I haven't posted on here for a long time but still visit the site religiously every day. I've been reading here for longer than most, (maybe Bond or Redman could back that up) back to the days of RFT and before Percy ran off to Turin to sort out a deal for Nani. I love this place but stopped actively posting around the time Ed002 took a second sabbatical because of the twice a year muppets that show up for the transfer windows (I vented my anger with them one evening) . Anyway back to the point. I have no history with anyone on here and enjoy all opinions whether I agree or not. That's life, if we all thought the same it would be a sad world. I am completely impartial is what I am saying and by not being involved see all sides of the arguments on here entirely unblinkered (is that a word) .
So with regards to the latest tiff I personally think both of you (jred and ken) should just take a break from commenting on what each other say for a while. I can see where the likes of Angel etc are coming from with yourself Jred as from the outside sometimes it does seem that you're just waiting around to jump on Ken's posts and disagree with them for the sake of it. Likewise Ken can seem to be waiting with a thinly veiled (sarcastic, or where I come from a smartarse) dig at Jred. I spent an hour and a half last night reading an argument that if you cut through the bullshit you are both after the same thing. Maybe you are both too alike.
Maybe you should take a leaf out of the Beast's book who, whether you agree with his opinions or not, takes a serious amount of unnecessary rubbish on here for having an opinion and sticking to it and fair play to him for it. Great for the site. Tony takes it for being positive. Gds has had to put up with people completely not understanding a bit of banter for years. Redman and Stevie may be the best example, both tending to rub each other up the wrong way at times but just get on with it.
Like everyone else bar the aforementioned twice yearly muppets contribute to this site being somewhere we all love to come and talk about a shared love we have for this great club. At the back of it all we just want success for United we just have differing views on how we can achieve it.
Big shout out to all the editors for the work you put in and the shite you must have to put up with. Keep it up it's massively appreciated whether it shows or not.
Not going to start individual shoutouts because I will just forget people and don't need the hassle of apologising to those I forget ( nothing personal it's just down to my penchant for copious amounts of high grade marijuana over the years but if you knew what life I'd had since the moment of conception you would excuse that and understand why I try to stay peaceful and open minded) ps Stevie, if I'm ever north of the border and we happen to meet forget the bit about the ganja if you're in work mode anyway. Make love not war boys and h***ing come on United tonight.
One love.

Good post.

RK fair points well made.

Rk16 - Nice post mate and appreciate the comments. Be good to see some more input from you, as you clearly have your head screwed on.

*cough* *cough* Supasub.
I agree. I visit but post less. Around the time (a few years ago) that players were singled out, many home grown, and the labels attached to them. Terms like deadwood and if a player wasn't a starter then they should be gone forgetting that it's a squad game with so many matches. To be fair to ed002 he gets a lot of repetitive questions that would be enough to annoy anyone and questioning their integrity when there is no need. We do tend to get the odd new poster out of no where just before transfer windows who I think purposely annoy ed002 (other club supporters imo) but to be able to filter through them must be difficult. There were others I've not seen for a while such as ngiak + his penguin? And Jono etc.

5.) 11 May 2017 13:39:04
I saw nothing, mate :)

6.) 11 May 2017 17:22:39
No worries boys. I'd be on more but I'm a bit technologically challenged. Took nearly an hour lying by the pool on hols with the missus and kids to write that post. None of us are perfect. I'll try comment a bit more Beast as I enjoy a good moan myself 😉
Stevie, you're grand mate. Only enjoy the odd trip to Amsterdam these days or a sneaky Saturday night since the kids arrived but cheers for the Arsne Wenger.
Jred/ Ken Just think we all get a bit over emotional where football is involved sometimes.
Supasub: sorry man. Like I said blame the herb.
Ps anyone been in Northern Italy and saw a disheveled man with a half juve half United scarf on holding a cardboard sign with Nani scrawled on it?

7.) 11 May 2017 17:27:03
Twice yearly muppets? Kind of offensive considering you're preaching love to all.

