Not trying to piss off any of the Eds, but I have one question.

With Costa moving back to Atleti in January, does it open the door for Griezmann to make a move as well?

And do United still have an interest in him?

Thank you.

{Ed001's Note - Griezmann only held off the move because they could not replace him, so it is possible that he may decide to move. However, I expect him to wait until summer personally, depending on how Atleti are doing at that point.}

1.) 23 Sep 2017 08:54:16
Do we have alternatives to Griezmann? Not really a fan tbh.

2.) 23 Sep 2017 09:27:27
Thanks, Ed.

Do United still have an interest in him? Do you see us making a move for him in the summer?

{Ed001's Note - I don't know off the top of my head sorry.}

Italian newspaper La Tercera reporting something related to a $55 million bid for Vidal from Man Utd. I don't know how reliable this is. Anyone read this? Or knows something about this? Eds. Any idea?

1.) Isn't that a paper from Chile?

2.) Ya a lot of papers in ireland reporting vidal and di maria done deals exciting times

3.) 11 Jul 2014 20:47:36
Apparently there is a report in the chilean newspaper. I think the deal includes Evra also.

4.) When I said Italian, I meant the language. Sorry if you got confused.

5.) I read a poorly translated version (I don't speak Spanish) and it appears that their source is the English press.

29 Jan 2014 18:45:34
Ed if you could spare a thought, the Kroos story. are United interested in him?

{Ed004's Note - Yes but if he becomes available so will other clubs}

1.) Heard that Manchester Utd have agreed a fee with
Toni Kroos, deal is still a way off. Player is happy to
leave. And his agent turned down Chelsea approach because Toni's ambition is to play for Man Utd. MASSIVE NEWS guys

2.) Really hope that he signs for united would be class with mata rooney van persie and adnan

That's some draw!

20 Jul 2018 11:10:23
One for the Eds.

Liverpool, City and Chelsea (to a certain extent) have bought in new players, Chelsea got a new manager as well. What's your take on the signings done by the top 4/ 6 till now?

What's your take on Sarri, you think Chelsea have a got a good manager?

And I know this is a repetitive question, but what's your opinion about Fred. I have never seen him play and I doubt that YouTube is the best place to understand a player, so it would great if you could lend your insights into that. Or if a player review could be made for him, Whatever works for you.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have done well and now need to get rid of players - I very much expect they have a little bit of business still to be done. Manchester City have only added Mahrez and a young defender (I don't recall his name) but are looking to potentially a significant exit or two and they are looking to put something in place that will see a very significant purchase - so work is still in hand. Chelsea have agreed to two players arriving and three leaving (who are still at the club) and are continuing talks today over a couple of others - so they also have a long way to go. is more of a mixed bag with Leno, Papaoowmowmow and Torriera good additions and then the rather starnge deal for Stephan Lichtsteiner - they have a little work to do. Spurs will certainly be looking to start the ball rolling in anger soon.}

1.) 20 Jul 2018 12:52:22
Thanks for reply Ed. If you don't mind me asking, is Hazard one of the player's that is looking to leave Chelsea this season?

And who else do you think Liverpool are targetting?

Thanks again. Any chance you can share your thoughts on Sarri, and also Fred? Your Sharkopod said something about United rushing into the deal.

{Ed002's Note - This is the Manchester United page - try the Chelsea page. Yes, Fred was rushed in to, the club should have taken their time, but it is too late now.}

2.) 20 Jul 2018 13:28:06
What do you mean by rushed in Ed002? Not the right fit or panicked? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Just forget it.}

3.) 20 Jul 2018 14:14:31

4.) 20 Jul 2018 14:33:57
Scholes, I'd imagine ed002 means that if United had of waited a bit longer they could have potentially bought a player that was "better" than Fred.

There's still a lot of business to be done. For example let's say Kroos becomes available, we're stocked up in midfield now and can't go for him.

I'm happy with the balance of the midfield though. Ed002 saying we had discussions with Spurs about Alderweireld and it didn't go anywhere fast is very worrying.

Obviously I expect us to bring in at least a few new players, but how far down the list are they going to be?

5.) 20 Jul 2018 15:11:14
Yh Mumbles, do like the midfield options myself, just seen the clock ticking down on Sky Sports, 20 days left lol, wonder how many will come in? Also, i'm hoping we do end up getting Alderweireld, Spurs' way of getting max amount for him like this? Hopefully they'll bite as it's unlikely Levy will risk losing him for a less amount next summer.

6.) 20 Jul 2018 15:43:54
From what I've read and I don't know how true it is, we're around £20 million apart in valuation. That's a lot considering how tough Levy is with negotiating a price. Also, we probably should be trying to shift a centre back on before we bring him in. We have Bailey, Lindelof, Jones, Smalling and Rojo. I'm sure Jose would part with most of them but finding a buyer might be tough.

We'd like Alderweireld in ASAP. Spurs can wait until deadline day, means nothing to them.

I know the figures being quoted could be pie in the sky but I highly doubt the United board want to spend £60 million on a 29 year old. We may have to look at alternatives.

Well, what a result. Defeated a good Chelsea side, who, I think many believed to be he favourites.

I think it was a slightly nervy start to the game, Chelsea were quick to move the ball around and were getting men forward, Hazard was trying to dictate the game and even Willian was always willing to take on a man. Morata had a great chance to put Chelsea one up and I think, had that gone it, it would have changed the mood at OT.

