. Good win.

16 Nov 2017 13:32:03
Marcos Rojo played a half for the U23 so hopefully we will see him back soon.

OxfordDEVIL

26 Sep 2017 14:45:06
good afternoon chaps.

so NO, Pogba, fellaini, carrick or Jones tomorrow.

who do you think gets the nod to partner Baily and is it a straight forward decision to bring in herrera?

OxfordDEVIL

1.) 26 Sep 2017 15:08:05
Anyone saw the tackle from long that injured fellaini? Imagine if fellaini had made such a tackle.

2.) 26 Sep 2017 15:56:09
Lindelof or smalling. Herrera, matic and miki in midfield.

3.) 26 Sep 2017 18:36:37
i am wondering whether we might see lindelof play in a midfield position.

4.) 26 Sep 2017 19:09:54
IM7, I'd be amazed if we see that, he may start at CB or FB, Jose will stay slid on the middle and it will be interesting to see how attack minded he is up front. We have enough options.

5.) 26 Sep 2017 19:11:09
I doubt that im7.

6.) 26 Sep 2017 23:33:02
Why would that ever happen?

7.) 27 Sep 2017 13:39:52
What are the chances of calling back pereira?

8.) 27 Sep 2017 14:04:14
Jbennett, please tell me you are being sarcastic, we have more than enough options before we panic.

Shappy.

A substitute player who has not been fielded is entitled to play for another club competing in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League in the course of the same season.

Has he played for Arsenal in europe this season. I didn't think so which means he would be able to play for us if we did sign him.

One reporter started a story about him not arriving with the other players and it escalated from there. A New Ed has joined the ranks and he posted a piece about how stories are made up for click bate interesting read.

ed02 - many thanks for your update. Would the plan consist of keeping JM for the 5 years as well as him leaving during this period.

OxfordDEVIL

{Ed002's Note - There is little point in going in to detail at this time.}

ed02 - as you have mentioned JM does not really want to be here, but he is.

Do you happen to know if the club have a 5 year plan still in place, even if that is extending JM's contract.

Allegri would have been a great choice and still would be but if that boat has now sailed then so be it.

Also if you don't mind what transfers were in place which had to be scrapped when VG got the boot?

thanks.

OxfordDEVIL

{Ed002's Note - The club has a five year plan, as they are responsible to the finincially to maintain one. It covers any planned major changes and the finances with predicted income, including whether the clubs plans for CL every season or not, etc..}
