Appears as if josh King is on. If I were bournemouth I would be majorly annoyed with the timing and also why is this left until deadline day by us.
I now understand what Ed002 means by amateur. (board and transfer process)

Rosspique

1.) 31 Jan 2020 11:12:19
bournemouth won't sell without getting someone in. ain't happening.

2.) 31 Jan 2020 12:57:41
I was listening to Neil Warnock on Talksport this morning and he said you want to get your signings in early, but it always seems to take till the end of the window to sort out, with clubs thinking they can get a better deal, players not being available and players suddenly becoming available. It's not just us that act this way.

3.) 01 Feb 2020 12:06:57
Bournemouth would do exactly the same if they had to.

24 Jan 2020 15:33:58
Hi Ed,

Any truth in the rumour we've bid for dries mertens

Thanks in advance.

Rosspique

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of a bid}

1.) 24 Jan 2020 17:49:33
Thanks Ed, would love him but won't hold my breath, have yourself a great weekend.

2.) 24 Jan 2020 19:50:11
Rumours circulated that on the 58th minute against Wolves there is a so called planned walkout. What will that achieve, Tickets, beer, food and merchandise has all been purchased, so the yanks still get revenue. Is going to persuade them to sack Ole or Woodward, no I doubt it. Face the facts it's our time to be bottom feeders, city have been through it, liverpool fell down the packer order, now it's our turn I'm afraid, It will be 5 years before we come close to being the top club in England again. A walk out won't change a thing.

3.) 24 Jan 2020 20:53:10
Sorry again Ed but what about boubakary Soumare. Can you confirm whether we have submitted a bid for him or not.

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

4.) 24 Jan 2020 22:01:31
Jose asking journalists about bruno and smirking again today got a feeling he knows something we dont.
Selling eriksen trying to sell rose and portugese press saying bruno played last game got a bad feeling about this.

5.) 25 Jan 2020 08:58:37
Levy has a new stadium to pay for.
Doubt the Rose or Erikson deals would bring in that much return
Think jose is just indicating how in adequate we are at the minute regarding transfers.
I could be totally wrong of course, But I feel Levy is more of a tight wad than what Woodward is.

6.) 25 Jan 2020 15:06:24
Rock the red 5 years try adding another 5 on top of that.

7.) 26 Jan 2020 21:53:59
Be real lads more like 30 years.

07 Jul 2019 12:41:35
Hi ed002 hope you're well.
Can I ask in your opinion how many players do you think we are still going to sign and in what position.

Thanks as always.

Rosspique

{Ed002's Note - RB, CB, CM, CM/AM, RW/F needed plus possibly a GK and probably a Striker.}

1.) 07 Jul 2019 12:55:32
Not much then.

{Ed002's Note - It would be an easy way to spend about Β£400M or so.}

2.) 07 Jul 2019 13:11:10
Ed, is that another RB in spite of AWB signing?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

3.) 07 Jul 2019 13:11:47
Ed002, forgetting who the club has been linked with, or who the club might sign. Who would have been your ideal picks for United to sign for those positions?

{Ed002's Note - Wan-Bissaka; Ruban Dias; Hamed Traorè; Kai Havertz; Federico Chiesa; Jan Oblak; Robert Lewandowski (for one year)}

4.) 07 Jul 2019 13:28:14
Chiesa would be ace from what I've seen.

5.) 07 Jul 2019 13:50:47
Wow, some great choices in there. Sure you don't want a job at United?

6.) 07 Jul 2019 15:47:08
Ed002 for Technical Director. Anyone? 😊.

7.) 07 Jul 2019 16:16:28
Has there been any change with Dias? Is he any closer to leaving and where to?

ED02 has my vote for TD and we know the appeal of living in Manchester is not for you so you are more than welcome to work out of the London Office. :)

{Ed002's Note - Ruben Dias (CB) Benfica think that he will be difficult to hold on to but his termination clause has increased which will fend off most interested clubs. But that may not put off Atletico Madrid who remain very keen and can afford him. And it may not put off Real Madrid who have identified him as one of the two players they want in the summer of 2020 - and that has been discussed between the sides when recently finalising the transfer of another player - could suit everyone.}

8.) 07 Jul 2019 20:31:36
Superb info ed, thank you.

9.) 08 Jul 2019 05:45:39
Lewandowski would be a dream signing.

10.) 08 Jul 2019 20:58:53
Thanks as always Ed002, gent as always, if that's your pronoun πŸ˜‚.

01 May 2019 12:39:45
HI Ed002, if you have a sec.

Do we still hold interest in Nikola Moro.

I know there was talk before he suffered Cruciate injury.