Sanchez could have and should have taken that chance and buried it, he didn't need to take an extra touch, I think once he took a second touch, the chance was gone. I don't know why he took the touch, confidence issues, maybe?

Moving on, I think Pogba played well today. Didn't let Kante or Drinkwater take him out of the game and was always keen on taking a man on. Him and Matic looked solid today and Mctominay added some much needed grip in the midfield. While Chelsea's passing looked quick and crisp at times, whenever United got hold of the ball, they reduced the tempo of the game and i think that went well. That mean we were looking to play the ball and not just hoof it up field and make Lukaku run for them.

Smalling sort of raised his game little and did a good job on Morata and other Chelsea attackers, which was good. Lindelof had a terrific game as well, he needs more game time and he can possibly form a good partnership with Bailly.

Martial, I think had a strange game and I think Lingard offered more movement and fluidity in play when he came on.

Lukaku's start was not the greatest, I think a couple of touch went here and there, but the strength he showed for the goal was tremendous and even the ball he played for Lingard was insane. *On a side note, why can't other players cross the ball like that for him? He'll thrive if he gets such a service. * I was hoping he'd be able to finish the galloping run he took in the second half, he just glided past the Chelsea defence as if they weren't there.

All in all, I guess Mou will be happy with a performance like this, I know I am.

1.) 26 Feb 2018 11:55:43
It’s that old cliché that strikers are better crossers because they know where they want the ball!

2.) 26 Feb 2018 12:29:12
is that true Caolan? If it was then we should have scored bucket loads with two strikers in Martial and Rashford on the wings. lol.

12 Feb 2018 14:49:20
{Ed's Note - Raghav has posted a new article entitled, Surely Manchester United are capable of playing better

1.) 12 Feb 2018 14:58:23
Thank you for posting this Ed :)

{Ed033's Note - ok, thanks for sending it in.

17 Jan 2018 09:40:24
One for the Eds. This isn't a question about how likely Sanchez is going to sign for us, but, it's more on the lines of whether United are buying the player because he is available or was he one of players that Mou wanted?

Basically, is it whimsical purchase, to satisfy the fans?

{Ed001's Note - Jose wants him and wants rid of Mickey so it is a win win situation.}

Just a question, do you think it's good business for United to sell Pogba and possibly replace him with Kroos?

By good business, I mean, will it be a helpful move for the club, in terms of getting the right players?

{Ed002's Note - I think selling Pogba would be good business but I think there are better options than Kroos.}

Ed, does this mean that Lindelof has been written off, completely?

{Ed004's Note - I wouldn't say written off. I just think it's very unlikely he will impress enough to become first choice cb at the club}

I cannot reply to what every single poster has said and I respect what each one of you has said.

So here's the thing, what I said about Rashford does not mean that I want him sold, of course, I want him to be a success at United and play for us for many many years, but on the current form that he is in and the way I see him play week in and week out, I just don't think he's learning the right things. I'm all for giving the kid every chance that he rightfully deserves, but I'm thoughtful of the fact that if he doesn't learn or change, then the club should be smart about it and not emotional.

If you think I'm being short-sighted when it comes to Rashford, then let me clarify, that I'm not. I'm not saying this 'coz I've only seen 2 or 3 matches and seen him not perform, and hence I've made up my mind. It's my observation over the course of the season and not just in the Premier League, I have watched him play in the League Cup and even FA Cup.

I think his decision making is way off, sometimes he's way too selfish. I'm in no way saying that he's a bad player, but I feel these basic things need to be addressed so that his game can develop. And there is probably nothing wrong with the kind of people he's playing with, I don't think there is any other team in the League that will be able to help him mature as a player.

Also, 12daysofhermida, I don't know. Maybe I'll give him a season or two more and if he still fails to deliver, then maybe, it might be the time to sell.

Coz Foden is managed by the GOAT, messiah, the saviour, the attacking football prodigy. you can add your own adjectives here.

You're trying to say that it's because of a bad defence that Pogba can't string two passes together or worse, can't pass the ball yards. He has underachieved massively and that has nothing to do with the price tag that he came with neither does it have to do with our (fans) expectations.

At the end of the day, he can say with his head held high that he gave us his all and played to his max, then it's certain that EPL is just not for him, because apart from the 45 mins he played against City, he hasn't really shown the quality that he possesses.

Shappy, I'm not concerned about whether Mou lasts more than this year or whether he stays on for the next 2 years. My point is not that, my point is about the press taking up something which is a normal thing and turning into a tabloid thing for eyeballs. That's why I feel it's sad.

Sad to see the press reporting it as Martial signing a new contract because he thinks he'll outlast Mou at the club / or Mou will be gone soon.

I think Mourinho set up the team brilliantly and it's the players who have let him down, again, just as they did last week.

Lukaku missed a sitter yesterday, his goal could have totally turned the game around, just like he did last week against Brighton, although last night was easier than 8 days ago.

Another player who doesn't deserve to wear the jersey anymore is Paul Pogba, his inability to play simple football is mind-numbing. He wants out, sell him. We wanted him back, he doesn't want to be here. I think it'll be fair to him and the club if he was to leave now.

I think Matic looked off yesterday, maybe because he isn't match fit, maybe Andreas should have started yesterday.

Anyway, I don't fault Mou in either of the losses, it's the players who seem to be doing a really good job of making Mourinho looking worse that what he actually is.