I'm not looking for an argument but I have to point out that there are probably a lot of people that don't post very much (myself included) but just come on for information and a chuckle at some of the banter. Come the transfer window these people may have genuine queries and, thanks to the eds hardwork, this site is a treasure trove for getting the inside scoop.

I agree that it must be annoying to have the same question thrown at the eds over and over. But I imagine the sites traffic helps to keep it running.

Anyway, like I said, I'm not looking for an argument. Just wanted to add a comment to my choice of thumbs down for the post.

8.) 11 May 2017 17:29:55
Supa
There's a few blasts from the past Ngiak and Joni. Ngiak had a law firm connection I think that dealt with every contract negotiation going but feed him more misinformation than he feed fish to his penguin.

9.) 11 May 2017 17:33:15
Jred, Ken. I'd just like to point out that I'd be much more comfortable continuing to see u make war rather than love ;)

10.) 11 May 2017 17:59:34
Mulamno we aim to please my friend😁.

That's fair enough mate. Like I said it's all about different opinions. I personally think muppets is not too harsh. I could definitely have said worse. Maybe Supasub or one of the eds could back me up here but back then some of the abuse these "fans" were giving the eds and other posters was disgusting and that's just what filtered through as I recall Bond telling us that some of what came through towards ed002 in particular was disgraceful.
Anyway sorry if I offended you in anyway but that part of my post was not aimed at genuine fans looking for information, more at the trolls and WUM's who purposely come on here twice a year to drive the ed away and ruin it for the regular contributors and readers.
Ps Nowhere in the post do I claim to be the Dali Lama or anything like it. It was just my way of trying to diffuse the tension between two longtime, valued regular contributors.
Again though sorry for my vulgarity.

Sorry if you find "muppets" offensive mate but I could have called them a lot worse in fairness. Like I said it's all about different opinions so I don't mind your input. Allow me to clarify if I may. That part of my post was in no way aimed at genuine posters looking for information. that's exactly what the site is for. It was aimed more specifically at the "trolls" and wind up merchants who I have no doubts come on here to drive ed002 away at the times, as you said yourself, that a lot of users tend to want those insights.
I was more so referring back to a period around 2010-12 when some of what was happening was ridiculous. I am sure Supasub or an ed could back me up on this as I remember Bond telling us at the time that some of the abuse that wasn't making the site, which was being aimed at the ed's (002 in particular) was borderline disgusting. Some that filtered through that I saw myself was disgraceful and shameful and I said Arvada the time it made me fear for the world my kids had to grow up in. With regards my "preaching" at no point in my post did I claim to be the Dali Lama. I used a well known quote in jest to try diffuse an ongoing situation between two longtime, consistent, valued contributors to the site both of whom I enjoy reading their thoughts and discussions.
Sorry for the "muppets" comment if it offend. Il try choose my words more carefully in future and elaborate more clearly the points I am making. That is if I bother my arse to
post anymore as despite my "preaching of peace and love", like I touched on also in my o. p, I am also the product of a life of abuse that I never asked to be born into, fought to change my fortune against all odds, refused to let it drag me down to its level and through years of professional help have got to the point where I don't need to waste my time or energy trying to stay patient while replying to nitpicking over my choice of "offensive" words to describe the posts that ruin the enjoyment of this site for users on here and have done "twice yearly" for several years.
Not looking to cause an argument though. Peace out.
Ps Beast: fair play mate. You are a more patient man than 28 years of counselling has made me. Chat to you maybe in another 7 years

I also post less these days, for various reasons, but still enjoy reading quite often. Thought that was a top post though, well done RK. Although the devil in me loves reading a Jred/ ken debate (argument) as much as I used to love the Jred/ Syd debates (arguments! ) - seems Jred has just found himself a new nemesis 😋. He's a top poster as are all the rest. Ngiak the penguin (or his master? ) was one of my fave posters - everyone used to get so mad at this person pretending to be a penguin and giving false rumors but I loved it! Kloot deserves a mention obviously, I will never forget that jovial chap.

Kloot, redman etc

I was 5/6 when fergie took over so don't remember much of the surrounding attention it got. just interested in what your honest opinions on him at the time where. not trying to stir the s*** or anything. just trying to get my head around what's going on and would be thinking along the same lines as you with regards the last day or so.
Cheers.