Thanks.

Rosspique

{Ed002's Note - No, there is no interested in Nikola Moro.}

1.) 01 May 2019 23:33:39
Cheers Ed. Have a nice day.

2.) 02 May 2019 08:27:11
Hi ED.

Is anyone.................

{Ed002's Note - WRONG PAGE.}

12 Apr 2019 17:52:13
Hi ed002, if u have a sec. Do we still hold our long term interest in Milenkovic savic or has our interest now switched to Ruben Neves.

Thanks.

Rosspique

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about, sorry.}

1.) 12 Apr 2019 18:39:14
Maybe it’s just me that thinks Neves is rather overrated.

2.) 12 Apr 2019 20:53:16
Thanks ed.

3.) 13 Apr 2019 18:46:39
Watching Man U v West Ham. we are shocking, Does anyone else think we offered the job to ole too soon . Been dreadful since he took over . changes the team around too much for my liking.
This is my opinion only
No need to get shirty if u disagree.

4.) 13 Apr 2019 18:55:18
I always thought we should have gone for Poch. But ole did enough to get the job. He needs to be backed. Unfair to judge him now.

5.) 13 Apr 2019 19:22:41
I'm not and have never been a fan of appointing Solskjaer permanently. Not to say I don't like him or that he hadn't done a fantastic job but I think there are better managers out there. We were initially brilliant under Solskjaer but the last 6 weeks or so we have been dire. That includes beating PSG.

It's still probably too early to judge whether it will or won't work as regardless of who the manager is, it is clear we need better players and we need the hierarchy above the manager dealt with. Nevertheless, I'd be more confident of it working with someone like Pochettino, Allegri or Blanc in charge.

6.) 13 Apr 2019 23:57:49
A lot of people agree that our squad is still lacking in a lot of areas and need a bit of a clean out at the end of the season
Ole has done a great job since he has come in and has us challegeing for top 4 again. How bout we give the guy a full season and a couple of transfer windows and see how we are going then. Always too quick to judge a manager, he obviously has said the way he wants to play and he may not have the players to do it
Lets give the guy a proper chance and get behind him.

7.) 13 Apr 2019 22:50:16
It's amazing how so many pple were over the moon before about Oles apptmt and who disagreed strongly with myself and others who said he was the wrong man and now they are changing their minds. I really hope Ole proves me wrong but he has done nothing concrete in terms of football achievement as a manager to be given the reins. Allegri or Poch were my preferred choices but as others have correctly identified and especially Ed 02 the main problem is much more fundamental. Ed Woodward is a great money making man but he is not and has proved that he never will be up to the task of guiding us playing wise. We desperately need a director of football and proper structure in place so that we get the right type of players, playing style and lay foundations for the future success of the club. City have overtaken us and are streets ahead with the way they have built the club in a relatively short time into a world force with wonderful training facilities and young teams coming through too. Just as importantly they have reached out to the local fan base and to attract fans worldwide. Their biggest challenge will be when Pep decides to leave as he will within a year or two. Until then we have to get the basics right. All that being said what is key now is retaining our best players and signing really top notch ones. If we for example lose DE Gea Pogba and Herrera in the summer transfer window what sort of message does that send and how will we attract the best players to us. Being out of the Champions League will make things doubly difficult. I will support Ole and the team just like I supported Jose but fear for the future.

8.) 14 Apr 2019 13:36:26
Oles had a easy start and now we are starting to see what the team and coach is made off! .

The way the team is playimg it is the same as how the team wa splaying under Ole but with a little bit more effort.

I don't think Ole is the right man but we can't b changing coaches like changing boxers.

Our plan for the next 2 years should be to clear out the players we don't need and buy players that are hungry to wear the United shirt.

It is going to be another 2 to 3 year project and if that doesn't work then we are just screwed.

9.) 15 Apr 2019 12:29:40
how long did it take poch to implement his style and work ethic to the players.

people expect instant change. the reality is it takes TIME

while this team has these players regardless of manager we are not going to be title contenders.

some say we need to get out of this ole bubble when in fact its this whole title challenge bubble.

we are no longer a team to compete at the top level currently

untill we change the way the club is run and the recruitment is sorted we will be top 4 at best this is no easy fix.

Good result tonight, looking more like the Manchester United I know. I said I didn't know much of Bruno before he came here apart from his stats which were amazing but wow what a player, has everyone around him playing with swagger now too. Think he could be our Cantona.

9 games unbeaten, not conceded in 7 out of last 9. Rome wasn't built in a day lads and patience is a virtue that is not really welcomed in the modern world.
I've said it before and I'll say it again.
In Ole I trust. Believe!

