Ed02 - do you happen to know if we are still in dialogue with anyone regarding the sales of Darmian and Rojo?

Many thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Inter remain keen on Darmian and Barnett spoke with Comolli about Rojo.}

1.) 11 Aug 2018 19:09:09
That’s funny, because I need to speak to Rojo about his barnet.

2.) 11 Aug 2018 23:38:18
So we may still see Darmian go to Italy and Rojo to Turkey before the window closes.

Thanks as always for the info ed02.

{Ed002's Note - Stuff will happen.}

3.) 12 Aug 2018 11:05:14
Fingers crossed.

4.) 12 Aug 2018 12:42:33
That is great - thanks for the info ed. I wish them all the best but neither have been able to progress to the level required whilst here.

This will mean more room for movement in the transfer windows to come.

5.) 12 Aug 2018 20:59:59
Well with the Italian window closing this Friday the 17th we will soon know about Darmian.

If he does go i guess we will see Young at RB until either Valencia or Dalot are fit.

6.) 12 Aug 2018 22:18:33
Makes sense. Surprised we let TFM go out but may mean Jose will give Shaw a run out for a few games.

7.) 14 Aug 2018 04:50:05
I agree about TFM but he needs games and once Valencia and Depot are fit we have 4 for 2 and he needs games so this is best for him and us long term.

We all keep talking about the top 4 and how important CL football is, but it is looking possible that we may need to finish 3rd at this rate.

1.) 18 Apr 2019 22:12:49
How does that work if an English team wins Europa and champions league, 1 of the winners being outside top 4 and we finish fourth?

{Ed002's Note - Then a fifth side enters. If both win and neither are in the top four then fourth drops out - but it is impossible for that to happen this year.}

2.) 18 Apr 2019 22:21:41
Only if spurs win cl and aren't in top 4. Europa winners are guaranteed a spot from day 1. champs league winners are expected to qualify by league position. I'd like ajax to win champions League.

3.) 18 Apr 2019 22:30:30
Europa League guarantees a spot to the winner only change if a non top 4 wins is that 3rd then has to qualify. It's only if the champions League is won by a non top 4 that 4th doesn't get champions League football but again 3rd would have to go through qualifiying. So basically forget the Europa league it's all about champions league as the winners are expected to qualify by league position.

This is how I believed it to be or have they changed this now to a maximum of 5 from any one league ed?

{Ed002's Note - 5 is the maximum for England.}

4.) 19 Apr 2019 06:55:58
Cheers ed.

5.) 19 Apr 2019 08:17:35
ED02 - why is it impossible for that to happen this year? Spurs could potentially win the CL and drop out of the top 4 and Chelsea the EL and also finish outside the top 4.

{Ed002's Note - Sorry, yes it is possible still.}

6.) 19 Apr 2019 11:24:52
Bloody hell i thought the situation was dire already. I know one is supposed to back the English teams in Europe, but sod that for a laugh.

7.) 19 Apr 2019 11:39:35
What a terrible state of affairs, hoping certain teams wins and lose and not qualify so we can have a modicum of success. Big work in the summer, I agree on a post above about Ole wanting to change how we play, I feel Ole wants to be a pressing, high energy team with counter attack, as we’ve gone thru change after change we need to have patience now and Ed needs to let the football men make the football decisions, including transfers.

13 Apr 2019 19:37:59
I know ED02 has mentioned that he is not aware of any approach to WHU about Rice from us but I think he would be a great signing. He was everywhere for WH today.
Covering the back 4 and attacking and looked a yard faster than some of our players at times. If Ole is really looking for a strong core of young English players than surely Rice should be one of the names added to our summer plans.

1.) 13 Apr 2019 20:03:07
Rice and mctom? I don't think we need both.

2.) 13 Apr 2019 21:39:47
I agree with that jred.

3.) 14 Apr 2019 01:24:57
Rice and Jones in the first team, we wouldn't sell many team calendars.

Agree with these comments, mctomm is getting better and better. Rice may have a higher ceiling, but the two would be pretty limiting playing together.

28 Jan 2019 19:25:07
Well Well Well

Chelsea Away. Here we go again.

BIg Games coming thick and fast.

Come on lads.

1.) 28 Jan 2019 19:59:22
Just adds to the monster month ahead of us. Bring it on.

07 Jan 2019 21:56:47
So with that FA cup draw we now play 8 games in FEB/ March as follows.

2 x PSG
2 x Arsenal
1 x Liverpool
1 x City

Palace and Southampton.

MASSIVE 8 games there. LOOKING FORWARD to seeing how we get on. Bring it on.

1.) 07 Jan 2019 22:07:22

2.) 07 Jan 2019 22:38:59
8 wins on current form. Obviously. Lol.

3.) 07 Jan 2019 23:18:18
Fa cup game is in January, unless you are expecting us to draw and get a replay?

4.) 08 Jan 2019 06:55:51
Well that's a tough run of fixtures we will know a lot more about where our manager and our squad are after these.

But I must say I'm very much looking forward to it 😁.

5.) 08 Jan 2019 08:10:15
I agree with Shappy.

6.) 08 Jan 2019 12:24:59
Always confident playing Arsenal, they've got no bite in them.

07 Jan 2019 21:52:42
SO Arsenal next up in the FA Cup.

Nice write up ed - as you say it is another string to the bow and something else that the opposition have to take into consideration.

The more options and variations in play that we can have the better.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, it is something Mourinho wanted too, but because he wanted to sit deep, however it is a useful weapon to have in all types of teams. City have Ederson do a similar thing, more than the centre backs.}

Easy there Mort - we are not going to win much with just those 3 players. We need more :)

Henderson, Tuanzebe, Garner, Gomes and Greenwood. English CORE HAHA

To be honest if you are looking for 5 players that may be in the starting lineup:

DDG if he signs or Romero

That is only 4 but that could arguably be the only 4. We are looking at a RB, CB, CM AM (another if Pogba leaves) and a RW/ Forward and potentially a LW if Sanchez leaves.

Dalot, McTominay, Fred, Lingard will all be around and useful squad players unless they improve.

I know Ken. Nearly £42m in wages and the only player in that list that comes close to being a starter is Herrera on 75k a week. We really do need to shift all those players on.

Ken - Have to agree with your numbers there. ED02 has indicated that we want 5 and if Pogba and Sanchez leave this will increase to 7.

These are BIG Numbers and would leave OLE needing a FULL pre-season with them all to get his style across.

Looking at the names ED02 has said we are interested in then we could be looking at a 1st team containing, Wan-Bissaka, Milinkovic, Rice, Fernandes and Sancho if we can get them all as ED02 some will be harder than others. Then if Pogba leaves possibly Saul too. that's a new right side, and a complete new midfield. On paper it looks mental but it is what is required at this stage in our history. The squad is in such a mis-match state that MAJOR work is required.

Veratti is the best at this but can't see us getting him from PSG.