I think to put in context the previous managers after Sir Matt didn't have the necessary qualities to be the complete package. I actually had a long discussion with Wilf McGuiness and lovely man but didn't have the charisma or drive to be such a high profile manager. Tommy Doc was effervescent and you loved his personally and his team was exciting we will never know whether he could have won more. Sexton was dull studious and I was not enamoured at all when he arrived. Big Ron had potential but you felt he was too carefree and lacked the experience to get us over the line. There were a lot of drinking stories and I know some were true because of a pub I frequented back then so discipline was an issue.
So to SAF, I remember the day and we had hope that we had found a winner. His record was impressive taking a provincial city club and knocking the old firm off their perch, winning leagues, cups and in Europe as well. I was delighted to see him arrive and I knew he had to sort the drink culture out. He was a winner and we knew that on the day he was appointed.
The way I feel today is more like the Dave Sexton situation, Moyes a good man but not Manchester United quality. He hasn't pulled up trees and even Swansea's manager has been more successful
The day SAF was appointed was a good one but today I am frankly thoroughly disappointed at the lack of ambition in the club

2.) Did you consider renewing your season ticket when Sexton came in as well?

Glad you hung in there anyway. Must have been a tough decision for you.

Your love for the club obviously took precedence over your 'feelings' for one particular manager.

Well done.

3.) Cheers mate.
Like I say, i'm just interested in how people felt before when we changed managers. I remember my old man and uncle being excited about fergie taking charge at the time too.
Everyone will have an opinion. i'm still not sure personally. whoever it may be will have a hard act to follow. let's just hope that the right choice is made for the clubs sake and no one elses.
By the way, spot on with the prediction last year kloot. took some s*** for it but good call mate.

Rk16

4.) Red man, I remember all these managers myself as we watched the dominant Liverpool teams come and go while we recruited managers who were not suitable. Luckily, we got the right man in the end, and what a man he proved to be. A winner before he came (he had already won 10 Trophies) and he carried on his great work at united. We all owe him a debt of gratitude.
On Moyes, he is a super man, a bit like Dave sexton, talented coach, but totally out of his depth at united.
I think the manager's job at a club is the most important one, so it is surprising to hear people saying the Glazers will not sanction £10m for mourinho. He would guarantee trophies, and attract the big players, isn't that what we want at united? Or do we just want a thoroughly decent man as manager who has won nothing in his previous job?

I stood on the Stretford Paddock and End through the Sexton era often bored and think I may even have had a league match ticket to stand but can't remember exact timings.

Your sarcasm is noted

I have a question for some of the older (no offence) posters like redman, kloot etc. just looking for some perspective.
I was 6/7when fergie took over so don't remember much surrounding the event. just wanted to know what the general feeling was when he took over and how did you honestly feel about it at the time?
Im not looking to stir the s*** here. just struggling to get my head around it all and would value you thoughts and memories on it. i'm on near enough the same page with regards what's happening?
Cheers.

Theres a shock. the 1 post out of 11 that's a dig at the eds and there is no name. spineless little ****s ruining an excellent site. bet you feel like a man behind your keyboard. now you can argue i'm the same but I know that I have the physique, training and bollox to say this face to face where the likes of you and your hard nameless friends ever unfortunate enough for that to happen. il forward my address if you want. its s*** like this that makes me despair at the world my daughter has to grow up in. lack of respect and common decancy in people today is sickening.
Keep up the good work eds and ignore the muppets. karmas a bitch.

Ed004

You can add Jamie Redknapp and John Aldridge into that pot also. Redknapp wrote 3 articles on the sly website between January and the end of the season on why Rashford should leave United.
As for Aldridge, he is just a bitter muppet. He has a page in the Sunday World here in Ireland. Can’t go a week without a dig thrown in somewhere.
Just two of many.

Rk16

{Ed004's Note - Exactly, it's an easy target to slag United players and the club. It sells papers as it gets a reaction. Non-united fans love to leave it and United fans get wound up and bite}