Bring on city.

Rosspique

1.) 06 Mar 2020 04:25:02
I still believe we have taken a big step in the right direction.

2.) 06 Mar 2020 06:47:37
Bruno has made a huge difference, not only on the pitch but his mentality to win and push the team forward. Ighalo has also been positive, showing what a natural striker can do rather than a converted winger. I'm hopeful he can do enough to get a contract extension.

16 Feb 2020 22:36:20
So lads, would ye still take Saudi owners? πŸ€”.

Rosspique

1.) 17 Feb 2020 06:22:49
Yes, why not? I said ages ago that City owners weren't the squeaky clean people were claiming, and I got laughed off. Truth is PSG, Real, Barca, Chelsea and some others flaunt the rules.
Saudis will invest in the club, players and structure, while the Glazers are just using the club as a cash cow.

31 Jan 2020 20:42:23
All over twitter ighalos done. I'll take it, nice 1 Ed 😜.

Rosspique

1.) 31 Jan 2020 20:55:15
If that is the case. He's not bad and a much better option than King or slimani.

2.) 31 Jan 2020 21:09:45
Bit of a scattergun approach by the looks of things. So much for the club having a solid coherent plan. Incredible that it's taken so long in the window to identify a forward.

Anyway it seems like we have some experienced PL cover. Add this to the signing of Bruno and the window could have been much worse.

3.) 31 Jan 2020 21:33:35
Not really. Decent back up striker with proven pedigree whilst Rashford recovers.

4.) 31 Jan 2020 21:59:16
Ditto eric.

5.) 31 Jan 2020 22:08:24
big sam will be manager next.

6.) 31 Jan 2020 22:26:50
It seems the whole of europe has been taking the same scatter gun approach, every player available has been linked with every club in the world.

The fact that people are moaning about the fact that we will have cover up front I just don't understand, I don't understand much from our fanbase lately tbh.

7.) 31 Jan 2020 22:29:31
Probably better than martial so he will do for me.

8.) 31 Jan 2020 23:11:21
Wow how we have fallen. Watfords rejected striker is on his way to rescue us from a pub league. What do we expect though being Managed by a failed Cardiff boss and the sacked former Hull boss who advise's himπŸ€£πŸ˜‚.

9.) 31 Jan 2020 23:53:15
Please explain to me how he was Watfords rejected striker?

10.) 31 Jan 2020 23:55:48
well said bfro how they talk you would think we had just signed rvp.

11.) 01 Feb 2020 01:34:01
Haven't played a game and already the usual player bashing. It's a loan for 6 months not permanent signing for 6 years. If some of you were running the club, it would be bankrupt within a year.

12.) 01 Feb 2020 02:01:27
Jesus no wonder everybody hates us with some of the fans we have πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ.

13.) 01 Feb 2020 09:20:46
He might be good for us . But do you think he will be up to speed with the Premier league pace after playing in the China pub league for almost 2 years. Gone are the days when we signed top draw players for the worlds elite clubs whatever time of the season . We are even getting rejected by the players now aswell as the clubs. OGS just doesn't have the pull for players we saw that with Haaland (forget about the cash)
πŸ˜‚πŸ€£.

Just wanted to say thanks to the eds, especially 002 for putting up with our questions for the month. Appreciate ye're work, cheers.

Rosspique

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome Ross.}

1.) 31 Jan 2020 15:45:18
Hear hear I second that, and do not worry ED02, as soon as tomorrow comes we will all start bugging you about summer plans πŸ˜€.

2.) 31 Jan 2020 15:49:30
well said. cheers to all the eds especially ed002, bet you are glad the window is nearly over lol.

{Ed002's Note - Thanks Tim.}

3.) 31 Jan 2020 16:28:29
Which club are yourfave set of football fans from Ed? i.e most respectful, intelligent question, understand their club etc.?

{Ed002's Note - The Wycombe fans.}

4.) 31 Jan 2020 16:40:54
Wycombe from here on out shall be by second club.

5.) 31 Jan 2020 17:56:21
Thanks, Ed002 and also Ed001 for all the hard work as always. Much appreciated.

30 Jan 2020 08:35:13
Morning chaps,
Although we are out, I'm happy enough with last night's performance. We showed passion and spirit and obviously won the game.
City had a host of chances though and could very easily have been game over early doors but for some fantastic saves by de gea.
Thought the 2 boys in midfield were immense today, Fred is becoming quite consistent.

Matic sending off, yeah 2 yellow cards so deserved but my god the amount of tactical fouls city commit is unreal, I know Klopp called them out on it before and we get pulled for a mata foul throw, what about pep grabbing the ball and trying to not let mata have it. Guarantee if Mourinho does that it's a touchline ban.

Anyways as usual this season we have had some bad results followed by good ones. But we've bet city twice at their place in 6 weeks, it's been a long time since I seen that and more than ever I see the green shoots.
Delighted with Bruno too and still hopeful of a striker on loan.

I've said it once and I'll proudly say it again.

In Ole I trust. Believe!

Rosspique

1.) 30 Jan 2020 08:46:25
Although we won the game couple of players were beyond awful, Lindelof and Martial to be specific. Matic and Fred were excellent and team did show heart.

As ole said, we need a striker who will break his nose to score a goal.

2.) 30 Jan 2020 09:20:05
Martial did nothing wrong, when he had the ball, which was rare given the service, he held on to it and more often than not, played a useful pass. Fred was sloppy again, lost the ball constantly, poor passes and too easily dispossessed. People's praising of Fred shows how far the level has fallen, he's no better than Anderson.

Martial needs Rashford as the two are intelligent enough on the ball to work together to create chances. It's no coincidence that when both play they get more goals and assists. Rashford wasn't particularly great when Martial was out injured either, I seem to remember people ranting about him not being good enough then. The problem is that as soon as one of them is out, there's a lack of intelligent players to replace them, meaning they have to create everything alone. If Fred and Matic were so good, they'd have at least provided something. Lingard is the main culprit though, and Perreira just isn't good enough either, Mata has vision but is a little too slow. Hopefully Fernandes can provide that intelligence needed for Rashford and Martial to not have to rely solely on one another. Pogba returning will also help in this aspect.

3.) 30 Jan 2020 09:54:13
Fred won the ball countless times last night, and got the ball forward and looked after it well against one of the best midfields in Europe.

4.) 30 Jan 2020 09:58:35
I'm not particularly happy with the performance we did pretty much nothing other than the goal. Needed to win by two goals to take the game to penalties I don't think there was much ambition shown to actually go after City and win the game. It was more of a hope for a bit of luck to win the game than any sort of game plan. Stoke or Burnley tactics. We play like a small club in big games I've noticed.

5.) 30 Jan 2020 10:22:38
He lost the ball so often. I remember in the first half, he tackled a City player, can't remember which one, got the ball and sent the player to the floor, by the time he untangled his feet, the City player was back up and dispossessed him. He does run a lot and does act as a good barrier in front of the defence, but his passing is poor and his control of the ball quite bad; the ball always seems to be caught between his feet or escaping him, meaning he's constantly stretching to toe poke the ball wherever he can, often leading to the opposition gaining possession. He does what Fellaini did defensively, but lacks the offensive qualities someone like Fellaini had, doesn't score, doesn't create chances. I would hardly call Fellaini a great player or one of the best midfielders in Europe, is he even one of the best midfielders in Asia? If Fred is one of the best midfielders in Europe, then the standard of midfielders must have dropped considerably. I think Fred is a squad player at best.

6.) 30 Jan 2020 10:49:20
Didn’t call Fred one of the best in Europe, I said he played well against one of the best midfields in Europe. He was brilliant in the league game there, and was good last night again. Credit where it’s due imo.

7.) 30 Jan 2020 11:22:47
Guess we disagree on this, I don't believe a player who fails to control a ball and plays poor passes whilst being dispossessed regularly is brilliant. I fail to see anything other than a hard worker and someone who puts in the odd good tackle or block.

If the terms work for us then I'd prefer to have an extra striker than not to have enough. He is a short term option with hopefully relatively little outlay.
I have a feeling he may surprise a couple of people particularly if Bruno is going to be feeding him, big strong boy, game changer in last 20 mins maybe, 16 goals in 35 Nigeria apps. Jesper blomqvist.

Yeah no I get the rule Ed and know Barcelona aren't doing anything untoward it just seems a little bit unjust for the smaller side or could some say in a way stupid of them. If I understand correctly, because he had a release clause the club have to accept barcas bid, which just to me seems stupid because they can't get anyone to replace him and their fighting relegation.
Thanks for you answer also as always and sorry know its not United related, just interesting.

Rosspique

{Ed002's Note - He would have a buy out clause rather than a release clause in Spain. The rules in Spain have no provision for what happens in these circumstances and there will again be pressure on the authorities to remove the compulsory nature of the clauses if within 5 days of the transfer deadline or under the emergency provisions.}

From what I read that is a rule of la liga. Love how Barcelona are taking a striker from a side threatened with relegation yet thaf side can't sign a replacement, strange in my opinion.

{Ed002's Note - It is up to individual FAs how transfers are organised to deal with specific issues. It is fine.}
